New Year’s Resolution: Language Vacations

language-vacations copy

So, the spry and carefree college days might be years behind (hey, we’re still young at heart)! But learning new things and having that continued thirst for knowledge is not only beneficial to developing new skills, but it also enriches the soul and well-being.

A language vacation is a great way to pick up a new skill, in a unique way. Not only does it add to your long list of abilities, but immersing and practicing a new language where it’s predominantly spoken will make getting around a lot easier. It also helps with receiving intel from locals. If all else fails, you’ll definitely impress guests at your next dinner party!

While some programs entail complete immersion in learning the language (i.e. you eat, breathe, and sweat the culture), there are others that give short-term options in learning the language a little bit at a time.

If committing to an accredited language program doesn’t tickle your fancy, but are still enticed with the notion of picking up a new language, have no fear! Some resorts and hotels offer one-day language lessons for those who are looking for the bare basics in conversation.

Whether it’s diving right into it or dabbling, bit by bit, learning a new language is a humbling experience that broadens horizons and cultural perspectives.
