Ireland is a country that has the best of both worlds. It is a place where modern day meets the past, where nature harmoniously blends with the city lights, and where vast lands are met with pockets of charming towns.
Regardless of whatever part of the island you’re visiting, there’s always something different to do. Whether it’s pub-hopping along the famous Temple Bar District in Dublin, to appreciating the history of the Dunguaire Castle in Galway, to marvelling at the interlocking basalt columns of the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, the backdrop is never really the same…except, maybe the distinct emerald hue that surrounds the country from its grassy landscape!
The jaunt to Ireland will soon be a tad easier for Canadians. Starting June, Westjet will be offering their first transatlantic service from St. John’s to Dublin, with connecting service from several other Canadian destinations.
Whether it’d be the landscapes, rich culture, or notable charm of the people, Ireland is one gem of a country. It’s no question why they’ve coined the reputation of the ‘Emerald Isles.’
