Puerto Rico isn’t necessarily a destination that screams, ‘Spring Break Hotspot.’ However, its close proximity to Miami, its western influences, and affordable accommodations makes this a little underrated when it comes to Spring Break destinations.
With the perfect balance of boisterous party life and a relaxed island pace, Puerto Rico is a destination that needs more credit than it deserves.
Party, Party – San Juan
While San Juan isn’t typically buzzing of the party atmosphere on the regular, it’s noted to be one of the most crowded destinations during Spring Break. San Juan is the hub for a majority of nightclubs and bars in Puerto Rico. This city is also a great alternative for those who are looking to have a good time, without having to deal with the sloppy, obnoxious, and scantily clad scene that you’d usually experience in Cancun.
For a little R&R – Spanish Virgin Islands
Wedged between Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands, this destination is perfect for yacht enthusiasts and Spring Breakers looking to spend plenty of time in the sun near the beach. Aside from an infinite amount of R&R, vacation-goers can also venture the reefs nearby and take in the picturesque cays.
