Last week, we focused a lot on what brides should consider wearing for their big day. It wouldn’t be fair at all to leave out the grooms!
Contrary to belief, finding the proper ‘destination wedding’ style formal wear for grooms can be as equally, if not more difficult than the bride! In addition to wearing something that complements the bride, another challenge is finding formal wear that is also lightweight and breathable (you wouldn’t want to be standing under the sun with layers and layers of clothing)!
Our friends at Harry Rosen gave us a few fashion tips and advice to keep grooms and groomsmen looking cool and sharp during the big day.
Before considering the style and fit of your suite, there are some cardinal rules to follow when it comes to event dressing. It’s always better to buy a tux rather than renting one. Not only is it an investment that pays itself off for other formal events, but having a properly fitted and tailored tux will mean that it is in fact, YOURS.
In order to preserve the quality of your suite, leave bulky valuables like your wallet, phone, and keys at the room (why would you really need it on your wedding day, anyways)? If you did in fact needed to bring some of your valuables during the ceremony, simply slip your valuables into a slim card holder so that it does not damage the lining of your suit.
In terms of putting your suit together, there are many ways to have fun with it! For those looking to achieve a bold and trendy look, try mixing and matching bold patterns with solid or muted colors. Doing this complements and maintains a balanced look.
To achieve a more ‘casual’ look, opt for a linen jacket or suit. The lightweight material allows for breathability and comfort, without compromising style.
Regardless of the style or fit of your suit, make sure that it is comfortable and something that you contented to wear throughout your wedding day.
