Many travel companies and hotels are wholeheartedly embracing the digital era, incorporating the latest in tech into their daily operations.
This is nothing new for the digitally savvy New York, Aloft Hotel. The hotel’s main premise is to include some of the newest and coolest technology into every facet of the property. From their SPG Keyless Entry App, to their Botlr robotic butler (yes, you heard right…a ROBOT butler), the future is now at the Aloft Hotel!
However, of all of their digitally savvy features, we’re really applauding their most recent installment. Simple yet cleverly practical, the hotel launches the world’s first Emoji Room Service.
Yes, you can now receive top-notch hotel service with those cute little pictures that you text with!
The Aloft TiGi (Text it, Get it) Emoji Room Service allows guests to text order items from the hotel’s room service menu from their smart phones. Menu items can range from $10 to $30 dollars and as with most room service costs, are included in the final check-out bill.
Some of the specialty items include the standard tourist essentials, like a $10 MetroCard, city map, and drinks at the W XYZ Bar, found in the Sightseer Package, or if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, the “Surprise Me,” which consists of fun swag, chosen personally by the hotel staff.
This new addition is just one of the ways that hotels and tourism companies are infusing the current trends into their day to day operations. We can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next!
