We were at Breathless for Christmas 2023. Our first trip amd we loved everything about it!
Angel was our server at the party pool and we absolutely loves him. Great positive attitude and always happy to serve. We fell in love with the resort and with Angel and we will 100% be coming back. Also, Carlos, bartender at the party pool is absolutely amazing!
Then we met with Carlos and ended up buying into the preferred club membership and got the silver package. Carlos knows his stuff and is great with people. He follows up and ensures his members are well taken care of.

Our Host Willy was Awesome!! We had a group of 13 ppl and he made sure we had EVERYTHING we needed. From reservations to rides Willy had it covered!
We were celebrating 3 birthdays and a anniversary. Willy made sure all were celebrated properly.
This was a resting vacation no excursions or explorarions, so we scent 5 nights at the resort, without taking advantage of the free shuttles to the City. Mall or ships and we had a great time. I used the 24 health club gym 4 of the 5 days 😀...went again...still great, Culinaria, was the best restauarant..but the other were close

Super recommended. We stayed 6 nights with my partner. The attention of EVERYONE at the hotel was excellent, super helpful, friendly, attentive, always with a good vibe. There are activities to do all the time. They are always offering you a drink. It is a hotel designed for the Yankee; We personally liked it a lot. The food is exquisite and VERY varied. We went to all the rest except the sofrito; all very good. The rooms are super spacious, clean.
The only thing I would add is when you check in they don't explain that you can download the app, how they work and where everything is; but it's a detail. Everywhere it says about the app, it's just that there are people out there who don't see it or find it difficult to use it.
We would return without hesitation.
I recently stayed at the Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa. While the resort itself was pleasant, and the setting was beautiful, I was disappointed by the staff's lack of friendliness and their unwillingness to perform their duties without being tipped. Tipping is optional at an all-inclusive resort. However, it is customary to tip service staff for good service. I expected a higher level of service from this resort that charges such high prices. I was also not satisfied with the quality of the food at this resort. The selection was limited when ordering room service and the dishes that were available were not very good. I disliked this resort due to the staff, they displayed a discourteous attitude which discouraged me from returning. I cannot recommend this resort, and I will caution others against visiting it.
Had a great time here the food was good the rooms were dated and the paint was sloppy along with plaster and any maintenance-type stuff that looked like was done seemed of poor quality.
Amstar and the intro were great Monkey Island, Zip Line, and UTV excursion were the best.
If planning any diving don't use the shop set up on the beach will overcharge you.
We had an amazing time. The food was good, drinks were strong and service was on point. Our guide Willie took care of all our request and made sure we had everything we needed. Cant wait to go back again. This place is a solid 9 out of 10
Very nice resort but the food needs more attention my wife got sick from the food but the staff was great resort was nice clean well kept we where xhale so we had a butler he was not the best nice kid just not very responsive to a few things we needed
This Breathless resort and the staff here are absolutely outstanding! There's lots of daily activities to choose from, and we had access to Dreams (the neighboring resort). The food options and super nice and friendly staff made this 1 week stay a trip to remember!

After returning from a girls trip I would rate this resort a 2.5 to 3 stars. Here is a breakdown of our trip and hopefully it will help others decided if this is the right place or location for them.
The beach, lobby and out door area are all beautiful. You can tell some of the resort has been updated and well kept. The beach is a good size and the water was beautiful during our stay.
First impression of customer service/staff was really negative. I would say 70% of the staff can come across curt, disappointed that they have to speak with you, and rude. We found this more with the front end working staff, front desk, concierge, hostess and some waiters. To give an example, we went to the concierge and the woman continued to look at her phone, did not look up as we walked up- and said lady what do you want. The response to wanting service from the front end staff seemed to always be a chore and unwanted by the staff.
30% of the staff were great, they were the staff that were more of the runners and assistant staff. The ones refilling drinks at a restaurant, or dancing with the patrons on party nights.
Our worst experience- the food. We would never go back because there were not enough food options that actually tasted appropriate or appealing. They had a lot of options, it just was not prepared in ways that were appealing, or it was cold, or over cooked. ( Examples- pasta sauce that tasted like soupy bbq sauce, food that wasn’t seasoned, meat that was over cooked, chicken in pasta that was mostly chicken tendons, eggs Benedict that was hard boiled ( not sure how they did that) pancakes that were gummy with cut grapes in syrup on top. I had a beef tenderloin at the French restaurant and the side was one carrot and a quarter size drop of unseasoned mashed potatoes. We were always hungry. The fries at the out door stand were hot and fresh, and we would grab some, but do not get the fries for room service. They must make their room service food in advance and let the food sit out. They were cold and stale when they arrived at the room. ) Some of my friends did get sick and it makes us question the kitchen prep.
I believe this place has the resources to have better food, they have a lot of it. It’s just not prepared correctly. Just having fresh fries made for room service rather than send fries that were a day old would have given us a better experience. It’s fixable, they just need to fix it.
Do not pay for the upgrades. We ran in patrons that paid for the Exhale package and were really upset. The butler cannot make any reservations for restaurants (side note there is only one restaurant that allows reservations) or help you get seat at the pool or beach. For them he was never around. They also had rooms that were not upgrades and during their stay their whole buildings power went out.
The last issue was the room. They must have an old sewer system. Sewage smells will come through the shower and the rooms need a dehumidifier. You are allowed to set the air at 21C but it’s so humid in the room it feels much hotter. So a smelly and warm room. We also had to call to get our room cleaned since they completely missed us during the day.
To end I will recap on the good:
The entertainment (dance parties) were really fun, and we enjoyed the staff that participated. The lawns are beautifully manicured and the walkways are beautiful at night.
If you do end up going ( and find your stay less than relaxing) walk down the beach to Tropical Treasure- great shop with really amazing prices for massages on the beach. You can find them on google and they are well rated.
Great all inclusive resort. Clean, good service, and variety of good.

This was a yearly surprise birthday for my partner and neither of us had traveled to Dominican Republic. I knew I did not have the patience to plan a trip with the intricacy and detail my partner would appreciate most, so I hired a travel agent with these criteria: must be all-inclusive, but have activities where we either dance, run, hike swim or expect energy, must be safe for travel off resort, and the room must be higher quality including the level of concierge. My contact gave me 3 options and DR was the best place with the guidelines I requested. The Breathless Punta Cana was a total hit. My girl was enamored with the customer service, quality of the resort and the numerous restaurants, pools and upkeep of the property. We were assigned a concierge with who we interacted with via WhatsApp, any transportation was arranged via him, he also adorned out door acknowledging my partners birthday trip and provide a bottle of champagne and hand written note. We were there 4 nights, there were concerts of performances covering top 40 artists and some classics. We had hydrotherapy and couples massage which was definitely a strong recommendation. There was an additional cost but we offset it by attending a “presentation” on other resort projects and properties with the intent of getting you to buy. I know that part was cheesy but the free massage and hydrotherapy were totally worth it. Drinks and food about, bars are everywhere, including pools, at beach front in lobbies and servers walk up asking for drink orders as you sit poolside. This was a dream, so much so my partner was in acute pampering withdrawal the first two days back home. Heck we even improved our Spanish because of this encounter. High highly recommended. ¡HOLA!
Someone was in our room even though we had a do not disturb sign for one
For TWO THE MOST IMPORTANT. My husband and I were walking the beach at night and the security told us we could have a cabana and sit there, as soon as my husband turned away the “security” grabbed my private part and I smacked his hand away and said I think it’s time for us to go. When we got back to the room and I told my husband what happened he went back to confront him and the “security” ran away and at the same time was telling him to fight him. Although this is very odd behavior from what I’ve experienced in the DR and I’m not sure if this was actually security from this resort…there should have been more security around the resort period.

Pool close at 6 pm. Did not get to enjoy during my stay. In the early day, there was no covering which the sun beamed down, so I did not want to get in water. Most times, you do not come back from excursions until 5 or so. The rooms were good spacious along with being clean. Most of the staff didn't speak English, so it was a little difficult to talk to staff at times, but i came to a foreign country, so as visitors, we should know the basic language. I did not see covering over food when room service was delivered. So, the food seems to travel across the property exposed to the elements. Being near sand it is in the air. Read information on drinking water from tap, Drinking tap water should not be done.
