The staff amazing they all made you feel welcome the rooms were clean everyday clean towels every time. The entertainment Mala, Jorge, Fernanda, Orlando bartenders the waitresses the food big selection, photography people wow I highly recommend. Taking them all in my heart

Hyatt Ziva was SO much fun for my family.

The entertainment team was AMAZING. Specifically, Mala and Jorge led some wonderful yoga on the beach and water Zumba. They had high energy to keep the fun going for foam parties and the bartending competition. Fernanda was always SO friendly and seemed to help out with everything. Her smile was so heartfelt and she seemed to really care about everyone she interacted with. Orlando led a wonderful kayak tour and really paid careful attention to the safety of everyone kayaking. He seemed very knowledgeable about the area and had a great sense of humor on the tour.

The photography team was also super great. Their photos turned out wonderful and they really accommodated us getting our photos quickly as we were checking out.

As far as food goes, we had a great time with Miguel at the Italian restaurant. That was definitely the tastiest food. The Mexican restaurant had the largest variety of options for people with gluten allergies. All restaurants accommodated our need for gluten free options.

There were times that the pool bar got busy and we wouldn’t always get the drink we had asked for but we cant complain too much about that.

It was overall a great week in Puerto Vallarta and we would definitely stay at Hyatt Ziva again in the future!

My husband and I decided to stay here for 3 nights (January 2024) and immediately regretted our decision.

Short review:
The staff were friendly and helpful but the noisy construction and food quality killed the experience for us. The buffet at lunchtime was borderline comparable to college cafeteria. For this price point, you should go to another all-inclusive — our friends stayed at the Hilton and had a much better time. The room service was also pretty sad. Our order was delivered in takeout containers. Pizza was inedible but the sandwich and fries were ok.

Long review:
Our room was good, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was spacious. No complaints on this end.

There are 5 restaurants on the property but during breakfast/lunch, only 1-2 spots are actually open.
The buffet was closed at noon, which was really odd considering it being prime lunch hour.
The first night, we tried to go to the Italian restaurant (since it had the best rating) and they were closed for a private event. We finally got a reservation the last night and our first item came out cold and the ossobuco had a long blonde hair in it. Overall, everything tasted very average for being the best rated option.

I’m shocked that this hotel had such a high rating because there’s no way it deserves a 4.5. We booked this place based on those glowing reviews and was fooled. I’m pretty sure some of these are not real, there’s no way people have such low standards. I would not recommend staying here, not worth your money at all.

They have blocked access to the beach, which is illegal.

The views were beautiful. The service and staff were outstanding. We will definitely keep coming back.

My son had his wedding there at it was beautiful. My only two complaints were the lunch buffet was not the best. The breakfast buffet was good. Did not have the dinner buffet.
The other issue was that I rented a swim up pool room. I was the very 1st room at the end of the building. Room 1101. When going out on our patio our view of the ocean was nice if you could overlook the roof of the Asian restaurant that connected to the resort on the beach level. The area between our pool and the roof could had been cleaned better. It did not leave a good first impression. Other than that being personal preference we enjoyed our week and would go back again.

Upon arrival, we were surprised to see a huge dead bird in our patio hot tub. The hotel staff took several hours to come clean it out and clean the tub. Then, on our third night, we came back to the room at 11pm to find water pouring through our ceiling all over our clothes and luggage.

Overall, our 4-night stay was excellent. My family and I stayed in early March before Spring Break so the resort didn’t feel as packed and it wasn’t difficult to find beach/pool chairs. The beach is steps away from the hotels and it’s a private beach where no other resorts can access. The beach was actually swimmable compared to Cabo where the beach is dangerous to swim in.

Hotel: We stayed the first night in an ocean view room and decided to upgrade to a junior suite room in the club lounge tower. The club tower offered premium drinks not offered elsewhere throughout the resort, had a snack bar that was open from 7am-11pm. Shout out to Ivan for being our bartender a few times! The room included a mini bar that was stocked with a few beers, sodas, and waters. They restock it everyday and you can request to get it restocked any time. It was a few steps away from the beach and was next to the adult pool. The rooms were large and included 2 full beds plus 1 pull out couch. The balcony had a day bed and 2 chairs and a table. I absolutely loved the sounds of waves crashing as we fall asleep since we were next to the beach. If you’re not a fan of this, I’d keep this in mind.

My aunt got upgraded to the Presidential Suite and it was a fantastic room with 2 floors. They had a corner room with a pretty good sized private pool. We spent a lot of time here too.

Food: I’d rate the food overall 3.5/5. There were many choices but none really that stood out, though I know not to ask for much in all inclusive resorts. Dinner choices were Pureza (Asian), Melanzane (Italian), Casa Grande (Mexican). The service for these restaurants were a little bit slower, it seemed as if they were understaffed. Our last night we went to Casa Grande, the wait was long but our server Martin took care of us with a smile on his face even though it seemed as if he was the only server there. These 3 require reservations as they get booked fast. There’s a seafood restaurant called Blaze that’s available for dinner and for lunch and it has a wonderful view. Most restaurants actually had a wonderful view. The Vivaz buffet was great for breakfast. The coffee shop by the lobby was very convenient especially if you have an early morning excursion. I would say our favorite place to eat actually ended up being the Hyghlights sports bar which served bar food — it was excellent for post drinking food. Room service was open 24/7 and delivery was pretty quick I would say.

Spa/gym: I booked an 80 minute deep tissue massage which included a 1 hour pass prior to your appointment. Maria was my therapist and she was great. A guide takes you through the steps of sauna, rock walk, jacuzzi (with cucumbers for your eyes and a head massage from the guide), and finally, the spa pool. I’ve stayed in Ziva Los Cabos where they offered a full day pass and in/out privileges, but this spa only allowed for 1 hour. The service was overall wonderful. The gym was on the same floor and had nice view of the ocean.

Pools/beach: there were 4 pools available. One adult pool, 1 adults only swim up bar, 1 activities pool (for volleyball, Zumba, group water exercises). We stayed mostly in the adults only pool since it was closest to us. On our second day we rented a cabana by the beach which was next to a bar and the adults pool. Service was excellent. Shout out to Carlos for being our server that day! The cabana was ours from 9am to 6pm. It included 2 coconut drinks + they also served a tres leches birthday cake for my aunt’s birthday.

Service: All of our interactions with employees were excellent. They were all accommodating from the front desk to the restaurants to the lobby and to the pools. Shout out to Veronica for helping us out from the get go with booking our spa services and helping us with our room upgrade.

Activities: there were activities offered throughout the day and night ranging from group exercise, cornhole/volleyball games, and night time activities and shows in the main outisde area.

Overall, if I were to go back to Puerto Vallarta, I would stay here again.

Loved this place!

What a great experience. I have been going to Puerto Vallarta and first time at Hyatt Ziva. Excellent service all around. Every staff member made everyday a memorable moment.

I don't understand how the hotel has 4.5 stars

ZERO RECOMMENDED and much less if you are a national tourist.

From the entrance to the hotel, Mrs. Liliana was rude. He yelled at us saying that I got too close to the booth and he directly took out the supplier table. He asked us in a belittling tone where we were going and it wasn't until I told him I had a reservation that he ran to the tablet and immediately changed the way he spoke to us.

At reception, Mrs. Paulina treated us very lazily until we took out the Canadian card, which changed her tone and even started joking.

On the way to the rooms we noticed the lack of maintenance, dirty windows, damaged paint, scratched furniture.

We went down to the pool area and our experience was only getting worse.

We got hungry and decided to ask a waiter for recommendations and understand the process of ordering food. His immediate response was “I don't address this area” instead of directing us to the correct person. We decided to walk to the restaurants: at the Italian one a friendly guy took our order and gave us information about the restaurants.

We entered the buffet, there was no hostess, we waited at the entrance and seeing that no one was approaching we entered. Note that the food is cold, hard, and flavorless. In horrendous conclusion. When we left, the hostess interrupted us very rudely saying that the restaurant has a “dress code,” and that she would not let us in the next time we went with our swimsuit tops exposed. When I turned to the other tables at least half of the foreign women were in bikinis.

We believed that the stay would not get worse, but in the palapa restaurant they served us as if they were doing us a favor, and the waiters in general had zero intention to serve us.

When checking out we left a bad rating on the survey and the lady (who I don't remember her name) asked us why. We gave him a summary and he still shamelessly replied under his breath “it's just that you nationals don't leave tips.”

Good tips were left everywhere we went, with no exceptions despite the mistreatment. And having answered that shows the difference they make between national and foreign tourism.

The manager gave a mediocre apology, but that didn't fix the entire lousy hotel experience.

DO NOT STAY WITH THEM

PS: I highlight that the only excellent service we received, with the same smile and encouragement, was Mariza, a waitress at the pool area. I hope the hotel rewards workers like her.

The staff is terrible, if they hear you speaking Spanish they treat you badly.

We had $2000 pesos stolen from my wife’s purse. I called the front desk after we noticed the money missing and they sent security up to do a report. When security showed up, they proceeded to check the room and all our luggage to “make sure we didn’t misplace it”. Really made us feel like we were the criminals. It was really uncomfortable as they went through our interior clothes. I told them I needed to know who came in to our room while we went to dinner. We were not upset ( as we should have put the purse in the safe) and we left the purse in a drawer, just found it shocking it happened within an hour and a half of us being gone. We have stayed with Hyatt plenty of times, leaving the wallet / purse in a drawer and never had issues. They said that they would look into this but I haven’t heard back.

The amount itself is insignificant, I am more upset at the audacity of someone doing this.

Security and management were supposed to get back to us but we haven’t heard back since we reported the incident.

This response is really based on how they handled the situation. Thank god only a small amount that was stolen but Hyatt’s response has really disappointed me. I would caution anyone looking to stay here in the future.

Loved this resort!! We had amazing service everywhere we went! The people really care and try so hard!
We stayed in the club tower and I do believe it’s worth the cost. The rooms were updated and so nice! It was also nice to have access to our own bar/snacks.

I was a little nervous coming to Mexico pregnant, but we had no issues with food or drinks.

The only negative might be the lack of pool chairs with only day beds that need to be rented in front of the pool. There are plenty of chairs though on the beach!

Beautiful beach and location we hope to come back someday!

Went for a destination wedding and had a fabulous stay. Asian restaurant was average. Mexican and Italian were awesome and so was the buffet.

Excellent food. Nice quaint resort. Very close to the water. Staff are excellent.

Recommended 1000%
I love this hotel. I have visited it many times and it has not neglected its quality in any way.
The staff goes out of their way to serve you. Not a single one ignores you or does less because you are Mexican, on the contrary, that makes a difference!!
The restaurants, for dinner, are super cool, there are 5 or 6, they are all a la carte buffet (except the normal buffet), for meal time there is the normal buffet and a palapa on the beach with an a la carte buffet . All the food is delicious. 100 out of 10.

The facilities are always 100%, they have many outdoor activities inside and outside the hotel (with and without cost).

The beach is private and super quiet, without harmful fauna or pollution.
Anyway... if I could go every month I would.

As icing on the cake, when you check out, they don't kick you out of the hotel.
Who does that?
I've been to many hotels and they chase you like a dog at 12pm... on the contrary they leave you until you stay to eat.

Other hotels should take note.

This was our second time here went 2 years ago my daughter had her wedding there. This time which was in 01/2024 love this place but getting to restaurants and needing reservations was a joke. We hated this part of the trip we had a large party and recommended because 2 years ago we could just show up to any of the restaurants and was fine. This time it was a nightmare. We ate a majority of the time at the buffet because we could not get to the restaurants. Again we had a huge party and it was disappointing. It changed a lot from our first experience. We even were willing to break up times no luck. That really sucked. And then there were 3 days we could not swim in the ocean because they did not have a lifeguard. We spend a lot of money and felt very disappointed.

Nice all inclusive resort. Has a secluded beach so it is very private.
