OUR 5 FAVES: ROMANTIC DESTINATIONS
Without a doubt, February is one of the most romantic months of the year, especially with Valentine’s Day having us feeling particularly all warm and fuzzy inside! To commemorate this loved-filled month, we asked our Destination Wedding Specialists to share their opinions on what they think is the most romantic destination to travel to. This is what they have to say!
Paris, France - "This is called the City of Love, and I believe it. As soon as you arrive, your senses are taken to the limit, especially with the sights of the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees, the fragrance of the city, the mood and style of the locals. You can be seduced with the array of French cuisine, baguettes and wines. A casual stroll down the sidewalks is to see whimsical store displays, colorful floral arrangements, old books and music. The fashion, and stores are beyond compare. A dinner cruise on the Seine, passing by the Eiffel Tower at night as it comes alive with lights, is one of the most romantic experiences you will know. Spending hours at the museums will create lifetime memories. Parisians are not afraid to show affections – visualize a small café, holding hands with your lover, sipping French champagne, while drinking in all the sights and sound – pure pleasure." - Susan
Vis Islands, Croatia - "It is a tiny little island virtually untouched by tourism and even with growing popularity of Croatia as a tourist destination, it has been able to retain is medieval Mediterranean charm. The island is full of beautiful beaches in the Adriatic, (much more secluded than any place I have been to)! Visitors can stroll through the town and visit the medieval buildings that are scattered throughout the island, or take a day trip to the blue and green caves. At night, they can enjoy an authentic, romantic dinner at one of the family run restaurants set in one of the many beautiful vineyards on the island. This island is a total gem in the Mediterranean and perfect for a quiet, romantic getaway!"
Bora Bora - "To be honest, I can’t just choose one, too tough! To be honest, you can make any place romantic! If I had to choose one, I would think Bora Bora would be the most romantic destination as it offers ultimate privacy, private romantic beach picnics, helicopter tours, stargazing, a good mix of adventure activities and water-sports with lots of downtime, the bluest water in the world, pristine beaches, …it’s the ultimate romantic haven for honeymooners or those wanting to spoil their loved one." - Ashley
Puerto Vallarta - "I think the most romantic destination is Puerto Vallarta. I’m a sucker for gorgeous sunsets and the palm trees there are so lush! Old Town in Puerto Vallarta and its unique shops and cobblestone streets, is perfect for a quiet glass of wine at a beach-side bistro. The perfect resort is the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta – nestled on its own semi-private beach with clear blue water, rooms face the ocean – perfect for watching the sunset. Planning a wedding? Why not have your ceremony on the gorgeous rooftop terrace where you can exchange your vows in the soft glow of the sun setting behind you."
Tensing Pen, Jamaica - "Tensing Pen in Negril Jamaica is an incredible place for couples. It’s laid back vibe and relaxing atmosphere means that you’re under NO PRESSURE to do anything but to sit back and enjoy. Aside from their tranquil atmosphere, you are also treated to beautiful beaches, blue skies and infinite sunny days. PLUS, it’s also where I got married, so I know for a fact that this is a romantic place ;)!" - Elizabeth
