At the time I booked my vacation at Bavaro Princess I did not think it would be such a disastrous experience. Below I explain the reasons: The customer/public service on the part of the employees is conspicuous by its absence, I was treated with little education and poor manners. Upon arrival at the suite we were notified that both suites were infested with mosquitoes and we had no solution to the problem. The food/drink is of very poor quality, I am not at all a sybarite or a picky eater but I also don't like the other extreme of not receiving even a minimum of quality for something I am paying for. Restaurants that are not a la carte have the detail that the prepared dishes have an extra cost, what is included in the bracelet is little more of the same as what is in the buffet.

We were two couples and one of the girls they accompanied cut herself with a drink at the time of the meal. They referred us to the establishment's medical center, where they refused to give first aid because the consultation had a cost of 250USD. We understand that it may have an extra cost but the problem lies in the ways used to communicate with us and, above all, the cocky treatment.

When I thought things couldn't get any worse, the suite's bathtub leaked water and the bathroom flooded, the response from reception? NONE!

But even so they made an effort to leave the bar of mediocrity in the clouds, when we left the luggage manager told us that it had to be a taxi from the hotel which had a rate double that of the Uber and he made us leave the premises loaded with suitcases to be able to board the Uber. The Uber driver told us that they are authorized but that it is part of the Creole way of life to want to scam tourists so that their colleagues can make a little more money.

Punta Cana very nice…

The experience at Bávaro Grand Princess Regrettable!

Think twice.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel with my 11years old daughter. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. Greisy was amazing and other staff but I don't remember all the names.Didnt really enjoyed the food though, it was pretty much the same.I really enjoyed the fruits 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and could not have asked for a better place to travel with my three children. And their age range. The staff was fantastic, particularly Jerry and Leidy. I stood in the family club, my suite overlooking the pool. I adored it and thought it was worth every penny. I love having my pool in my room; the kids loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this place.

Great Resort in size, services, attention and above all the very good and varied food. Excellent weekend that we enjoyed.

Everyone here is amazing! Food is absolutely delicious and the beaches have the whitest sand Ive ever seen. Room was amazing, never had any problems. Staff were super helpful whenever I needed anything. Be sure to tip the workers for the great service they provide!

The hotel is quite large, it has animals roaming around the gardens, peacocks, ducks and wild birds, the facilities are normal, the service is good, they have a restaurant reservation service like all hotels of this style, the variety of food Alright.
As a recommendation, bring mosquito repellent (I brought it because mosquitoes always bite me)
The lounge chair service on the beach and in the pool, it is better to take your towels to the room at night and go to reserve them very early, because otherwise, you will be left without lounge chairs 😅

The hotel is wonderful, great location, great rooms, very clean, everything. I would particularly like to mention the staff in the buffet restaurants and the two Evelyn and Freddy should be mentioned. Nice, friendly, accommodating and professional. Really great

One of the staff members stepped on my 12 years old foot and completely broke his nail which pretty much ruined the rest of our vacation since we couldn’t go in the pool nor ocean. The entertainer was acting completely recklessly and didn’t even care to apologize after it happened.
We went to see Customer service afterwards who suggested we put our son on a long chair and let him watch the other people have fun…not a single attempt to compensate us in any way or make my son’s trip more fun (that happened on his birthday). Also when an incident like this one happens the hotel makes YOU fill out the incident report.
We will gladly spend a little more next time and go to the Royalton which was impeccable at every level.

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately our room was already very shabby. And there was no closet for clothes. There wasn't a single German channel and the extra bed for the child was a wall bed that was very, very hard. The service in the hotel was great.

Grand Bavaro Princess surprised us positively. What a nice resort surrounded by nature, birds, ducks, iguanas. The beach where the resort is located is incredible. We booked their Platinum suite which I strongly recommend as it does not cost much more than their regular bungalows and offers several benefits such as exclusive restaurants, beach area and pool, as well as access to premium drinks. The majority of their staff is cordial and willing to help. One annoying thing is the presence of Royal Holiday salespeople which keep pushing conversation with you to try to sell their memberships. Just make sure you don't enter their golf carts and you will be fine.

Arlin gives Excellent customer service Very professional, pleasant, and warm

Reception: Lovely receptionist (don't remember his name) placed us in a suite equidistant to the lobby and beach ❤️

Room: The bungalow (basic) suite is beautiful and spacious. Enjoyed a bath in the luxurious tub. The power outlet in our bathroom needed some repair and they fixed it in a timely manner. We found the room to be too cold for our comfort. The thermostat did not seem to adjust properly. We turn off the AC at night and that made for a comfortable sleep. The room remained its cool temp. The sheets did not feel luxurious; it felt basic. Not a concern at all; just an observation.

Resort: ~20 mins from the airport. Massive resort with plenty of activities. Walking around the resort made me feel I'm in a luxury retirement community. I find the resort perfect for couples, group or family. If I were travelling solo (I've done a lot of it in the past), I MAY feel lonely here. There are opportunities to hang out with other travelers by the pool or beach volleyball, but everyone here seemed to be with someone. This resort has a very relaxed vibe, not a party vibe.

Cappuccino Bar (platinum area): We love coming here for caffeine, small treats and reading

Beach: Plenty of seating, gets busy so either arrive early AM or after lunch. The beach was not calm at the time of our visit (Feb 7-14). It had beginner surfing waves. No surfing offered at the resort though (or any of the neighbouring resorts). Unable to try the non-motorized sports because of the waves. We got to swim/play with the waves and that was fun.
There was music/DJ and dancing some nights by the beach. Beverage food truck was open for this.

Buffet: Christian from La Hispaniola (next to the lobby) is fantastic at the grill. He makes omelettes with love. There's another buffet conveniently located at the beach.

Food trucks at the beach: This was a brilliant idea! Quick and easy way to get food and drinks (during beach hours). I don't remember their names but BIG THANK YOU to the staff in the taco/roast chicken/paella station (menu rotates every day), fries and burgers station, beverage station. If you like lounging at the beach, these lovely people are your best friends ❤️

Il Tartufo Italian: Amazing food and killer dessert. Salomé was a great server and I would trust his recommendations. Beautiful, intimate decor. 'Floating' restaurant on the pond near the lobby. I would not recommend bringing children here (who wish to play around), nor loud rowdy behaviour from anyone to respect the intimate vibe, which I expected as an adult diner.
⭐ Caprese Royal, beef carpaccio, osso bucco, grilled branzino, chocolate tartufo, pana cotta

Hacienda: We enjoyed the Mexican flavours here. Dessert was OK. We ate here twice. Jose Miguel was a great server; also great with taking pictures.
⭐ Shrimp aguachile, pozole, beef steak tampiqueña, grouper fillet in Veracruz sauce, tacos Bajos California, tres leches, churros

Rebel 24-hr sports bar: They serve strong drinks. Pub food was okay. Being open 24h is a great option.

El Gaucho: The buffet at the beach turns into a steakhouse at dinner time.
⭐ Zucchini carpaccio, arugula salad with beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, filet mignon, lemon pie, chocolate cake

Pescador seafood: The food we had here was a bit disappointing. Lovely service though.
👍🏼 Pineapple and shrimp cocktail, plantain canastita stuffed with seafood, lobster bisque (barely tasted the lobster flavour), red snapper in saffron sauce (too salty), creme brulee, mango parfait; the desserts are more like pudding
⭐Mahi mahi ceviche, fried FOD - tilapia,

Lobby Bar: We loved going here for night caps. If you come around 6pm, you can catch the piano man. We found the drinks here to taste somewhat 'watered down'. Not an issue for me. The staff there are fun to be around. Great energy.

Lobby patio: The live band was great. Dancing to beautiful Spanish music was one of my favourite parts of this trip. Positive energy from everyone here.

Overall, we recommend this resort and would definitely go back. Hope this comprehensive review helps.

Their rooms are 100/100
A place with good food and a lot of variety of food
A super nice atmosphere

We spent a week in this hotel in the first half of February with my husband. The location is great, in my opinion this hotel has the best and largest beach (we walked along the entire coast on our side). Every morning the beach is cleared of algae, although during this period there is not too much of it. Despite the fact that some people occupied sunbeds before 7 am, we never had any problems finding free ones at any time of the day.
The territory is very large and very well-groomed, there is even a mangrove forest, there are many different birds, peacocks generally walk in crowds, there are even flamingos. Despite the size of the hotel area, everything is very clean.
In addition to buffets, there are restaurants, places for which you need to book on the hotel website, there are no problems with this, since reservations open only 2 days in advance.
For those with a platinum bracelet, there is a separate buffet for breakfast and lunch, plus a couple of restaurants. The food is not bad, there is a lot to choose from, but sometimes I wanted even more variety, I really liked that there was a lot of fruit. Alcohol, of course, is not the best, but it’s far from the worst, in general it’s ok here.
The plumbing was not the best, we had a “honeymoon” room, the shower was really old, but there were no problems with hot water. The room was cleaned every day.
You can change your beach towels yourself whenever you want.
There are mini buses running around the area if you suddenly don’t want to walk to another part of the hotel, because sometimes you actually have to walk about 1 km to get to a restaurant, for example, or a buffet.
The staff is friendly, cheerful, and since there are a lot of people, you will always find someone to turn to.

In general, the hotel is a solid four. I recommend visiting.

This is a beautiful modern resort with immaculate grounds, a perfect beach and relaxed atmosphere. The resort is quite large and spread out and you never feel overcrowded or overwhelmed by crowds. I would definitely come back to this resort again!

PROS:
-The beach-priceless
-Smaller buildings -quieter
-Easy to get around
-Decent entertainment at night with live bands, DJs and singers
-mostly families and couples, no loud, crazy partying from hotel guests
-Modern aesthetic
-CAPPUCCINO cafe (my fav) A must!!!, several times a day to enjoy a frappe and fresh airy outdoor space. Borys runs a tight ship.
-platinum level beach area /seating
-casino located at entrance of resort
-incense for mosquitos , never got bit once
-beautiful animals like peacocks ducks and flamingos around /nature reserve. Lush!
-buffet and patio right on the beach

CONS:
-ROOMS need better cleaning, very humid/nothing gets dry and or smell mouldy. Rooms are swarmed by little flies constantly that come out of nowhere!
-the ACs are very finicky. we only got water replenished once but cleaning staff were very nice
FOOD-not good but this is constant across the board for Dominican even at 5star hotels. The food trucks are a nice touch though and you will find something to eat at the buffet. I ate pizza fries hot dogs and crepes for a week, and it was ok; on some nights rotisserie chicken and it was decent. I'm very weary of getting sick hence my food choices but they worked for me. The hamburger meat is disgusting. The food at the buffet sometimes seems old/not fresh. Too many flies by the cheese area. The a la carte restaurants are a waste of time except the Japanese tappanyaki experience which is "kind" of fun.
-hard to find beach seating unless you leave towels overnight and or claim seats in one way or another
-terribly slow service at the beach buffet and patio
-avoid anyone wearing a pink shirt from royal holiday promising you a free welcome gift and massage

And last but not least --tip tip tip for any kind of service.

We traveled during Carnival, it was very pleasant, I suggest upgrading to Platinum, different food and environments away from overcrowding. It served very well.

We stayed for 3 nights. I will tell you right off the top that the rooms are very nice. There are 12 bungalow type rooms per building. Dozens of rooms to available.
Food:
I would say next that if you are seeing on the advertisements that this is an adult-only, all inclusive resort, it is not. Lots of families. If you are traveling with kids of any age, this is a great option. Kids water park, hotdogs, hamburgers, French fries, and even Fanta Orange soda on the beach. (Food trucks) oh yes, all the ice cream you could possibly eat.
The daily buffets are pretty amazing. For each session, breakfast, lunch or dinner, make sure to get there early. Even tho' it is open for all of these meals, the freshest food is at the earliest times. If you want a great omelet, go see Christian in the choose your ingredient area.
Crepes, with pretty much anything you could imagine in and on them.
Tons of drink options, I recommend the Miami Vice, non alcohol version. Just ask, they will make you one.
There are 4 or 5 specialty restaurants on property. Make reservations the day before on the Princess app. Every room must make thier own reservations. If you have a large group, each couple/family must make their own reservations. The Tempenyaki grill has a max of 10 guests at each table/griddle.
The Italian pizza/pasta and desert, and bar was amazing! Fresh dough, ingredients, garlic and cheese bread sticks, ravioli, salmon tortorlini, pizza, and lasagna. All great picks.
Beer, wine, soda, filtered water, and both alcoholic and "virgin" specialy drinks are available. They even have French fries and chicken nuggets avail for kids. Mac and cheese, salads, and deserts, including ice cream and chocolate lava cake!

Tipping:
Please tip well, even out at the food trucks, you will make a friend, and the servers won't forget you, they will spoil you even more.

Warning: this is a membership purchasing opportunity resort, owned by Royal Cruise and resort properties.

If you don't want to spend 2 to 3 hours of your day looking at buying in to a $10k plus membership to over 4500 properties World-wide, stay clear of the guys in the Salmon colored shirts. If you do want to participate, I am putting in a plug for Eric. Tell him Cary sent you his way. Great young man, no pressure sales associate. He will not sugar coat anything, very friendly, and a new family man. Only works on Sunday, so ask for him directly!

Shopping:
Many stores, offering everything from diapers, feminine hygiene products to duty free bottles. Great pricing. All kinds of clothes, souvenirs, snacks, ibuprofen, and toys, goggles, snorkeling tools, boogie boards.
Chocolate, doritos, and Pringle.

Over-all I give it a 4.2 stars. Some of the staff seem to have a slight distain for Americans, bur overall a great place. You can use USD or euros on property or Dominican pesos. Exchange rates apply, and are NOT in your favor. Take lots of $1.00/$5.00 bills with you.
Hope this was helpful!

Great resort beach is nice stuff is helpful room is clean

This has now become my go to vacation spot! the staff is really friendly, the beach is beautiful and the resort has everything you need. I cannot wait to go back!
