Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort and Spa Vacations

The rooms and property are worthy of five stars. The service, however, was tarnished by a pushy sales team at every corner aggressively attempting to sell excursions and timeshares. The foodservice program was another big disappointment as it was riddled with unseasoned food with poor temperature control.

Property: 6/10. The style of the property and rooms are nice -- a bit more modern and minimalist than most others. The room we had was cleaned very well. The BIG downside of this property is that it's actually two buildings -- the main building where you check in at the lobby (where our room was) is not connected to their second building which contains their main beach club pool, restaurants, and club lounge. If your room is in the main building, it really dampens the experience having to walk outside, and cross an area where there are typically cars and people trying to solicit stuff. A non-ideal setup compared to other resorts that are more contained like Hyatt Ziva on the SJD side of Cabo. Cool views of the marina.

Service: 6/10. The service was lackluster, and really falls short of the 5-star class this resort is supposed to be in. It did not feel like a $600/night kind of resort. Room service was very inconsistent -- multiple days our room was skipped for service despite the "no privacy" sign absent from our door. When we DID get our room serviced, it was strangely inconsistent. The mini bar would be restocked, but plates from morning room service would not have been cleared and the bed wasn't remade. Feels a bit privileged to nitpick that, but my past experience at other resorts is that everything would be reset. We often got asked if we were happy with the service, but if they had put more effort into the service itself (rather than just performatively asking each time they saw us), it would have been better. We DID get great service from select waiters and bartenders though, staff was generally friendly.

For Hyatt loyalists or those who look forward to club access benefits, this resort's club lounge is underwhelming compared to other Hyatt properties. The club lounge wasn't often stocked with food -- and we stopped by at many different times of the day. The people servicing the club lounge bar didn't seem very friendly, either. It was fine, but not 5-star service (using Hyatt Ziva in SJD as a comparison). You can definitely get stronger drinks that tasted less watered down at the club lounge though.

Food: 6.5/10. As you can expect with any all-inclusive, food is pretty mid, but not bad. Their seafood tapas restaurant Fish Nets actually had some delicious stuff (like their scallops entree!). The downside of their restaurants is it seemed pretty understaffed and so service was pretty slow, even when it didn't seem crowded on a Wednesday night.

Went as a couple in our 30s. Disappointed to say the least.
1. Main pool is in a second building, takes about a 10 min walk to get there. Keep this in mind.
2. Older crowd, would say this more 40 to 50 crowd.
3. Food is not good. Have to wait forever for food as well. Only thing is decent is the pool food.
4. Service is hit or miss , some staff is super friendly others don’t seem to be too happy.
5. We got part of the xhale club, main pool bar only seems to have higher end alcohol at certain times. They have higher end alcohol at the lounge.
6. No swim up bar.

Positive thing the pool has a nice view and location.

We won’t be returning.

I attended a family wedding in March at Breathless Cabo San Lucas. This is in the Hyatt Inclusive Collection. My expectations were high based on what I read about this collection. Sadly, I was very disappointed by my experience and stay. The first morning I discovered the coffee maker was broken. It was replaced for the 2nd day. I requested more coffee and restocking the mini fridge. Neither of which happened. I discovered every day the room was cleaned and resupplied on a random basis with no consistency on what was restocked or how the room was prepared. The resort is spread out over multiple buildings, elevators and access. Numerous people in the wedding party were confused and uncertain how to navigate through the property. Lack of signage or assistance made finding your way around frustrating. The three restaurants at the Beach Club were closed (which was supposed to be an inclusive benefit). Instead they offered a buffet on the beach with no handicap access, which for several people in the wedding party had extreme difficulty getting there. The buffet featured a salad bar that was not restocked or replenished. The last ones through the line were picking at morsels to make a salad. They had a grill with fresh steak. However, it was so tough and full of gristle that most of us could not eat it. The other buffet items reminded of typical warmed over buffet restaurant lines with limited freshness or appeal. The best feature of this resort is its central location, but I think you could find much better choices and amenities nearby.

Breathless in Cabo has an astounding location next to the Marina District, walk out the entry and you're effectively in the Marina with access to a huge numbers of bars, sports pubs, restaurants and eateries. Breathless facility in great, the wait staff service is equally great. The food is very good but this year was a little limited in choices due to what I believe are staffing shortages. There were nights that one restaurant or another would be closed and the same wait staff would be working in an adjacent restaurant... 5 restaurant choices but not all are available every night. Quality of the food remained very good; I had a lasagna meal that I'd rate in the top 3 ever so excellent. Every room has the view of the attached pic, lasagna pic, other select pics from their private beach to their quiet infinity pool.

Great hotel. Awesome views, food is delicous. Nice gym. Pool and views are great. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas is an amazing place to get married!!!
We were married at the Purple Rooftop Lounge and it was spectacular! Angelica Pina was our wedding coordinator at Breathless and she was amazing throughout all the planning. Angelica guided us along the way and she is the main reason why we had such a perfect wedding. Every detail of our entire week was covered impeccably by Angelica Pina. Angelica is the best and we thank you so much! Our room was decorated before and after our wedding with rose petals in our bedroom. Spectacular! Gabriel and Maryfer were also helpful during our stay at Breathless making our wedding memorable and we also really appreciate them. From the beginning, our ride by Amstar went smoothly and we were welcomed beautifully at Breathless. Gabriela did my make up and hair for two days and a massage and she was amazing. Thank you Gabriela! Anna gave my husband his massage and she was also excellent. Edith Jaramillo and Daniel Quintero at encore was an excellent DJ. Laura Davao’s from Feelm Storytellers and our photographer and video man were wonderful and we can’t wait to see our photos and video! All the restaurants were awesome including; Bites, The Nook for our cappuccinos, Ocote with Misael, Spoon for a breakfast buffet, Spumante, Wink, and the Xhale Club Lounge, with our favorite bartender, Vianey. Adrian on the beach was great keeping us secure. Although all our meals were delectable, our favorite meal by far was at Nikkei with Chef Alejandro and his assistant. It was one of our favorite meals of all time! The experience was wonderful and we thank both Alejandro and his assistant tremendously! Our last evening we had a private dinner at the beach with Carlos our waiter. I do not know the name of the Bartender/waiter, but he made an amazing Mexican Lamborghini for us during our final romantic dinner on the beach. It was super special.

Upon enquiring about reservations at this hotel I was left in an ally and not allowed in by security to discuss anything. After being turned away I was offered cocaine not 10 ft away. I’m a professional person that doesn’t drink or smoke and am well put together. This is the first time I’ve actually been scared in Mexico after being here 20+ times. I recommend going elsewhere.

The food is absolutely horrible. I mean all of it. If you want great views of the marina, and plan on eating all of your meals out, then this could be your place. Every time we ordered room service, it came ice cold. Every time we ate at a restaurant, it tasted like it had been sitting for hours. Steak dry af, chicken dry af, octopus rubbery, lobster gross. I complained to the concierge, and to make it right, they set us up with a dinner on our last night catered by the executive chef. The dinner was nice, but the food was still the exact same stuff, a joke. A pretty plate with food that had been cooked, hours before. I had 2 rooms there, paid for 2 rooms 5 nights, 4 days, and feel like I got robbed, big time. Don't go here if you like good food. The only good meal was the breakfast served on the pool deck.

This place is absolutely incredible! The service is top notch! The property is amazing with breathtaking views! The food is good also. You will meet and hang out with so many cool and fun people. You're walking distance from the marina and the beach is right next door.
The pool isn't deep but it's a nice vibe with a great DJ . It overlooks the beach.
In Cabo, the people are so friendly and warm! It's a phenomenal place! I had so much fun! You owe it to yourself to go!!

Jessi was amazing in engaging activities with our group! Felipe anticipated our needs at Spoon. Alejandra tolerated our many requests without hesitation. Eduardo got out yacht sunset cruise scheduled. Mauricio made sure we had everything we needed. Luis was a great chef!
Everyone at Breathless Los Cabo was amazing. This was our second time here and it did not disappoint!

Restaurants close early. Service is very slow everywhere. They are not attentive for it to be a luxury resort. Food is mediocre. Entertainment is so-so. Rooms are basic. TV only had regular channels available and were fuzzy. Met some nice people that helped with the experience but definitely not worth it. Only good thing is the marina view.

What I didn't like is that it is more focused on foreign tourists than on national tourism, Los Cabos is a very cool place but it does have that detail

Great location near the Marina. Was safe to go out and walk the Marina full of shopping, bars and restaurants. A little tricky with the 2 buildings being separated so the walk from room to spa/pool/beach took a day or so to get accustomed to. Food was ok, not really anything authentic or overwhelmingly good but it was ok. Buy the Xhale upgrade for better liquor and spa access.
