One of the most beautiful hotels I have visited and the very friendly employees help a lot

Excellent service, recommended

It was an excellent experience

This all inclusive resort in Costa Rica unfortunately did not meet expectations. The resorts ground are absolutely beautiful. It was like an oasis in the desert. All around the outside of the resort was dead trees and cactuses, nothing like my previous trip to Costa Rica. Monkeys do visit the ground but there aren’t any sloths, toucans, macaws or other tropical animals known in Costa Rica. All of this was fine though, we were very excited to see the monkeys. The major disappointment was the food. We tried multiple different restaurants and the food was all but inedible. Extremely disappointing since it was a primary feature being an all inclusive resort. There’s also no Costa Rican food at all. We also tried to get reservations at one of the restaurants weeks in advance and were told they don’t take reservations. So we arrived promptly at opening time to secure a table only to be told there were no tables because people with reservations were ahead of us. About 2/3rd of our party got food poisoning and were extremely sick. The drinks seemed very watered down. We purchased the “preferred rooms” only to find that no one was monitoring who used the preferred locations so it was “exclusive” at all. The rooms were exactly the same as the non preferred. There wasn’t much to do at the resort other than swimming in the pool or ocean. All of the excursions were to places several hours away. The rooms were nice, comfortable beds. There was a hot tub on the balcony which was nice but mine had hair leftover in it from the previous guest which was unsettling. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Another thing that bothered me was that my husband wasn’t able to attend the trip anymore but I wasn’t allowed any kind of refund whatsoever. Of course I understand that I can’t get the room charge back for him but not even a partial refund for the food/drinks that he wouldn’t be using felt wrong.
Overall this place is nice if you want a vacation to sit by the pool and not experience any of actual Costa Rica at all, otherwise find somewhere else.

Excellent place.
Good attention

My wife and I recently returned from our wedding in Dreams Las Mareas in Costa Rica. Not only is this one of the most beautiful and well-maintained all-inclusive resorts I've ever been to, but our Wedding Coordinator, Andrea Traña, is one of the most remarkable people I've ever met. From the day we were introduced to her, she was absolutely incredible! She was super attentive to all of our needs leading up to and on the day of our wedding, and so kind. Words cannot express our immense gratitude towards her attention to detail and level of care. The way she seamlessly took care of everything and coordinated with the rest of the staff made what could have been a stressful event absolutely stress-free. She turned our wedding day into a dream. Everything we heard about our event from our guests to our photographers was nothing short of breathtaking. It could not have been the wedding it was without Andrea. If you are planning a wedding, we cannot recommend this resort enough. Even if you're just looking for a vacation, it is beautiful. The food is incredible, the choices are plentiful, the staff are the friendliest I've ever encountered, and the grounds have to be seen to be believed. Tons to do on the resort itself and lots of excursions offered if you wish to leave the resort. I cannot wait to return again and again.

This place is beautiful. The views from building 3 were fantastic. The. Pools are all really nice but beware . I heard lots of people slipped around the pools causing fractures to multiple guests.
We rented the Bali beds at the lower pools and it was totally worth it, especially with two small children. It gives them break from the sun. Also a good spot to apply sunscreen. The bars were all pretty good. I do have a couple of cons with this resort even though I would go back.
There is very little storage space for a family of four in the room. Not a big deal but I'm surprised that there wasn't enough and we had to utilize our suitcase as one of the drawers.
The buffet was good for breakfast but we caught it at night one night as we didn't want to wait for the Italian restaurant and it was horrendous. All the food was cold and seemed like it was a couple days old. Italian restaurant was pretty good along with the Mexican restaurant. The sushi restaurant was really good, surprisingly good. The French restaurant was crap however which was disappointing seeing as we visited a secrets resort and loved it, but here not worth it. If you do come here, bring plenty of sunscreen and a swim shirt because if you miss a sunscreen application you will get burned. And the price of a swim shirt at the hotel is 70 US dollars.

Expensive as you would expect it but you get the vip treatment

This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive resort. Based on the price of the rooms and online descriptions, I had HIGH hopes. I have vacationed in Bermuda and Hawaii and assumed the amenities would be just as nice -- or nicer! I was SO disappointed! The rooms were terrible -- stale smelling with strong notes of mold and mildew (you can see picture of a curtain that hung right by my bed with BLACK MOLD)--and housed a toilet and shower with very little privacy. Both had glass doors that did not meet the ceiling. Yes, they were frosted but you could still see and hear your roommate on the toilet or showering!

There were no snacks in the room. The fridge had 2 bottles of water, 2 bottles of beer, and 2 bottles of soda. The toiletries reminded me of things you would find in a Dollar Tree store. I have traveled a good amount and always enjoy trying the high-quality products offered in the bathrooms. I could not get over the cheap and pedestrian things offered here.

The doors to the balcony did not have screens which meant monkeys could easily get into the room (and one did and helped himself to a sugar packet! -- funny story but not fun during a vacation).

The food at all of the restaurants and pools were awful. I have had better Lean Cuisine microwavable meals. The pizza was cooked in a wood-fired oven. How did something so gross come out!? How can desserts be so bad? I would choose a donut from Dunkin Donuts over these churros (pictured) any day.

The pools were nice and the shining star of the resort. While there were many pools to choose from, most areas lacked chairs, which was strange since there was plenty of room. We barely saw any staff during our pool days so did not enjoy many pool-side tropical drinks.

The beach is small and public. Locals sell drugs and other things like jewelry. The water is murky and difficult to see sea life. During my time there (4 days) I was aware of TWO people who were stung by jellyfish. The sand has a rough.

The ride to-and-from the airport is 2 hours and bumpy. In total, I spent 12 hours in travel time each way. For the effort and cost of this trip, it was not worth it AT ALL! I once stayed at a hotel in Marco Island years ago that was MUCH nicer (rooms, beach, restaurants, and amenities) for a fraction of the travel time or cost. I think beaches in the Cape are better.

In conclusion: with SO many options for travel, pick nearly anywhere else--even if it costs more (which by the way before arriving I called to see if I could extend for one night and was quoted $1,633!!), you will be happier with far less regret.

Dreams is a great luxury resort with great staff willing to help at every corner. Most of the restaurants have good food and a few have great food. Lots of pools and a nice beach. We had a day of excursions that included a private tour with our group of 5. We rode horses went tubing down rapids visited the waterfall and even went shopping in La Cruz. It was a once in lifetime experience with our excellent tour guide Kenneth he is a must but you will find him on the beach on right side of resort. Great guy and knows everything. Even got vip service at mud bath and hot springs. Ask for Kenneth.
