The hotel has good facilities in general, the details that disappoint are: the mattresses are very old, therefore uncomfortable. It seems to me that a more assortment of fish and seafood is needed. One of the elevators was out of service for a few days, so going down or up took a long time to wait. Excellent service from all the people at the hotel.

The taxi to the hotel is quite fast, it only took us 20 minutes from the airport to the lobby where they welcome you with some very cold wet towels, ideal for cooling off in the Oaxaca climate.
While you check in, the only annoying thing was the conversation after reception where they take time to explain a series of coupons that you can exchange for “gifts” that really are discounts, we never used them.
Our room was excellent, we rested very well in bed, the climate and the drinks at hand could not be missing, you have everything you need except quality TV, the screen is very nice but it is not smart and the local programming leaves a lot to be desired, The jacuzzi was very nice but we wasted a lot of water because they empty it every day, so we didn't use it as much as we wanted.
The hotel is very clean at all times and the people are very friendly. Every day they open different restaurants with a very varied buffet and everything is delicious, especially the oriental restaurant where they pampered us a lot. The only one that I don't recommend so much is Portofino, apparently they have an excellent selection. of wines but the food leaves a lot to be desired.
The pools are varied and the water temperature is perfect, but although the hotel's policy is not to reserve lounge chairs, the people's policy is different, so it is a good idea to get up early.
During the course of the week they have different interesting events such as mezcal tasting, yoga, etc. During our stay we had the eclipse for which it would have been excellent if they organized something, but there was nothing.
The service at the pools is very good, the only detail is that they never bring you the alcohol you order, they always bring you the "battle", if you want a well-prepared cocktail drink you have to go get it at the bar.
In short, it is an excellent option to rest, just consider that 90% of the people are older people, 19% families and I think we were the only young honeymoon couple.

excellent place to enjoy the beach

I’m mystified that this place has the rating it does. Are people paid to leave told ones?? It’s incredibly mediocre. The check in sucks, they don’t tell you anything about the report, they don’t show you to your rooms, time of the main pools is missing so many tiles, it looks terrible. They say you’re now allowed to go and put towels on chairs but that isn’t enforced at all. Some staff members are great but overall nothing special. The buffet is not very good for anything other than breakfast. Oh and the a/c pretty much anywhere but the rooms is almost non-existent. The buffet is sooo hot and no fans either. Elevators are like saunas. So many floor tiles loose, rooms need to be updated. Our shower sprayed above the glass and all if we the entire bathroom. The poolside drink service is really slow…15 minutes or more to get a drink, even when it’s not busy. No swim up bar. No Asian restaurant show. No vendors at night. Half the time we had no hot water. I could keep going. We will not be back.

I went to a talk to get to know the place, it is very nice, the saleswoman is excellent, the attention 👍🏻 we came away convinced of the advantages, with a great coverage of places to travel, for a better quality to stay, all-inclusive food, comfort in our upcoming trips 🤗

Excellent experience and very good customer service.

Here is my honest review upon freshly returning from a 7 day WestJet family vacation to Dreams Huatulco with a family of 8 including 3 younger children.
Firstly, let me say that I’m glad I went on this vacation to Huatulco Mexico but I do not think I would return to this particular resort. The shuttle to and from the Airport as part of our package was great. The service provided at Dreams for the most part was very good, but there are a few exceptions.
Pay attention to resort credit rules because they cannot be applied at checkout they have to be applied in real time and need to be signed, you have to see someone at check in and get physical credits, this process was not explained clearly.
We signed off on a checklist all guests are supposed to follow. This checklist includes a 30 minute rule for holding poolside chairs. NO ONE FOLLOWS THIS RULE, and we learned this the hard way. So if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em . . . I guess. Personally I think a vacation should not include having to wake up at 5 or 6 am to go down and claim your chairs for the day. This was easily the most annoying part of our trip!
I along with others in our family were given a hard time when we needed to get pool towels. I was personally made to feel as though I was taking too many towels or inconveniencing the towel attendant on more than one occasion. We had 8 of us on this trip split between two rooms, so we need 8 towels once we are done at the pool for the day. There were days when the towels run out and you have to wait 20-30 for them to replenish (everyone takes fresh towels to their rooms for the next morning poolside chair rush).
The resort does show its age. Cracked floor tiles, slathered on paint, foundation settling, patches etc however it is very clean. The cleaning staff do an excellent job!
Food was adequate but often repetitive. I would give it a 6/10. They had issues keeping the food replenished in a timely manner on several occasions. I would think a resort that’s been around this long is working like a well oiled machine but that isn’t the case.
The pasta bar at the buffet has only one burner so it’s one order at a time. The burger bar in the lacks efficiency and takes way longer than necessary. There is no poolside food available. The Italian restaurant onsite is adult only.
Order room service via the telephone and not the app, it’s much faster. There are quite a few members of staff that do not speak or understand English, just something to note. Would be a good idea to have a basic understanding of Spanish or use Google Translate.
Be aware the ice used at this resort for drinks is not made with filtered water.
There are a total of 6 pools, two of which are adult only (not including the kids club pool). The small tiles that line all pools can be missing and the kids did get scrapes and scratches due to this issue, just something to be mindful of. The pools are still great and where we spent the majority of our days.
The beach is incredible, soft sand, warm clear water, a spot famous for snorkeling. The town is quiet, clean, safe and welcoming also it’s not too far from the resort.
So there are pro’s and con’s just like any All-Inclusive for us Dreams Huatulco will more than likely be one and done, I hope you find this helpful.

The place is excellent, even though the hotel is very old, everything is remodeled and in excellent condition, the room has a very comfortable bed and the first day they brought us a bottle of sparkling wine with delicious white chocolate covered strawberries. At the end of the beach there are very docile fish that are not afraid of tourists, the sea is very calm and with little waves.
It has I think 5 pools, one for adults only. The restaurants are very good with very delicious buffet food, there is a formal a la carte restaurant.

I went for a work convention and I was very amazed by the friendly attention of the staff, the location of the hotel, its law firms, etc.
I hope to return soon with my entire family...

It was an excellent experience

The Dreams and the Brisas are the hotels you have to visit if you want to spend an unforgettable vacation. Highly recommended.

If you want a wonderful clean experience this is the place

A little far from everything but very nice hotel and facilities, an all-inclusive hotel that is very nice

Excellent hotel in Huatulco, very clean rooms, very professional service and has the best restaurants in town, love Italian food

All super and luxury service attended by the capo roller and staff

Very good drinks, and slightly tasteless food, but it is understandable due to the diversity of palates of other cultures.
Very nice paths and if you have the condition you can go take a photo at the sign, walk through its beautiful Tangolunda bay with many little fish near the rocks that you can climb and cross to El Rinconcito beach which is beautiful

Overall it is a great hotel with excellent beach, pools and restaurants. There are some activities, although when we went the place was 80% occupied by Americans 45 and older, so they had the full attention of the staff. A few meters away there are some businesses for small purchases of pharmacy or sunscreen, pool supplies, etc. at much lower prices. They have a kids club that we didn't use, but it looked promising

It is the second time I have visited this hotel, the first was about 7 years ago and everything was spectacular so on this occasion (March 2024), I had very high expectations.
The room was very nice and comfortable, just a couple of details, the shower has half a screen so the water inevitably splashes on the outside causing me to slip at least 3 times even when I was wearing slippers.
The hair dryer has the high level locked so if you have long hair it will take you forever trying to dry yourself with a low air level. They seem like small things but they are details that lower the quality of the hotel.
Another thing is that in theory it is not allowed to set aside lounge chairs, however it is a daily occurrence and from very early on there are already towels set aside; Reading other opinions I realize the same complaint and the hotel's response to all of them is that they will work to improve it but it is evident that they do not do so, if that were the case, the same complaint would not be repeated.
The buffet food was repetitive and nothing like the first time I went; Of the specialty restaurants, my favorite was the Asian one, the Italian one was also passable but the one that was very disappointing was Ocena, which is the seafood restaurant, although the menu of all of them is very limited, Ocena's didn't even have a good taste, it's Passable but not good, one would expect in a place where there is the sea, which is all inclusive and which has a restaurant specializing in seafood, to have a much more extensive and better tasting menu.
Another thing that I didn't like is that you are constantly approached by staff trying to convince you to talk to you about the benefits of being a preferred member by joining their membership. I understand that all hotels try to sell you options of that type, but from the reception, once you check in, you someone approaches, what happened to me was that first the girl greeted us, she asked us if we were celebrating something, I told her it was an anniversary and she immediately told me that she would send a courtesy to our room (a bottle of wine and a basket of fruits). , he asked me what day I would like it, I told him the next day and he already wrote it down in his pending, after that he began to talk about a brief talk to learn about the benefits of membership, I told him that I thanked him but that no We were interested, he insisted but in the end he stopped pressing, and oooobviously the courtesy that he initially promised to send never arrived, so he shouldn't have offered it from the start, but rather waited for me to accept his talk or at least mention that if he accepted He could send me courtesy, not compromise it before.
The waiter service in the pool area starts at 11 in the morning, so if you arrive early in that area and want a drink, you must go to the bar to get them. The 5 days I was there I consider there were not enough waiters in those areas, and I repeat, nothing like the first time I visited them where there were several people serving and the "Can I bring you something to drink?" It was constant.
The redeeming feature, the Noche de Asado event was very nice, to have a table in front and have a better view of the shows they would have, it is necessary to buy a bottle, we ordered the cheapest red wine just to secure a place in front, but if you are not very interested, You don't buy anything and they place you at the tables further back sharing with other guests.
The captain of the waiters was a beautiful person, attentive, helpful, making us feel welcome and always with a smile, which was just what we remembered from our first visit but in all the staff, this one was more X.
