Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa Vacations

Not a good experience at all. For spending 2400 dollars for 1 adult and 2 kids under the age of 10 was ridiculous. Get to room, it was very basic, no balcony, phone didn’t work in room to call for room service for 4-5 days, was told 4 times someone would come, nobody ever came. Upon arrival first day room floor was completely soaked in water, nobody ever came for that either, toilet was stopped up, nobody came to fix it, room wasn’t cleaned for 2-3 days, had to go down stairs every time i needed towels or room service because phone didn’t work, room service brings whatever they want instead of what’s ordered. Just a bad experience overall for the amount of money paid. Only good thing was the beach and boat ride.

Dreams Sands Cancun has the most beautiful beach. Had a wonderful ocean view room. Great meals at the restaurants. They had an energetic activity team led by Emmanuel and included Leilani, Angelo, Tino and Manuel. Many activities for guests at the resort. We enjoyed all the restaurants. Servers took time to take care of the guests. Rooms were clean. I will return.

I do not recommend it! I had reserved 2 rooms with partial ocean view, one of them with 2 beds, upon arrival they told me that they do not have the room with 2 beds available but I can upgrade to the Preferred by paying $500 USD and if we attended a breakfast at Dreams Vista Cancun that supposedly lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, they were going to give us $400 USD in coupons, which is all a lie! They made me pay the difference $1800 pesos and sign a promissory note that if I did not attend the breakfast they would charge me the $400 USD, the next day ready to go to breakfast the sales manager arrives and explains to us that we are going to a breakfast to offer us a membership, something that they don't explain to you at the beginning, when we ask her questions she gets upset and tells us that we are wasting a lot of time with her, that those of us who are going to take breakfast will be late and all this is a LIE! It was a nightmare, we arrived at breakfast and lost 4 hours of our vacation, apart from the fact that they want to sell it to you and they get upset if you tell them that you are not interested, they act rude, the saleswoman then told us why they came if they were going to to be like that with her face and we told her that they took us with deception and then her manager comes up to us and tells us, well, give her her coupons, that's all they came for and here we wait for the next eclipse in mockery! This hotel is not worth it as we paid for better rooms, they don't even lock the bathroom door, they give preference to foreigners. If you are a national, they treat you with a bad face. The only redeemable thing is the beach! This beautiful!

-Food wasn't the best but Porto Restaurant was good
-Customer Service was excellent. Not one rude person
-No Night activities during my stay. Was looking forward to it
-Was harassed to visit a TimeShare presentation
-Room was a bit raggedy. Don't look like pictures. Shower felt like you were going to fall to the room below you
-Towels were dingy
-Drinks were watered down
-Beach was excellent (chairs and umbrella)
-Lobby was clean and smelled great
- Room did not have balcony.
-Wifi wasn't so good. I missed a lot of important calls
Don't think I would visit again unless I'm compensated for this visit. Updated rooms, drinks and food are what's important to me

Stayed in April 2024. This is an average hotel that shows signs of aging. Focused to upsell clients. Narrow beach with limited seating capacity, especially that a good portion of it is reserved to those that upgraded to « preferred’ » status (70$ / day) and those that purchase bottle service … for the rest .. good luck. Quality of drinks is below average.

Good exceeded its capacity in beach services excellent cuisine

This hotel deserves 3 stars at best. I have no complaints whatsoever with the food and I’m a picky eater. The rooms need to be updated badly. When soaking in the tub it feels like the shower is still on. No balcony even though we paid for a preferred room. Which basically gets you nothing. Come back to a cleaned room with no towels… then no bath mat and on our last night we came back to our rooms to find our robes missing that we had to ask for a few days earlier. Excursions are a rip off. Nothing is ever free so remember that. A free ride to playa will get you stuck for three hours in a silver store and tequila store before you get there. And then you're dropped almost to the beach in a restaurant that is blocks away from the shopping because there is some kind of cooked up deal with the place to get business. By the time you crawl out of there your shoes are full of sand. Then you have about 1 1/2 hrs left to shop on an almost 8 hr day. This was just the worst. We’ve been at dreams resorts many times just not this one.
Won’t be returning. Also took us three days to get our money back from a tour that was cancelled.

Rooms a little old and some without balconies. A little disappointing for a Dreams.
Exceptional services, excellent cleanliness and superb beach!

Our family had a great time this week at Dreams Sands, I will definitely give 5 stars! This was our second time to Cancun , we stayed in Moon Palace the Grand last year , and no doubt that was a great family friendly resort and everything great! This year we decided to try a different all inclusive resort so we just picked Dreams Sands from Expedia . To be honest , I didn’t have a lot of expectations and I thought no comparison to Moon Palace. However , this resort gives us a lot of surprises!

At first , all staffs from restaurants , bars, front desks/ cleanings are very friendly and helpful! They always smile and say hola, whatever I have any questions or anything need help, they did help me immediately.

Secondly , the resort has 5 restaurants and coffee bars, we tried everything except Italian. I think the food quality is great. Plus the coffee latte is the best ever I had before! We stayed there for 6 days, coco cafe is so convenient, I had at least two cups of latte every day , I would say the coffee quality is better than Starbucks . Comparing with Moon Palace the Grand , you don’t have to wait for a long time for dinner, basically no waiting time for all restaurants. Last year we have to stand in a long line for 1.5-2 hours for the popular restaurants. So this would be a big plus since we saved time for doing other activities. For restaurants, i like Asian, buffet , and also olio. For buffet , ceviches are so good! The cakes are tasty, I am a dessert person but always like those less sweet, the cakes are very delicious and not very sweet.

Thirdly, perfect location , the beautiful beach is just right after you walk from your the lobby, so convenient! Beautiful beach, ocean and nice view! The kids can play on the beach for the whole day, then from beach to the pool then from pool to the beach , you don’t need to worry about if they are hungry or thirsty.

At last, for the service part , the housekeeping lady Loyda did great job on my room everyday, she is very nice and always smile. Also the guy works on internet is great as well! On Tuesday , my Wi-Fi is super slow and I have to work on some of the work related stuff, the internet guy helped me and resolved my issue. I really appreciate that.

Overall, our family had a great vacation time at Dreams Sands Cancun, we left today but we already miss it! I am sure we will definitely come back !

We just spent 14 nights at Dreams Sands. Fantastic holiday. The entertainment team is absolutely the best we have ever experienced Mannie, Angelo, Angy, Tino, Manuel full accolades! Food was a 4 star but Josmar, Bruno, Lorena, Carlos, Raul made eating experience great. The Lobby Bar was the best Laurie, Vanessa, Andy, Miguel you made me fabulous drinks. Joel was our room steward and he went over and above great service including our request for a morning clean. Richard checked us in and was very helpful in our room selection. Alex the hotel mgr you have a fabulous staff and we are already recommending this resort. Thanks to all Wendy and Bill from Ontario

Excellent location to enjoy a family vacation with the perks of a cruise. Restaurants, buffets, and its own coffee station opened until late, 24-hour room service and bar. Staff helps schedule your amenities and trips around Cancun. Excellent customer service in English and Spanish. Beautiful view of the beach!

I gave this property five stars because of the service I received and the hospitality of the staff, management and housekeeping. The only negative thing is that there is minimal entertainment. Some needed upgrades to the rooms to make them more desirable and most importantly there was no place for adults too play such as a disco or club. There is absolutely nothing wrong with children. However, if that is not the vibe you're looking for you will be in the wrong place. There is a very family oriented property. I utilized the spa services and hydrotherapy. I also enjoyed my time at the spa. However, it didn't meet the expectations of the other Dreams resorts that I have stayed at at their other locations and destinations.

Overall I'd give this resort 4/5. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and the service was great. We stayed in a premium room. The food was great, besides room service. The room service food was a little bland but the restaurants are great. We loved the Italian and World Cafe. You can always get into World Cafe but may need to wait for the Italian but never too long. The beach was very clean and plenty of chairs. If you are someone who likes entertainment, this probably isn't for you. They had one show every night that we enjoyed but that was it. We did a lot of excursion and relaxed by the beach. If you aren't looking to leave the resort you might pick a different hotel but overall I really enjoyed my stay!

The beach is great and the staff service is great. The only thing I didn't like at all was the room because most of them don't have a balcony and the window doesn't open.

If you come with no expectations, you might be treated for a wonderful surprise. We are a family of four (two young kids). The food at every restaurant was amazing. Of course, there are some misses but overall very good. If you can dine at Portofino and Himitsu few times, will be well worth it. Olio was great and world cafe was always a hit for our kids. Bonus was coco cafe with its frapp, ice cream, crepe and pastries!!

We opted for the preferred club and decided to spend a bit more on the hotel room. The master suite ocean front is well worth the price plus the elevator was not as busy. I think the preferred club is well worth the upgrade with access to a lounge, separate beach/pool area. There is still a need to save a spot early for lounge chairs, but folks like Gustavo are pretty good at controlling / giving kind reminders and doing their best to ensure it is fair.

Yes there were some minor inconveniences in the room or with room service, but honestly we did not fuss about it and everything else made up for them.

Shoutout to Patricia/Brandon at front desk, Humberto/Pedro at world cafe, Henry at Olio, our server Alexander during the sunday party. Gustavo at the preferred club beach area. Janet hardest working and kindest server in the beach area. Gabriel from Portofino. One of the highlights was teppanyaki dinner at Himitsu with chef Pedro. Even the kids loved it.

The service from everyone we encountered was amazing.

The kids enjoyed the stay and we will be back.

Lover everything about the resort. Service was amazing, rooms were ok, the only thing that was disappointing that there was one working elevator. We were in the preferred club but it really didnt add any extra benefits for us

Great spot and service was great! We did have multiple issues with our room. It was taken care of promptly, but when you’re paying a premium for preferred club honeymoon suite, you don’t expect to have a room that smells like mildew and constant drainage problems with plumbing.
