Just got back from this resort and I highly recommend it. The service was beyond excellent and the hotel was very clean even for it being 25 years old. The hotel is right on the beach, there are several pools and the resort is family & child friendly. There are several restaurants to choose from and the food is decent. I have to give thanks to the hostess that sat us at the hibachi restaurant (which is be reservation only). We didn’t have a reservation so we were seated at the regular dining area. She came back a few minutes later and said that a reservation hadn’t shown up and if we still wanted to sit at the hibachi table…of course we said YES! My daughter was sad about not being able to initially sit there but afterwards that really made her day! Thank you!!!

The Tulum ruins are about 10 minutes away and you can take a cab. Wear light clothing and comfortable shoes if you go because it’s quite the hike.

Overall the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the limited room service menu and the room has one of those AC units that will turn off in the middle of the night. I guess it thinks the room is empty so to conserve energy it goes into fan mode. All you to do is turn it off and on again and it’ll stay on for another couple hours.

If you like a smaller type resort this is the one for you. Please take some of the negative comments about this resort with a grain of salt, it really doesn’t deserve it…especially a 1-2 stars. I can’t express how nice everyone was to us and how much they went out of their way to provide great service. I would definitely come here again.

This place is absolutely terrible. I was here the same time last week. Charging people for a service dog? Ridiculous. My water was also shut off for over a day and no one notified me about it. The AC in my room did not work either.

Nightmare at Dreams Tulum: A Disastrous Stay

My experience at Dreams Tulum was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this so-called luxury resort was anything but. Let's start with the blatant disregard for basic decency: they had the audacity to charge me for having a service dog. Discrimination much?

But wait, it gets worse. The water in my room was mysteriously shut off for over a day without any explanation or apology. Imagine paying premium prices for a supposedly upscale experience, only to be left without basic amenities. It's beyond unacceptable.

And don't even get me started on their archaic computer system. It seemed like every time a staff member needed to access something, the system conveniently decided to throw a tantrum and stop working. The level of incompetence displayed was mind-boggling.

In summary, save yourself the headache and avoid Dreams Tulum at all costs. With their disrespectful treatment of service animals, lack of basic utilities, and dysfunctional technology, it's clear that no one should subject themselves to such a disastrous experience. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere for a truly enjoyable vacation.

To respond to your response, I never said it was my pet. I did not want to publicize my disability and who are you to even say that to me? TERRIBLE AND RUDE. The paper also says $50 dollars a day when you charged me $65 a day when you shouldn’t have even charged me at all. I showed you my paperwork which you clearly did not read. I will continue to write reviews to ensure people do not stay here.

Absolutely beautiful! Efficient service. Friendly staff.
I would definitely be returning.

Stayed at Dreams Tulum for a friends wedding, which was beautiful. Overall we had a great time. The resort grounds were beautiful, very lush. You can tell the crewmembers put a lot of time and attention into maintaining the grounds. There are two very large pools. However, unless you enjoy sitting by the pool or in a lounge chair on the beach, drinking all day, there isn’t much else to do at the resort. Swimming at the beach is challenging due to the beach being extremely rocky. We ventured off the resort to explore some cenotes as we were craving some adventure. The food isn’t great and unless you’re in the preferred rooms or a suite, the regular rooms don’t have actual air conditioning. They have thermostats in the rooms but they don’t reach a temperature below 22 Celsius which is 75 Fahrenheit and not an ideal sleeping temperature when it’s 88 degrees and humid.

Please please do not stay here. This resort is worthy of a ZERO star review. Chances are too high you'll have a terrible stay as I had and we pay way too much and really look forward to these times away from the cold to not enjoy our vacation.
I only stayed here as I was attending a wedding.
First!!! A glass door in the room broke. There were many pictures taken to show the improper installment of the door and the door stop behind, which was missing the rubber so you had a glass door hitting a metal door stop for who knows how long. It's tempered glass.... Do not break that easily. They immediately treated us like criminals and as far as I'm concerned stole our money. When they sent someone to clean the glass, they left SHARDS of glass all over and we had to clean up so we didn't cut ourselves. I've also seen how they treat guests thar hurt themselves at their resort due to lack of maintenance.
When I tried to make a complaint, when I eventually found someone that could speak some English...... I was told they didn't represent the resort... and was treated quite terribly.
I paid a premium price for an "Oceanview room" basically overlooked the courtyard area..... not quite the experience I've had in other Oceanview rooms I've stayed in elsewhere.
Had to change from my bikini top for the buffet. That's fine I had completely forgotten about the "dress code" went and changed to not much more than a bikini top and was allowed in. Went in a different day with that same top and was told I had to change, I looked around and there were people in sports bras, which was pretty much the same as I had on. Super frustrating.... at a buffet and in a tropical location, my crop top which is a shirt is about all I have. Plus have the same standards for all guests, including people in sports bras.
The resort is SUPER outdated and tbh nothing impressive. The beach area is a rocky disaster and can't even go in the water.
I have told everyone I know about this horrific resort and will post many reviews. Luckily we also spent time in an air bnb which was FANTASTIC!!! I was so happy to leave this place.
Please please take the warning, read reviews and stay somewhere else. I've had many many good other experiences at other resorts. I will never ever stay at this run down "resort" again. Lesson learned. Read reviews evem if going for a wedding.

AGAIN. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE QUESTIONABLE INSTALLATION OF THE GLASS DOOR. IM SURE THEY'RE HOPING A GUEST BREAKS IT SO THEY CAN STEAL FROM THEM. Also read reviews about them taking hours of your time for timeshare purposes 😬 be very very careful of this place

We paid several hundred dollars for a hotel that had no hot water during our stay. I feel like that says everything you need.

The physical hotel is fine but dated. The staff are friendly but stretched a bit thin. There are only a few maintenance workers, so it takes forever to get any help. It took 5 hours and 7 telephone calls to get a crib for my son. The food is either really good or terrible, which may be exciting for some, but I would prefer more consistency.

The beach is very nice, but for this price, you can do so much better.

Excellent service and a highly recommended place

Lovely hotel, super service and food for every taste. However, it is quite far from the airport.

The best of the best Victor of animation!!! Excellent!! We would return without hesitation!! All 10 points the food, the pools, the beach, the service, the super friendly staff, the gym and the coconut latte coffee the best!!!!

A hotel complex with all the amenities, friendly and helpful staff. The restaurants with the best and varied foods. The children's area is second to none. The hacienda concept is picturesque, ample parking and valet parking. The beach and pools are spacious, with multiple activities. Highly recommended.

A horrible experience from day one to the last. Horrible front desk service, preferred club and more. If you are a frequent traveler and one that spends considerable sums, avoid at all costs for a resort that will take care of your needs. This place is a joke at best and harmful at worst and our family will never be back for any reason. No car service after 9PM and no hospitality focused on anyone that isn’t spending more on private wine bottles. A joke through and through and shouldn’t ever have been bought by Hyatt. Also, the food? Chipotle is better. That says it all.

It is a dream, it meets the luxury, comfort and service that a chain of this type normally represents, yes, on the beach there is a blow, but on the entire beach, which the hotel cannot do much

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Dreams Tulum, and I must say, the experience was exceptional, primarily due to the outstanding customer service provided by the staff.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were promptly escorted to our room by a friendly staff member who made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Throughout our time at the resort, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our needs and wishes were met. Whether it was arranging restaurant reservations, providing room service, or simply offering a friendly chat, they were always eager to assist and make our stay enjoyable.

The dining experience at the resort was equally impressive. With a variety of restaurants offering delicious Mexican cuisine and international dishes, there was something to satisfy every palate. What stood out even more was how they meticulously addressed my food allergies to keep me safe during my stay, especially considering I was there for a work conference. The waitstaff were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that my dietary restrictions were taken into account with every meal. Chef Francisco made sure that every meal was given the utmost care in preparation no matter what restaurant we dined in. Miguelina made sure that I had special accommodations each day, not only to address my dietary needs, but also to ensure that I could dine in the proper time necessary during the breaks given at my work conference. They had several helpers that assisted with each meal including Javier, Jose, Bernandino, Miguel, Eliceo, Nayely, Ester, and the list goes on!!

In addition to the exceptional service, the resort itself was beautiful and well-maintained. The grounds were immaculate, the amenities were top-notch, and there were plenty of activities to keep guests entertained.

Overall, my experience at Dreams Tulum resort was nothing short of fantastic, thanks in large part to the outstanding customer service provided by the staff who became our friends!! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable vacation experience, especially those with dietary restrictions who need extra care and attention.
Muchas Gracias mis Amigos!

Recommendable.
Very good hotel.
Their food is not the best, but they have a lot of variety for all tastes. High in price compared to quality-price.

A very friendly and very well located hotel in the north of Tulum, far enough away from the noise and hustle and bustle to enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature.
A large complex with all amenities on site. Special mention to all the staff who were able to help us at each stage of the stay (arrival, car rental, idea for an outing, etc.)
We would like to thank Wilie Canul and Gabriele at reception for their very high quality assistance and service.
We also express our most sincere gratitude to Gilda May for her warm welcome, her hospitality, and a radiant smile that illuminated all our breakfasts. His kindness greatly contributed to making this stay unforgettable!
Special mention also to Carlos and Gilda for the little attention before our departure which touched us enormously ❤️

Simply beautiful 😻

Do yourself the favor of not staying at this resort. It truly is not a 5 star resort and they have thieves working for them. To start they have a limited selection for dining. The food is average, the buffet was below average. The resort itself is nice, but the rooms are very simple and out dated. The first room we stayed in the sliding glass door was broken and would not lock. I called the front desk to ask if they could fix it and never heard back. After a few hours i asked to move rooms and they were not accommodating. I ended up paying to upgrade my room to a pool swim up, which ended up being closer to the road than the lobby. In my opinion the upgrade was not worth it.

We paid for the room upgrade, a day at the spa, a private dinner, and always tipped the staff. Not to mention my inlaws bought into some sort of Hyatt time share- which seems like a scam. They were promised a private chef and only 30 mintues of their time. They sat at the buffet that everyone had access to and it ended up taking 3 hours. Upon further research of the time share it has horrible reviews. After the stealing incident we will NEVER stay at another Hyatt property and luckily my in-laws were able to get out of the time share.

My ugg slippers were stolen and $300 USD was stolen from my in-laws. If you do stay here I would decline room service as I believe that was how these items were stolen. I called to report these items are stolen and the concierge assured me they were not and to keep looking. I went down to the lobby to ask what could be done and if they could check cameras/ see who entered our room. They basically kept giving us the run around. I asked to speak to someone in charged and she mentioned the manager on shift name is Armando but a man named Enrique came to assist us. He was not pleasant and instead of being apologetic he blamed me for the employee stealing my shoes. Enrique also mentioned how I was probably wearing them to the pool or beach.

I have stayed at many Hyatt owned resorts all over and this experience was enough to never stay at one again.

Just got back from a 8 nights 7 day vacation at Dreams Tulum. It was my first ever experience at an all inclusive resort and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

The service at the whole resort was absolutely astounding. The workers go above and beyond for everything and make you feel so welcome. The best staff member that I got to know during my week there was Horacio who worked in the gym. He was an awesome guy who works his butt off to keep the gym and exercise areas clean and tidy

The overall hacienda style of the resort is very beautiful it’s absolutely gorgeous the beach is stunning. They continuously clean the seaweed off the beach. There are a few spots when walking out into the sea that have big rocks and was very easy to fall around in the water. just becareful and you will be fine!

Now for me personally I have heard horror stories about eating food at all inclusive resorts. This was a big worry for me and I have been reluctant to go to an all inclusive resort, I have a terribly sensitive stomach and was very very concerned about the food. At dreams Tulum the food was very good for being at an all inclusive resort. I see many reviews bashing the food but it is not terrible. The restaurants were very very good ate at all of them except gohan. Only because I am not a huge fan of sushi!
The only issue and small issue that is with the food I found was the lunch would get a little repetitive with usually having stewed meats. The best was to get pork beef or chicken grilled. I found their breakfasts to be the absolute best meals. I didn’t get the server who makes eggs & omelettes name but he was awesome after I had got my eggs made the same day first two days he’d point me out give me a nod and have my eggs ready for me while he was making other guests omelettes. Great service!!!

The resort has very very good security and you feel extremely safe there!

The rooms were nice. Me and my wife were somehow were put in a room with two double beds. Not that big of a deal for us the air con works in the rooms but ours did not go below 20 Celsius. Not a huge deal for us the only thing was the couple days we were there it was close to 36 Celsius with the humidex and the rooms were quite warm and stuffy around 22.5-23.5 Celsius but having two beds for the night to split up from each other and cool down was okay for us!

Don’t see peoples needs to write horrible reviews and complain about small things. Yes sometimes the food from the buffet is not the most amazing thing ever but you are at a resort being pampered!!

We very much enjoyed the resort. The staff are all very great. They work their butts off for you and are super friendly. I cannot wait to go back!
