Definitely the best riu hotel, Judith never lets you have a empty drink on the beach, she does such a amazing job. Julian is always around to make you stay as best as possible and he is so pleasant to talk to. Omar in the steakhouse is definitely a great and experienced waiter thats fast and knowledgeable There is nothing negative I can say about this resort. All the staff is so pleasant and friendly to deal with.

Staff were polite and helpful. Great location to get to other activities and food. Don't like that I have to book to rooms for two adults and three children.

The experience here is great. Love the entertainment and the beach ⛱️

Have stayed at multiple Riu resorts, three in Jamaica and it was pretty much like McDonald's, you have a good idea what you'll get. This was middle of the road in comparison, which isn't bad it just wasn't quite as good as some others.
The good... beach is incredible and is as beautiful as some of the other top beaches in the world. This is a lot smaller and quieter than most but if you want to walk to the other Riu about a half mile away it's open to you. It's in Negril which I won't get into but simply it's the most safe/friendly IMHO.
The negatives... the menu was the same more or less with the others but the food just wasn't as good apples to apples. Our room and fridge had AC and was okay but should have been much cooler- our travel mates had much better but first world problems... It's a long ride from Montego Bay and while not unique here, it's different with small roads and towns so if you get car sick take an extra bonine. The night life/entertainment was kind of lacking, started late and just past the point where people hit the wall and the exhausted kids get cranky and some of it is a Riu thing but I'm not looking for a Rock of ages show or Micheal Jackson tribute. Give me the culture, the reggae, ska and steel drums. I can catch bad cover bands at my local bar. The small was also a little bad just in lack of the quantity of programs and features. The restaurants weren't very good and we ended up sticking to the buffet; only one hobie cat, etc. And finally the 5:30 fumigation- I know mosquitos and dengue fever and all but a side by side buzzing around leaving a cloud of smoke and pesticides like its 1965 isn't great...
But that sunset makes a lot better...

Great food and staff the pool games are nice and staff always get you your demands.

I went on a trip with my family to an incredible resort that exceeded all expectations. The food was outstanding, appealing to a variety of tastes and preferences. We were greeted and served by staff who were not only professional in their duties but also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. This resort stands out as the top all-inclusive destination I've ever experienced. At the beach, we never struggled to find seating; there were always plenty of chairs available for guests. Additionally, the numerous palm trees provided generous amounts of shade, making it comfortable to spend the whole day outdoors. The resort's landscaping was a feast for the eyes, with beautiful plant life and meticulously maintained grounds. It was noticeably clean and well-kept, creating a pleasant environment for all guests. The staff demonstrated remarkable dedication to guest satisfaction, going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Whether it was a small request or a more significant concern, they handled it with utmost care and efficiency. Their efforts to accommodate us, especially when faced with unforeseen challenges, were truly appreciated. The overall atmosphere of the resort was one of relaxation and joy, facilitated by the attentive and kind-hearted staff. It’s clear that the people working at the resort take great pride in their work and aim to provide the best experience possible. Our family trip was made unforgettable by the wonderful facilities and the outstanding level of service we received. I’m grateful to everyone at the resort for their hard work and commitment to excellence, which contributed to a memorable and enjoyable vacation.

Beautiful play Stopwatch beach. Great food an entertainment

The location is optimal, the beach is beautiful. The hotel facilities clean and well-kept. Regarding the service: although the treatment has been adequate and friendly at all times and I have no complaints in this regard, I would like to point out that in terms of the quality of guest service the hotel is not on par with the Palace Jamaica, much more personalized and proactive, the difference is notable and I think they could improve.

i’ve been to jamaica 3 times now and it’s my first time staying at this resort. so much to say about this place! it’s great. only downside is that the closest airport from the resort is about 2 hours and if you take a bus it could be longer. the food was alright, some days there were better options. if you get the option, reserve a steakhouse dinner, it’s amazing. the rooms are clean, they do a great job at cleaning them. and let’s talk about the beautiful sunset. every night at 6:30 ish i would go down to see the beautiful skies. seven mile beach is only 8 minutes away too. the bars are great, pools are great. the beach is beautiful and clear, and it’s not deep so it’s great for kids, rarely i saw waves.

Slow spot to relax and have a blast while you at the resort. All inclusive and the hospitality is on point. The staff there are amazing and polite. Well mannered individuals.

We are enjoying our time here

This hotel is beautiful, everything on the resort property is conveniently located, and the beach is wonderful. Staff and entertainment were good.
There was one major issue, however, and that was: BED BUGS! My wife and I are covered in itchy bites all over our bodies. We stayed in room 3222. We only figured out they were bed-bug bites at the end of our trip, but we’re sure that’s what they are.

This place is beautiful. The people here are so accomodating.

I absolutely would return to Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay! With so many fantastic activities and entertainment right at your fingertips, you might not even feel the need to venture elsewhere. It's a perfect sunset location and easy access to explore nearby hotels, delightful eateries, and the iconic Rick's Cafe.

Excellent calm beach

Very nice luxurious hotel.
The rooms are large and comfortable. The all in is very complete.
The beach is beautiful and clean.
The swimming pools are very nice, I really like the concept of “deckchairs” in the water specific to the RIU.

Overall, my stay was at this resort was mid. One thing that I did not like was that you had to have a reservation to dine in one of the resort’s restaurants. When my party tried to make a reservation, no reservations were available for days. Therefore the only dining option we had was the buffet. The buffet was ok. Nothing to brag about but you could find something to eat. Another thing I didn’t like was there was no elevator. Our room was on the third floor. Walking up and down 3 flights of stairs multiple times a day became tiring. Also, our room was not regularly serviced. We had to call the lobby to request new wash cloths, towels, etc. Also, we had a frustrating experience with our room keys. The keys we were given would stop working and then we have to go to the lobby to get new ones. This happened multiple times. Other than those issues, our stay was decent. I do commend the staff at the buffet. They gave great customer service. Especially Denise who was our waitress in the mornings.

Beautiful, luxurious hotel! Very large hotel. Clean well looked after hotel, with great customer service. People and staff I'm general are full of energy, friendly and helpful. With amazing food, drink an music. This hotel should be within your top 5 hotels to stay in within negril. Cannot fault the hotel or service overall. Would definitely recommend this. Great for couples, great for families. It has everything, along with a super close beach and seven mile beach which is absolutely endless beauty

The beds are very firm but comfortable. They are quite narrow. All beds appear to be the same 50" wide. My husband and I had to turn at the same time to not fall off(we are not big people). A single person is "fine" if your guerth does not exceed this. Wish they had wider beds. The low flush toilettes are work. You must flush several times and use as little toilette paper as possible.

If you want a full view of the ocean you must ask/pay for "ocean front". Get the 1st or the 3rd floor, on the 2nd, your view will be blocked by the greenery . Ocean View means you will get a peak at the ocean. We ask for a different room and were offered a worse choice.

The location is amazing. Water is clear and clear of debris. Lots of shady areas and finding a chair in the shade is not a huge struggle. There are a various amount of boaters trying to get you to go and take part in an activity, intrusive to relaxation but "tolerable".

Coffee: the coffee and expresso were very good. No mention of where the beans come from. Lattes/cappucinos: in the dinning room and lounge you will get it made with a presweetened mix. The Cappuchino Cafe off the lounge is were you go to get them made with real milk. You can also get a better quality baked good here(after 2 pm).

Food: Quantity over quality, but the quality is still reasonably high. The fresh juices, including green juices are good quality.

The 5 restaurants advertised: Download the RIU app before you travel and book your sitting(6:30 or 8:15). This resort attracts many britts who stay for 2 weeks. If your stay is 1 week and you try and book a restaurant upon arrival, you may get 1-2 choices at 8:15 if you are lucky. The food choices here are tastier and excellent quality.

Staff: They appear happy. They appreciate tips but the service is still good even if you don't. Many works upwards of 60 hrs per week! Don't bother with bringing Jamaican dollars. US currency is all they are after.

Entertainment: My family thought it was good quality. We did speak to other patrons who have come for 8-10 times and said the quality of food and entertainment had gone down quite a bit.

Wedding: We saw 3 wedding in the week (end of Feb). It looked really well done. I would recommend this resort for a wedding.

The size of the resort is good, not too big or small.

Thank You all RIU staff. We will be back.

A true all inclusive perfect service friendly staff
