Beautiful hotel, I highly recommend, I hope to return again.

First time at an all inclusive stayed at the recommendation of a friend, will not stay here again. Hyatt will want to sell you their vacation program right away so if you don't want to go for the dog and pony show, refuse. Don't be hungry between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm there's no food available. Agree with other statements about trying to get seating at the grill. The food is barely ok. My child pretty much ate pastries from the coffee shop because the options are so poor. Mini bar is not restocked with drinks when the room is cleaned. The restaurants in general need more servers. They were doing the best they could with all the tables they had, but that resulted in cool food and not great service. Dreams and Secrets has full run of Sunscape, but Sunscape cannot use any of their facilities, amenities including the pier, unless boarding a boat. Room was not exactly clean. Not a kid friendly resort. The kids club was unwelcoming and disinteresting for a pre-teen. I have stayed at a 3 star place in Playa and had a much better experience.

It was a relaxing day at the Sunscape. The lobby area is beautiful and is 5star. After leaving the lobby it goes down to 3-4star. Need more lounge chairs around the pool and offer lounge chair towel covers. When you head to the beach which is very close which is great you do not see a lot of sand. The hotel does not clean their beach. Seaweed everywhere on the beachfront. Hotel needs to invest in a machine that cleans that up daily. This will improve the overall visitor experience and star rating. The blue drink at the bar is excellent. My kids had a great time snorkeling. Overall had a fun time. Just remember first impressions are good, but the details are suffering at the resort.

If you value your money a little, look for another option.

Here I leave my comments:

- Meal
They only offer 2 options a day, they never renew the menus, it is à la carte and it takes up to 1 hour and a half to serve you your food, cold and scarce in quantity and zero quality. A maruchan soup is better than any of their menus. The morning egg full of filth, artificial juices, raw meat, in short, total disgustingness. The only thing that saves is the attitude of the boy who prepares a hamburger in the afternoon, he does what he can, but he usually ran out of bread and condiments and was stressed about getting his work done.

On one occasion I asked for more guacamole, they told me that it was “one per table” maybe it is not all inclusive.

On another occasion I just wanted some nuggets (frozen and horrible by the way) for my daughter who hadn't had dinner, they told me that they couldn't provide takeout, they only served people who were seated and that I had to get on their waiting list , which was at least 45 minutes.

The cafe never has desserts available, never has ice cream, or only offers 1 per family.

In short, any 3-star hotel offers better quality food than this “pseudo all-inclusive”

- Bedrooms
In general I got a good room facing the sea. So I couldn't give a bad opinion, it's just that they gave it to us until 3:30 pm.

- Swimming pool
Small for the number of rooms, the tile probably has fungus because it feels very slippery.

The redeemable:
Cozumel sunset
Climate
That's all.

Friends, obviously I will never return with my family to this hotel. I hope you can read this review before booking and it can save you a bad time.

Note; I didn't read any reviews before, I didn't want to be biased

We booked through Redtag.ca (our very 1 trip ever) and were not told about a package deal. From what I understand, the 1 part of Sunscabe resort branched off and is called Secrets, which is "adults only" and is private. On the other side, it branched off last year & is called Dreams. So at Sunscape your entitled to only eat at the lttle mexican restaurant and the main restaurant, however you are allowed to eat at the buffet restaurant that seperates Sunscape & Secrets . Also if you'd like to eat at the seafood restaurant that's located on the Secrets side you can do so just as long as you purchase a $85 USD bottle of wine and bring it. When googling Sunscape resort, we saw their were 2 pools when, in fact, there's only 1 pool and its 3 feet deep. The room's definitely need to be remodeled. Fridges need to be repaired as well as the Ice machine worked 2 days out of the 7. We did make the best of our very 1st vacatian together.

The location is beautiful, however, there was a severe lack of information. Dinner times were different on different nights and there was no communication about which restaurants were closed and what time buffets were. For being a "kids" resort there was little for kids to do and most things were not kid friendly. The buffets did not start until 7 pm at the earliest and the shows weren't until 9. Rooms did not come with wash cloths and towels and drinks were not restocked each day. There was also an "Italian restaurant" set up next to the pool, and there were only 6 tables and 2 seatings (6 pm and 8 pm). Again the location and views are stunning, but I would not recommend this resort to a friend.

BE CAREFUL, they don't refill the minibar!
In the advertising they say that there is a minibar in the rooms but they only refill water.
There is no room service at any time! You always have to go out to restaurants. Be careful with the advertising that there is food and snacks 24 hours a day and they are near the lobby.

We stayed here for 8 days back in 2021, this place was amazing and we were hit by a hurricane that knocked out the power then a big tree fell on the backup generator so the entire resort was without power for 36 hours. The staff did everything possible to make the best of it. We plan on staying here again in the future

Very bad experience in this misnamed Resort. I have had the fortune of staying in other hotels of the same category and the experience in this one has been terrible, from the day I arrived the food on the restaurant menu has been the same, there is no variety in any of more than 3 meals, for If that were not enough, the service is very slow for how little they take you, an average of 20 to 25 minutes for them to take you the first time.
The rooms are old and neglected, the water faucet in my shower only draws ice cold or boiling water, it cannot be regulated to a comfortable temperature. The smell in the walkways and drains is terrible, the maintenance service is non-existent, a lot of garbage in the walkways, the facilities are small and do not offer much for the cost they charge. If you plan to come for one night or maybe 2, it could happen but not to think about a week-long vacation since the stay becomes tedious and boring due to the poor service they offer.
There is no training at night like in other hotels. If anything, they put on a movie at night that no one watches.
In short, it was a bad decision to have chosen this "Resort" for my vacation, so if you have the opportunity to stay here, avoid it, you will only have bad times with the service of this place.

I have been here in the past and had an okay experience. However this time was the absolute worst. Food was completely inedible and disgusting. We never ate a meal here aside from breakfast which was able to be choked down. We also had several items stolen from our hotel room such as a hair straightener, curler, and set of keys. Will never be returning to this resort.

It has a variety of activities and I think the services are excellent.

Catastrophe.
We stayed at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel for two weeks in February '24. I didn't want to believe it but the bad recessions aren't exaggerating. The entire hotel, especially the restaurants, are in a very dilapidated state, which really makes you lose your appetite. The Market Cafe was the best. Furniture thrown together, dirty and unkempt. The food is ALWAYS cold and boring. The breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired.
Although the hotel description advertises that every room has a terrace or balcony, the first room we were assigned had neither one nor the other. We were given a different room on day three after we complained. The refrigerator was and probably still is defective, although we complained about that too.
The location is positive, Cozumel is beautiful, the beach is wonderful. The small hotel would have real potential if it wasn't so neglected. The pool is OK and the internet was good in our room near the beach. The staff was mostly nice, sometimes a bit ignorant, probably the tip wasn't enough. We would not recommend the hotel, especially not for Europeans.

I would give 3.5 stars if that was a thing.

What I liked: the beach, the cleanliness of the pool, and the flavor of the food (all we tasted was yummy), the explorers club, mainly friendly and helpful staff (few exceptions), Mr. Andrés was extremely nice and helpful (he took care of our cleaning) and chef Mario (hubby says it was Martin) from the restaurant "El Patio" was beyond amazing in both courtesy and skill, his food was simply delicious and he took the time to greet us at our table after dinner and inquire about our satisfaction with the food and service. The explorers club has very nice activities for the kids, the girls are nice and my kids were very happy the few times they got to be with them, one evening they did a movie and dinner at the beach and my kids were delighted and we got to have a quiet adults only dinner at "El Patio" while they were at it. I also liked the cleanliness of the beach and the fact the don't use single use glasses to serve the beverages, even for the kids they collect and wash rather than use single use plastics.

What I didn't like: the size of the "deluxe double bedroom" we could barely walk in there with our baggage, and we only had carry ons, the bathroom is just a shower, not even a bathtub, let alone a hot tub or anything like it, and the balcony was tiny, imposible to fit 4 chairs so we could all be there at a time, plus the wet clothes had to be put there since there was no room anywhere inside the room. The lack of maintenance in some furniture (rusty table on the ridiculously small balcony) and the lack of food options out of the main hours for meals (at 2pm, coming back hungry from a tour, we had only 1 restaurant option in which previously we had had to wait long time for food before or burgers which my kids don't like and that we again had to wait for because they ran out of them). And that check-in took forever (well above 30 min)

The beach is awesome and just right there, clear warm water with a minimum amount of algae, the reef is spectacular and also just right there (one has just to plunge the head into the sea to see the fish and the coral). It's worth it to pay a little extra to have a room with Seaview even if the tiny balcony lacks splendor, just to be so close to the beach for after swimming. We were told they had just changed administration and we could see they're trying to improve in many aspects, at arrival I was kind of disappointed by the room and some long waits but when we left I thought I would not mind returning, overall I liked our time there.

Take out your pesos because it is expensive to do activities

Stay at dreams next door but had access to sunscreen and secrets...all three resorts very nice!

Great week!

We had a great experience & it’s clear the hotel is looking to improve service/ food quality and reviews.

Laura at security was super helpful & the most friendly person.

We had great service by Antonio, Miguel (Italian restaurant) and Rene! Rene & Antonio helped us each morning at breakfast. 10/10

My only feedback was for reception, they were cold & unhelpful. Traveling with my 88 year old grandmother, I requested a ground floor room beside hers. Reception put us in two different buildings both on the 3rd floor. So we had to walk up and down multiple times per day. I’m had called 3 times and emailed ahead of time and emailed and reception did not care at all.

Over all the beach us 10/10 and serving staff very friendly!!

Terrible attitude and attention from the manager on duty in the morning at reception today, February 24, 2024, no one willing to help to hire a photography service that they themselves offer within their facilities. The pool water is cold, there is no climate, the food of poor quality at the buffet breakfast.

I loved the entertainment team! Always taking time to involve everyone. Fun and creative activities. Thanks, Zayra, Fabiola, Maximiliano, Josue, Hiydy, and Wendy.
The bar staff was also creative with their drink specialties.
All staff always responded to thank you, with "It is my pleasure." I was there for Carnival (Marti Gras) and Valentine's, with great food and decorations.
