Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Hotel Reviews

"I have been to many resorts, none under a 4+ star, and this was by far the nicest resort I have ever been to. It is definitely 5 star or more. The staff were incredible. They had drinks ready as soon as they saw us coming and we never had to wait. The swim up bar was the best spot for drinks. We had an upgraded room which I think was a Majestic Suite. I suggest when booking to spend the extra money for the Majestic Suite or the Colonial Suite, make sure it doesn't say JR suite. It was well worth it. We had 2 balconies, as all of these rooms are corner rooms. We had one balcony that overlooked the ocean through the palm trees with a bistro style table. We had another balcony that was easily 30X20, with our own loungers and a private spa, unfortunately we couldnt get hot water in it during our stay, so we filled it with hot water from our jacuzzi inside and then let the sun warm it up through the day which kept it at medium temperature which was perfect for sitting in at night. The food at the resort was excellent. All buffets were average, but with food that would suit anyone. Tons of variety. The a la carte restaurants I would suggest taking full advantage of because they're amazing. I had my best meals at the Japanese restaurant, and the Seafood Restaurant. I would have eaten there every night if there weren't so many different spots to try. We also went to Guest Services and paid $175.00 US for a 4 course meal on the beach with your own private table, personal waiter, personal musicians, and they decorate it beautifully with rose petals and candles and also give you roses to take with you. That was probably the best meal I have ever had in my life, and well worth the money. The grounds were beautiful, the pool was amazing and at a PERFECT temperature. I will go to this resort over and over again and take as many people as I possibly can. Oh, also I am not sure if it was the upgraded room, or because we're Canandian (I heard both), but we had a gray wrist band, which means we got premium liquors free. We did not have to pay extra."

"Went on March 15th. Very friendly staff, beautiful grounds, this is truly a five star hotel. Some confusion with the wrist bands as only some colours get premium beer and wine etc. The food is usually great with lots of variety at all settings but main dining room has toasters from the middle ages. Beach and the pool are spectacular, great for swimining or lounging. I would go back again."

"The Majestic is very spacious, the grounds are well kept and the service is very good. While the resort is only two years old, it is starting to show its age and maintenance will be an issue. The beach and pool are very large and beautiful. The wine is only passable and the local vendors (who visit the resort every Thursday) are very aggressive. The food quality is variable but there is plenty of variety. The selection of fresh fruit is excellent as is the resort's signature cocktail, the Majestic Sunset. The musicians should focus more on local music. (We can hear American standards at home.) "

"The hotel was very nice. Great location right at the beach. Awsome pool, super big so finding a spot was not an issue. There are several restaurants but we did not find the food that great, 'The Gourmet' was the best. The hotel seems to be for more slow paced visitors as the activities were lacking and what they did offer could have been much better. Overall we were quite happy with the hotel."

"Outstanding Resort on a beautiful sandy beach. The Majestic has an amazing pool, luxury rooms, excellent food and friendly staff throughout. The Japanese restaurant was particularly fantastic. Having walked the beach past several other resorts on either side of the Majestic it was clear that it has the best layout for sun or shade without being crowded together. The huge pool also allows patrons to find some of their own space or join the crowd with the animation staff. It was a great visit and I would recommend this hotel."

"This hotel is fantastic. 5* all the way. The pictures are an exact representation It is absoutely beautiful. Pool is incredible - winds throughout the resort. Food was great, lots of variety at the different restaurants althoughy buffet never changes there is always a huge selection. Seafood and steak houses were excellent. Don't do the chinese as it is not what we are used to, but Japanese steak house is good. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very appreciative of any tip (suggest leave 30 pesos or $1 American to show appreciation at meals, but not required). Only bad thing is flat pillows and you only get 2 so have to ask for more which they will give you. And yes you can buy pringles chips if you really want them. Air conditioning was certainly cool enough - almost too cool, but shuts off if you open doors. Rooms all have full double jacuzzi tub and huge walk in shower. This place was the best all inclusive we have ever stayed at."
