Our Opinion of Grand Riviera Princess
The Grand Riviera Princess has a great beach area and beautiful well kept grounds. The huge pool intertwines a good portion of this large resort and the swim-up suites are a popular upgrade. Close to Playa del Carmen which is good for those who like to go into town for shopping and nightlife. Bottom line... the Grand Riviera Princess is a solid choice if you like larger resorts.

Grand Riviera Princess Hotel Reviews

Rating:
"we absolutely loved your resort, the staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, someone was always cleaning something, our room was awesome. We stayed for 10 days, and loved that we were close to Playa...which is a great place to go. We also went to Coco Bongo via our resort which is a must see!! The lounge had a great entertainment every night, which was very relaxing after a hard day of laying in the sun. I would highly recomend staying at this resort!!!!"

"When we went to this resort, we upgraded to the Platinum suites. This upgrade was worth every penny! When we arrived,we were greeted at a seperate check-in counter with champagne, fresh fruit, a warm smile & no line ahead of us! We were quickly shuttled to our building, which sits near the beach at the north corner of the resort. We walked into our room, & had never seen a more beautiful view, the ocean, palm trees & beach! Every morning the sunrise was right out our balcony! The room had a fresh fruit & nut tray, three large bottles of liquoer, & a souvinear mexican statue with a welcome note. There was a two person whirlpool in the room & also one on the balcony (talk of romantic evenings!). The private lounge area had a consierge that was there 24 hours a day, & made all your requests happen. It also had computer terminals, a bar with a bartender that was fantastic & every day had a light breakfast, lunch & munchies all day long. The private pool was nice & quiet, with comfortable cushioned lounge chairs & lounge beds, some open & some covered. With the upgrade we also got a free massage at the spa which was very relaxing. We ate a-la-carte every night & found the food quite good, although we have had better at other resorts. All in all, we had a very good vacation & would recommend this resort to others, but would suggest to upgrade to the Platinum suites."

"Was a little worried when I read the reviews had to keep in mind that there are some people that just like to complain. This hotel is beautiful we spent 2 weeks at this resort and had a great time. We tried all the specialty restaraunts and they were all good the service was exceptional. For the men out there you can wear jeans to these restaraunts which made my husband very happy. We took water shoes for the ocean but only used them once, there is a small part with coral as long as you stay away from that part your fine, our son had a great time playing in the waves. This resort is not central to the excursions but with what we payed it was well worth the extra drive. I liked the fact that there was a loud pool and a family oriented pool with a swim up bar, lack of space was never an issue. This resort has the best gym I have seen yet! Overall I think if you book here your going to have a great time!"

"Overall a very beautiful resort. The grounds are well maintained, but the place is huge so be prepared for lots of walking. The rooms are average but clean, we loved the big balcony. The beach is great, you can walk for miles in either direction Beach shoes are helpful for getting into and out of the water as it can be rocky. The staff friendly and helpful, we only ran into one or two who could not speak English. The buffets were good, although the food was pretty much the same every day. Our main complaint is the a la carte restaurants,we only tried two of them, but both were not very good. Our feeling was if you are going to have a la carte restaurants where you have to line up every day to make reservations, make them special. Also Air Transat has two computers in their office that you can use for free, but there are often line ups. The resort has a business room with computers but you have to pay to use them."

"Visually, this resort is immaculate and beautiful. However, it has only been open for about a year, and it has a few kinks to work out such as more staff (bar and maids), more daily activities organized, more drink options (especially shots), and the evening entertainers need a little more experience/practice. The beach is gorgeous, however a little rocky, so bring your water shoes if you like to swim in the ocean.
On a positive, the rooms are to die for, the nightly band is great, the food is awesome, the mojitos are tasty, and the pools are refreshing.
I would definitely go back in about a year or two, as I believe this resort has a lot of potential."
