Our Opinion of Barcelo Maya Beach

This is an older section of the Barcelo Maya resort complex so the rooms are not as new as the Colonial or Tropical sections. Overall though, this is still a great property with a really nice beach area and lots of facilities and activities.

"My husband and two teenage sons visited the Barcelo Maya Beach for Christmas vacation. We all had a wonderful holiday. The staff were all friendly and the food buffet offered many choices. The resort was clean as well as the beautiful beaches. The boys made friends and joined in the dance classes and sport activities. The only thing I would have liked was for more dancing as the disco was only open from 11 pm to 2 am for over 18 years of age. It would have been nice if the teens also could join in the later fun. The facility was huge and we would definitely go back."
