We stayed for two nights. Enjoyed the stay, but unfortunately the beach wasn't much to look at, we noticed some seaweed. We walked to Pebble Beach, 40 min. (2.9 km). Very clean no seaweed and pink sand. You can take public transportation, they pass every 15 seconds, literally. Very cheap, flat rate $3.50 local money or about $1.75us. beware that if you pay in US dollars they will give your change in Barbadian dollars. Also, walking can be a little tricky since sidewalks are not continuous and you have to walk on the street. BTW, they drive on the left side since it's a British Commonwealth Nation.
Do not stay here! Due to saftey and unhygienic environment. We arrived to find our ocean view a pool view. Bathroom fan was broken and has been our entire 10 day stay. Our patio door also did not open property nor shut. Management did nothing about it . Once I brought up the issue again on our last day they send someone to spray wd 40 on our patio door after 8 days at 730pm , our 6 year old hurt her finger on the door trying to open it. Management is rude and not understanding, or did they care someone got physically hurt while staying at their property . I will never be returning to this hotel. Definitely not worth ur money or safety, I would also not trust the room cleaners. Barbados is beautiful the Accra hotel is not I'm surprised they haven't had a law suit by now
Stay away!!!!!!
It is older nothing special but for the price point we can not complain beach access it great
Great hotel but not much in terms of events. The vibe is low key. Lots of kids in the pool, but there’s an adults only pool for quieter swims. The main pool with swim up bar is great. Without question, the jewel for this hotel is the beach and the location. Restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store, wine store, dessert shops etc all within walking distance… and I mean within 5 mins. The location can’t be beat for that. The beach is gorgeous. Lots of waves to jump in and also has a great spot that is calm where the surf is broken by a rock wall. But know, if you like a vibrant night life, this place isn’t for you. Everyone is in bed by 10pm. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and super attentive. No complaints. I’d just prefer a little more nightlife.
They were overbooked and kicked a family with young children on to the streets and refused to find them other accommodations. They Were left wondering for hours before finding another accommodations.
If management fails to manage they should be responsible
You either love this hotel or hate it. We started at the middle so as not to be disappointed either way. Yes there were ups and downs, but by the end of the week we loved it.
So check in was a bit slow, because our room wasn't ready at 6pm. There was nothing to cry or complain about because we were on holiday. Seven days all-inclusive and it was worth it. Just walk up to the bar or into the restaurant and show your armband. No need to carry money. But a tip now and then goes a long way.
All of the staff were very friendly or as friendly as you were to them.
Restaurant meals from breakfast, lunch and dinner were all absolutely lovely.
The room was okay, but had no fridge. We were promised one but after day three we gave up asking and just laughed about it. Most rooms have fridges, we may have just been the exception. We booked a garden view and got the carpark and road, which was more entertaining to us.
Balcony chairs were just not comfortable and a table would have been nice.
The WIFI works throughout the hotel and has good speeds.
This hotel is situated right in the middle of everything, bars, restaurants, shops and takeaways. That's why it does so well.
At the end of the day, this is just my opinion. I could have gone into detail about the little things, but I was on holiday.
Great position but hotel need to be updated badly.
I recently arranged a 3-night stay at Accar Hotel for my sister, drawn in by the hotel's stellar reviews. Regrettably, our experience has been alarmingly below expectations, highlighting a concerning discrepancy between the hotel's advertised standards and the reality of the service provided.
Check-In Chaos: The journey began with an unexpectedly prolonged check-in process, spanning an exhausting 2 hours, immediately setting a tone of inefficiency and disregard for guest convenience.
Room Discrepancy: Contrary to our booking specifications, the room allocated was substandard, significantly undermining the credibility of the hotel's online portrayal.
Neglected Facilities: Adding insult to injury, the room's toilet malfunctioned, with a resolution taking an unacceptable three hours, only to be partially fixed.
Unresponsive Management: Requests for a necessary room change were denied without justification, compounded by a glaring absence of managerial intervention to navigate our concerns. The staff's indifference reached a peak when they remained unphased by the mention of sharing this review, indicating a worrying level of complacency.
Lack of Remediation: Trapped by a non-refundable advance payment, my sister is left with no alternative accommodation, while the hotel has dismissed any form of compensation for the considerable inconvenience caused.
This ordeal has been not just disappointing but deeply distressing, especially since the decision to book was based on what now appears to be misleadingly positive reviews. It's a stark reminder of the critical need for authenticity in guest feedback.
I implore potential guests to probe deeper than the superficial allure of high ratings. And to the management of Accar Hotel, I urge immediate rectification of these service failings to realign with the excellence your reviews promise. Our experience stands as a cautionary tale, rendering the hotel, in its current state, unsuitable for those in search of a stress-free accommodation experience.
I wanted to rate it below zero based on worst service and poor aminities but here is option to select between 1-5 only
Good location on the beach. It is easy to look past the slightly dated rooms. Had a great time.
I have been to this resort many times now, and let me tell you, the people are very nice. I have some names that really stand out.
They are;
Michael at the front desk who works so hard. So calm, so patient, so pleasant, so kind.
Charlene, also at the front desk who greeted me with such a beautiful smile. So kind.
Deontí, I have no idea what he does there, but he spoke with me the whole elevator ride down and during the walk to the front desk, even though he wasn’t going that way. So polite, so well spoken, overall great guy.
Last but not least, she is such a beautiful person, so kind, beautiful smile, so froendly, so gentle, the girl at the omelet station, her name is Sarah. You MUST go see her! Perfect omelet, perfect personality!
I know this sounds like the stupidest review, but my point is, a place is only as beautiful as it’s people. Everything else is just brick and mortal.
May you always have a safe vacation wherever you go.
Great location. Hotel is dated. Service subpar.
The best thing about the hotel is the location. I travel a lot. I noticed the majority of the workers do not greet you when you pass them by. In my view any time a hotel room does not have an alarm clock or shower wash and shampoo dispenser it is a motel.
Excellent place
All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are decent and clean. Great location for bars, town, etc.. I've seen a comment regarding a party for staff. And they gave 1 star just to clarify. All guests were notified prior to event with times and day. Music was turned down around midnight. It was really not bad. Hence, why reviews you need to read a few. The hotel has lovely settings and would definitely revist. Still currently got 2 days left. But overall this is a great hotel.
Though there are a few cons to this hotel, I would not hesitate to return.
We stayed for a week December 13-20 in an ocean-view room and this was our 2nd stay here and our 15th visit to Barbados.
The main pro is the location. Located on a nice beach with a very nice large pool. Typically the water can be quite wavy to rough on Accra Beach but it was very calm the week we were there.
Our room was large and had a bar-size fridge, coffee maker and kettle. Rooms were cleaned daily though the time varied widely.
The hotel staff ranged from indifferent to pleasant.
We did eat a few meals at the hotel due to the rain but would not recommend it. The breakfast buffet is expensive for what is included. We did a Thai buffet dinner one night and never did receive our drinks and the food wasn't replenished frequently and was pretty bland.
There are lots of great restaurants at all price points within 5 minutes of the hotel. Worth visiting are Delicious Doubles in the mall across the road, the Coffee Bean across the road to the left of the hotel, Salt a 5-minute walk, and Just Grilling, located across the road.
If you're a wine drinker it's worth visiting Wine World across the road. You get a 10% discount if you buy six bottles or more.
Happy hour at the beachfront bar was also handy.
Our biggest issue was none of the bars/restaurants could make their own change. If you were paying cash somebody would have to walk off to the main restaurant to make change. This took as long as 15 minutes in one case. Not sure why they don't trust their stuff with cash but... 🤷♀️
Despite the cons this hotel offers great value and we look forward to a return visit.
Wonderful
I'm a beach girl the water was about too rough for my liking. Besides this is was great!
The beach is amazing and there are local restaurants near by and nice one .
Just like everywhere else is Barbados the service here is kind of slow, the rooms are good other than occasionally not getting towels but that’s ok you can just ask for some and the location is prime so good
So far the pool is way smaller then picture depicts. Not enough chairs to sit around pool. Then go to beach 10 am not enough umbrella to go with chairs. Sad. The amount of money these places charge and can't even enjoy grounds.
Not impressed.
