Bridgetown, Barbados
What a great location! Accra Beach Hotel and Spa is conveniently located on sandy, white Accra Beach within walking distance to shops and restaurants on the south coast. The action of St. Lawrence Gap is a short five-minute drive away. With its waterfall and poolside bar, Accra Beach Hotel and Spa’s clover-leaf-shaped pool is a fun gathering place during the day. In the evening, after a fine meal in Wytukai (pronounced Y2KAI) – the island’s first Polynesian restaurant – dance under the stars on the open-air terrace.

Location: 20 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport and 10 minutes to Bridgetown.

One of my favorite Hotels on the island

I was at the beach nearby

Beautiful pool and right on the beach, although the waves are sometimes quite big. Some rooms need updating but ours was ocean and pool view with a comfortable bed and gorgeous view. I would never do the all inclusive here as there is not enough selection and unnecessary as there are many choices minutes from the hotel. I had read staff were rude and unhelpful but found that to be untrue. We would stay here again if the price was right.

Really enjoyed the location fabulous beach loved chicken George's and the tikki bar.
Nice pool spacious room helpful staff no complaints from us..

My wife and I just stayed at Accra celebrating our 10 year anniversary. It was our first time to Barbados. Accra is in a good area with a nice beach and plenty of restaurants around. Accra's premesis were well kept, clean and close to the ocean. Even our King room on the U part of the horseshoe was very close and we could hear the ocean (and
chirping frogs) every night. All of the rooms on the inside overlook the pool. The on site restaurants didn't look exciting but Champers, Naru, Tapas, Country Cafe, Tiki Bar and everything in Worthing Square were very good and a short walk. Quayside had some touristy places that were good in a pinch. The St. Lawrence Gap has other great restaurants and nightlife which Accra didn't have which requires a short taxi ride if that's what you're looking for. Accra bartenders on site were great as well as the concierge. Their rum punch recipe was dynamite. Staff overall was very friendly and helpful. Seeing some of the other nearby hotels, we definitely feel we got our money's worth. Hotel-wise, we thought Accra was at or above the quality of the St. Lawrence Gap and Carlisle Bay hotels except for the Hilton. We had a nice relaxing week and booked a many excursions as we wanted with no pressure. There is a lot of construction happening on the boardwalk end away from Accra which should provide even more things to do in the coming months. We will definitely be back.

Little bit outdated. The beach is amazing

It was the best time of my life.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Says 4 star but I’ve stayed in better 1-2 stars.
While it has a spectacular location on beautiful Rockley beach and good architecture, everything goes downhill from there
Cons:
Terrible service( staff are unfriendly, I got a grumbled “what do you want?”)

House keeping is a nightmare (we arrived hours before checkin and let the front desk know, and reminded at 230pm, even so at 3pm our room wasn’t ready and I got a generic “whenever housekeeping will be done” with no estimate of when to expect in hot muggy weather. Front desk guy said he is calling housekeeping to check but was clearly not calling.upon finally getting a room and over the next few days all I saw is house keeping carts with loitering staff busy on their phone. The employees from hell one lady was on browsing on her phone while idly mopping with another hand to the side creating a wet mess in a common bathroom without so much as a sign to warn it’s wet. Expectedly bathrooms were not clean)

MOLD- there was clearly mold in our ocean view suite’s bathroom. The exhaust fan wasn’t working and there was a definitive mold smell. Housekeeping came by and we asked them to fix the exhaust fan. After 3 days nothing. I could see black mold! Developed an allergy, runny nose, scratchy throat and eventually fever from staying in the room and the staff could t be bothered. This place will kill you, stay away. Ruined our Barbados trip.

Cheap furnishing- not sure why they chose cheap motel level furniture in the rooms, it’s a sad sight.

Upon checkout they made us wait for the manager and wasted a full hour ending in no action or accountability.

Others- AC leaks water in the room, broken hot tub in room. Cheap random light fixtures, clearly a shoddy job “upgrading” to led bulbs, looks terrible and mostly baked bulbs hurt the eye.

Dirty and grimy- all the hallways are grimy and quite likely this is why they are dimly lit. where carpets exist they are filthy.

This was my first time in Barbados. The best part of this hotel is the magnificent view and beach. The sand is pearly white, almost pink and the ocean is so clean and the most gorgeous shades of blue. The Accra is also very conveniently located with many great restaurants and bars within walking distance. Room was basic, but adequate. Drinks were delicious. There are two very nice pools, one with a waterfall and swim up bar. The restaurants were a little pricey so we didn't eat on site much.

I've wanted to stay at this hotel for a very long time because of its location. Rockley beach has always been my favorite especially over the very crowded pebbles beach which gets the cruise ship passengers dumped there.
The hotel is in a good place for access to shopping and restaurants. Easy travel to Bridgetown or oistins. The beach is at the door step.
The hotel is very dated and desperate for a renovation. Certain things don't work (no ice machine so no ice after 10pm when the bars are closed) broken fan in the bathroom, room lights. The food service is slow and the very overpriced meals are almost in eatable so skip it. Drinks are expensive but are fairly quick to get.
None of the staff seem to want to be here. No friendly hellos and the front desk staff are actually rude. The cleaners are very loud in the halls and the leaf blower starts promptly at 9am. So don't plan for a sleep in
The pool is good but the bar closes at 4pm. Expect the usual towel reserved loungers that no one is using. They never remove belongings even over night. Beach loungers are easy to get so no loss there.
Sad to say but I do not recommend a stay here and I won't be back

I have very fond memories of this hotel growing up. My parents used to stay here with me while on my dad's business trips and it honestly was the best time! The pool was great and the restaurant was amazing. You have access to the beach and it is near many stores!

We stayed for two nights. Enjoyed the stay, but unfortunately the beach wasn't much to look at, we noticed some seaweed. We walked to Pebble Beach, 40 min. (2.9 km). Very clean no seaweed and pink sand. You can take public transportation, they pass every 15 seconds, literally. Very cheap, flat rate $3.50 local money or about $1.75us. beware that if you pay in US dollars they will give your change in Barbadian dollars. Also, walking can be a little tricky since sidewalks are not continuous and you have to walk on the street. BTW, they drive on the left side since it's a British Commonwealth Nation.

Do not stay here! Due to saftey and unhygienic environment. We arrived to find our ocean view a pool view. Bathroom fan was broken and has been our entire 10 day stay. Our patio door also did not open property nor shut. Management did nothing about it . Once I brought up the issue again on our last day they send someone to spray wd 40 on our patio door after 8 days at 730pm , our 6 year old hurt her finger on the door trying to open it. Management is rude and not understanding, or did they care someone got physically hurt while staying at their property . I will never be returning to this hotel. Definitely not worth ur money or safety, I would also not trust the room cleaners. Barbados is beautiful the Accra hotel is not I'm surprised they haven't had a law suit by now
Stay away!!!!!!

It is older nothing special but for the price point we can not complain beach access it great

Great hotel but not much in terms of events. The vibe is low key. Lots of kids in the pool, but there’s an adults only pool for quieter swims. The main pool with swim up bar is great. Without question, the jewel for this hotel is the beach and the location. Restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store, wine store, dessert shops etc all within walking distance… and I mean within 5 mins. The location can’t be beat for that. The beach is gorgeous. Lots of waves to jump in and also has a great spot that is calm where the surf is broken by a rock wall. But know, if you like a vibrant night life, this place isn’t for you. Everyone is in bed by 10pm. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and super attentive. No complaints. I’d just prefer a little more nightlife.

They were overbooked and kicked a family with young children on to the streets and refused to find them other accommodations. They Were left wondering for hours before finding another accommodations.

If management fails to manage they should be responsible

You either love this hotel or hate it. We started at the middle so as not to be disappointed either way. Yes there were ups and downs, but by the end of the week we loved it.
So check in was a bit slow, because our room wasn't ready at 6pm. There was nothing to cry or complain about because we were on holiday. Seven days all-inclusive and it was worth it. Just walk up to the bar or into the restaurant and show your armband. No need to carry money. But a tip now and then goes a long way.
All of the staff were very friendly or as friendly as you were to them.
Restaurant meals from breakfast, lunch and dinner were all absolutely lovely.
The room was okay, but had no fridge. We were promised one but after day three we gave up asking and just laughed about it. Most rooms have fridges, we may have just been the exception. We booked a garden view and got the carpark and road, which was more entertaining to us.
Balcony chairs were just not comfortable and a table would have been nice.
The WIFI works throughout the hotel and has good speeds.
This hotel is situated right in the middle of everything, bars, restaurants, shops and takeaways. That's why it does so well.

At the end of the day, this is just my opinion. I could have gone into detail about the little things, but I was on holiday.

Great position but hotel need to be updated badly.

I recently arranged a 3-night stay at Accar Hotel for my sister, drawn in by the hotel's stellar reviews. Regrettably, our experience has been alarmingly below expectations, highlighting a concerning discrepancy between the hotel's advertised standards and the reality of the service provided.

Check-In Chaos: The journey began with an unexpectedly prolonged check-in process, spanning an exhausting 2 hours, immediately setting a tone of inefficiency and disregard for guest convenience.

Room Discrepancy: Contrary to our booking specifications, the room allocated was substandard, significantly undermining the credibility of the hotel's online portrayal.

Neglected Facilities: Adding insult to injury, the room's toilet malfunctioned, with a resolution taking an unacceptable three hours, only to be partially fixed.

Unresponsive Management: Requests for a necessary room change were denied without justification, compounded by a glaring absence of managerial intervention to navigate our concerns. The staff's indifference reached a peak when they remained unphased by the mention of sharing this review, indicating a worrying level of complacency.

Lack of Remediation: Trapped by a non-refundable advance payment, my sister is left with no alternative accommodation, while the hotel has dismissed any form of compensation for the considerable inconvenience caused.

This ordeal has been not just disappointing but deeply distressing, especially since the decision to book was based on what now appears to be misleadingly positive reviews. It's a stark reminder of the critical need for authenticity in guest feedback.

I implore potential guests to probe deeper than the superficial allure of high ratings. And to the management of Accar Hotel, I urge immediate rectification of these service failings to realign with the excellence your reviews promise. Our experience stands as a cautionary tale, rendering the hotel, in its current state, unsuitable for those in search of a stress-free accommodation experience.

I wanted to rate it below zero based on worst service and poor aminities but here is option to select between 1-5 only
