It’s Ok hotel with very old rooms and very good location!!
I booked the standard room with 2 twin beds but the room was very very small and the beds is super small !!!!! The room was in the second floor and it has no balcony and simply no view!!! Was very uncomfortable!
I asked the help desk to move me and my family to another room and they told me we can do upgrade but you have to pay the difference. I paid $200 extra to upgrade to bigger room, however it was misleading discerption from the hotel website for the room size and look while I was booking my room at the first!!!
The best thing about this hotel is the location. The website is very misleading, Be careful!
Not the best option if you are looking for a nice vacation.

Old, noisy rooms… bathroom ventilation that doesn’t stop…
The worst thing was that they did not honor reservations for categories and number of beds. For 4 we had a double bed and a single bed (no sofa bed) we requested a change and we had a king bed and a single sofa bed….
The lady at the front desk kept saying “they don’t honor the rooms. In short, to escape…

We have had a lovely time at Aqua Aloha. The staff are very helpful. Good value.

Amazing location, so close to the beach and with an open view toward the island. Very friendly staff. Will come again.

I really enjoyed my stay at Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki. Front desk agents were friendly. Check-in and check-out processes were efficient. We got a superior room. The view was so fabulous. I shall return.

Needs updating, no food available

This hotel also has Air B&B's in it. My friend and I stayed in the Air B&B. That particular room was ok. However, the staff at the hotel were so very nice and helpful whenever my friend and I wanted/needed something. Lei, who works the front desk was absolutely charming and so very kind. A very special thank you to her! Hated to leave and return to the snow.

Even though this hotel is very simple and basic, we had everything we needed. The front desk staff were highly responsive.

I really wanted to like this hotel because the staff was so nice but our room was disgusting (1011) to say the least. We were there for a full week and finally after 5 evenings I had to say something and we were moved (for the last two evenings) to a remodeled room 1408. This room was nice. The employee was very nice and moved us without issue and I appreciate that and wish I had said something sooner but I am not normally a complainer.

The issues with the first room was;

-The door latch would not work properly

-The sofa was so dirty with stains we would not sit on it

-The patio chairs were broken

-The refrigerators freezer was fully iced up to the point you could fit noting in it

-Food was left in the refrigerator

-Floor in room was filthy

-AC did not work properly and the room would not drop below 78°. So hot our chocolate we purchased melted and had to be thrown away

-There were nats flying around in the room

-We booked a king room but this room was a queen room.

Don't get me wrong. I am not expecting the Four Seasons. I know this is a lower prices hotel and I adjust my standards. Because of my line of work I stay in hundreds of hotels annually so I see a lot and I know what to expect.

Upon check-in we had to pay a "cleaning fee" I think it should be called a "filth fee" in addition to a daily resort fee as well as other fees. I would have been ok with the additional fees on top of fees if I did not feel this was such a disgusting room.

If after reading this you still decide to stay here I would suggest you insist and confirm (written) that you will get a remodeled room.

So let me start by saying we stayed a week in this hotel but in an airbnb so I can't speak to the actual hotel rooms. However, I can speak to the service I received when trying to book an actual room . Our airbnb could not extend our stay until our flight so I figured I would book a room for the day. We spoke to a woman in her 50's. I explained our airbnb could not extend our stay and before I could even finish my sentence she explained she does not store luggage for airbnb guests. I then explained her. I wanted to book a room not have our luggage stored. She then continued with attitude listing off the numerous fees of the hotel. I actually was still prepared to book but she was so uninterested and I was so taken a back we walked away . We ended up booking another room with a rooftop pool and way less of a resort fee and had great service. Not sure why they wouldn't have wanted our business but it's their loss.

To whomever is looking into booking this hotel, I absolutely hope this review gets to you and saves you lots of trouble. Avoid this trash hotel at all cost.
Arriving to the hotel, we were greeted by Davire and Sina. Davire was a very kind receptionist. As we waiting for our afternoon check in, she gave us a temporary bathroom key as well as a map of the island and recommended a close by place to go eat. Sina on the other hand was extremely unwelcomingly passive aggressive with lots of attitude as we were asking simple questions.
As 3pm check in time arrived, we were at the counter, extremely jet lagged (19hours) Japan difference awaiting to receive our room keys, the receptionist mentioned we had to pay an additional almost 300$USD + a 100$ safety deposit. Initially, the fee that was requested to be payed did not match the fee contract we were asked to sign. When we asked why the requested fee did not match the contract fee they played as if we were dumb. We were extremely tired and had to rest although they refused to give us a room until the contract was signed. The receptionist then contacted a manager who allowed us to pay the actual fee that matched the contract. This fee as they called “service fee” was 35$USD per night stayed. They stated that this is a service fee that includes room cleaning however they also stated the room was only going to be cleaned every 3 days. We stayed for a total of 6 nights although our room was only cleaned once out of 6 days. On our vacation, we had to always make the bed ourselves, use wet towels, have an overloaded dirty garbage in our room and take it out ourselves. Also, the hotel was in a very old condition with cracks, chipped paint, toilet and balcony locks broken but that did not bother us too much as we were only there to sleep overnight and spent most of our day outside.
The only reason we chose this hotel over any other in the area was the price. It was slightly cheaper than others around that same area although once we added that service fee, we could have picked any other better hotel which I recommend you do after reading this review.
Now that we have stated the cons of the hotel, we have to also be reasonable and mention the pros. The room was clean, no bedbugs, the ac was working as well as they let us keep our suitcases stored pre check in and post check out.
Just a suggestion for the hotel. For the days you charge the service fee and give no service which is basically every day, you could at least compensate by giving a parking spot for the car since the parking is the same price as the service fee (35$USD).
To conclude, we are absolutely not happy with our stay at this hotel and hopefully may help people think twice before booking a stay here. We do not recommend this hotel and will not come back again.
Thank you and best regards!

Let’s be real. This an economic place to stay while visiting Waikiki. Your expectations need to match what you’re spending. The room was neat and clean. Needs some updating but for the price I can live with that. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. It’s close to all the shopping and restaurants. Everything is walkable. Would definitely stay here again.

Basic hotel with rooms badly in need of updating. Cleaning only offered every third day. Good location, some nice amenities like movie rentals, pool, dishes ans utensils provided in room, beach towels that can be borrowed, beach chairs that can be borrowed..

Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was amazing.

Rooms are a little dated, but you aren’t there for the rooms. 3-5 min walk away from Waikiki beach

The lobby was awesome, but our room Very Outdated room 209 210 204 .Our view was terrible dirty sock on roof, air conditioner faced the TV stand, the mattress a big lump in the middle. But the service was Great all hotel workers were very attentive to our requests.

Good little spot to stay. Rooms a bit small but I don't think anyone plans on staying inside too much in Hawaii. Great amenities (free admission to the Bishop Museum and Museum of art). Worth the price to be so close to the main Waikiki areas. Great views too!

So close to the beach, good vibe !

The elevator was old , one side stopped working when we were there and it took at least 5-10 mins to even get in the elevator cause it was so slow . They never cleaned the room . They charge a 250 cleaning fee but don’t clean . Doesn’t make sense . They said all they can do is give fresh towels . The windows have u hearing everything outside u might as well sleep with them open . Only thing good i have to say is i like they had a kitchenette in the room which was a plus but outside of that never again . I’ll go back to Ohana east before them .
