Lovely gem of a hotel, rooms slightly dated with tiny balcony, but spotlessly clean with amazing views of the sunset. The staff here are always attentive, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Food was always nice, no complaints here. Loved the resident iguanas that lived in the resort.
Variety of options for all budgets. Very large complex. If u can, choose beach views as these are closest to all amenities. The budget friendly rooms are much farther away. Manageable but not for mobility challenged.Service staff are fantastic. Alexandro the best waiter and Carlos his brother fantastic chef in kitchen. No regrets at Canto del Sol.
Some people who provide customer service, which is the case of Jonatan and Cristóbal at the reception, give arrogant treatment to the customer, in general the regular but personal service does not have the values to serve the public
The place itself leaves a lot to be desired, the rooms had to be delivered at 11:00 am. and they ended up delivering them at 3:00 pm.
The reception service is totally disastrous, they even yelled at us for a mistake that was theirs, the towel service also leaves something to be desired, the only saving grace is the restaurant service being very friendly and respectful.
The rooms in my opinion leave a lot to be desired, they need total maintenance.
A guard guarding the beach entrance discriminated against my mother even though she had a wristband with all-inclusive service.
The bellboys have a terrible attitude and are not very grateful for the tip, I say this since we gave 25 pesos and the bellboy made a comment about "don't be poor" when he himself served some cousins and they gave him a dollar and practically The bellboy was kissing their feet.
The treatment between countrymen and foreigners is totally different!
If you are a countryman, I recommend looking for another hotel, unless you want a service that leaves much to be desired.

The hotel has bedbugs, and the managers give you stupid excuses, be careful when you go because if they take these bugs home, they don't know how to get them out of your house, you will have to throw away beds, mattresses, etc. to try to put an end to the problem. the treatment there is disastrous

Stayed with family with 2 young kids for a week. Excellent people and excellent service. Every staff would help with a smile. They kept the property so clean and had great night shows for their guests. Would definitely recommend Canto Del Sol
My fiance and I go to Mexico every year and this was our fourth time staying in Puerto Vallarta. Resort is right on the beach. Yes, the chairs by the main pool and beach are mostly taken by people claiming by them with towels like at every big resort, but we had no problem finding two chairs during the week we stayed there (late March). There are three different pools. Food at the restaurants (Surf and Turf, Italian, Japanese, Ceviche, Mexican) were amazing. The staff and bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. Snack bar by the pool and buffet were convenient. WiFi worked in our room and by the pool. The rooms could be renovated but clean bed, hot water, microwave, fridge, balcony, daily cleaning service–that’s all we care about and for the price it’s what you’d expect. We’d come back here

We were very skeptical of this resort based on the mixed reviews.
Our first impressions were not great but after the first day, we came to love this place! We had a one-bedroom mountain room which was in the building across the bridge from the main building. The room was definitely dated but was kept super
clean, the AC worked, we had a safe to keep our belongings secure, nothing leaked and our fridge kept things cool. Very spacious also.
The pool and beach are definitely a highlight! The entertainment staff had activities throughout the day, the wait staff kept drinks flowing and the beach was picturesque. Activities included water aerobics, beach volleyball, water polo, water volleyball, blackjack among many others!
The food was fine. The buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) had enough options that changed a bit everyday. We enjoyed the a la cartes as well.
The location is perfect. Half way between the port and downtown area: about 10 min drive each way. Lots of shops and groceries nearby.
Tips: bring a refillable bottle as they don’t have disposable water bottles, just fill up your cup at the many stations around.
Lastly, the staff were absolutely delightful, special shout out to Pedro serving us poolside and Andres for the entertainment!
Don’t let the negative reviews scare you, keep an open mind and you’ll have blast!
We stayed from March 14 to 17, 2024 and in general, the facilities are good, the pools are heated, which seems perfect to me. The food is very delicious as are the drinks.
The bad thing is that they charge you for parking which is about 2 blocks from the hotel, there is no minibar in the room and I had a problem. On the 2nd day of my stay, there was no hot water coming out of the shower, we called to report and they gave us provisional access to another room fifth la ch... just to bathe, we brought 2 minors and there we were carrying tilichero, when we arrived, it didn't come out either hot water, I call again and a guy named Carlos answers, a bald one, from room service and he is annoyed and I tell him what is happening and he very rudely tells me that there shouldn't be a problem with the water, that he had already checked it. They gave us another room just as far away and there was no water coming out either. This time, they recorded a video because they still said there was no problem. And more annoying and rude gives us a third room. The next day, they only sent us 4 desserts to the room, which I could have gone to eat at the restaurant, and an apology. From then on, I give it an 8.
My friend and I stayed for 10 days. The location was great, only a 10 minute cab ride to town and to the airport. There were also shops walking distance.
The food was okay, nothing special. The Mexican and Italian restaurant's were definitely the best. Shout out to Silvia for remembering us at every al a carte! The buffet was basically the same every day, but not horrible if you’re not a picky eater.
It’s definitely not a party resort. The evening events are very casual. The activities throughout the day were fun! The staff were great too. They were super active and joined in when we didn’t have enough players. Lou was great with the kids and Andres and Angel definitely made the water polo and volleyball exciting. I will definitely be using “wakey-wakey” to get people’s attention now (if you know, you know).
Overall, this resort is pretty repetitive when it comes to drinks, food, music, and daily activities. But the staff are amazing and most of the people that travel to this resort are very nice. You get what you pay for, but we felt safe and taken care of at this resort and we can’t wait to come back!
The beach is not pretty because there are stones, the rooms are old and do not have smart TV but the service is very good, everyone is very friendly and everything is very clean

I think the main pool is heated but it seems to me that they turned off the climate from time to time because sometimes it was freezing.

Honestly I would give it 5 stars but there was one point that I really disliked: I made my reservation through the official Canto del Sol website and they promised there that they were going to give us unlimited specialty dinners, which they did not fulfill, it said that we could check out at 2:00 PM, which they also did not comply with.
The food in general and the service of the waiters was very good, all the employees were very attentive but the rooms are quite uncomfortable because the door mechanism is very noisy on several occasions. I was already sleeping and you can hear the doors slamming from the others. rooms and that bothered a lot

The room was in poor repair, the resort was not bad. The service staff seemed overwhelmed or generally not so great.
