Catalonia Bavaro is a solid resort, clean and well maintained. The furnishings and interior of the suites are a little outdated. However, many travelers find this a minor issue that did not interfere with their stay. The beach has a lot of seaweed but they do their best to keep it clean. The food is good with lots of selection.

We just got back from this resort yesterday April 20/24. It is a nice hotel well kept. The rooms are nice my only complaint about the room was everyday we would get a sewer smell in our room sometimes it would last for hours. Buffets are nice we tried 2 al cartes the Italian and the Steak House both were very good. The check in was very slow it took us over an hour to get checked in with only about 4 families in front of us, it was very frustrating it shouldn't take that long to check in when they already have your information. Secondly all the vendors on the beach are just ridiculous, everyday they are on you asking to buy their stuff I know they are trying to make a living but we're their to relax and enjoy the beach. They need to make a section where they all stay and if we want anything we can go to them. Over all I would recommend this hotel we are hoping to go back next year, hoping they fix these problems.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, a very nice place full of vegetation and fauna... which makes a very nice and romantic place. Everything was very organized and the food at the meat restaurant was delicious.

The location offers a stunning view, with meticulously maintained gardens. There is a lake within the premises, where I had the pleasure of observing ducks and their ducklings. As I explored the area, I noticed a well-equipped children's playground, which would be ideal for families with young children.
The swimming pool is sufficiently large to accommodate tourists who wish to enjoy swimming and the beach. Additionally, there is a casino, a stage where various activities are held, and souvenir shops located around the resort.
My family and I stayed for 9 nights 10 days at Catalonia Hotels & Resorts Bavaro in Punta Cana. The rooms and bathrooms were always clean, enough towels, enough toilet papers, amenities and stuffed refrigerators. She did an excellent job!
The KIDS CLUB the whole staff were very professional and caring. My daughters loved the ladies Raquel, Ada, Kenia and Brenda. They loved every single activities and even going to the pool. The Easter Bunny, hunting eggs very fun activities at the beach. Also making and baking cookies, painting their nails, face painting, ceramic painting and many other activities at the kids clubs. We thank you ladies!
Now, the main buffet when we got to the resort Thursday evening for dinner and even breakfast for the next few days the waitresses on the Right side of the Buffet entrance they need Extensive training they do not know how to be SERVICIAL and they're attitude stinks. They don't seem to be happy to work there and they seem to be overwhelmed which has affected their service etiquette towards the customers. We only use the main buffet for breakfast and Dinner and we kept seeing the same attitude multiple times with multiple servers. By the way the all got tipped from us even though they showed us that they didn't deserved it!. Hmmm!
On the other hand, the staff by the main food area at the buffet RESTAURANTE GRAN CARIBE were very nice and helpful but the waitresses on the Right side they most definitely need EXTENSIVE TRAINING!
We then decided for breakfast for a change to go down to the RESTAURANTE LA PALAPA and believe me the whole staff were totally opposite. My daughters were even impressed that everyone were pleasant, professional y Servicial. The lady by the door, the waitresses, the waiters, the cook, the cleaning crew everyone. We were happy to see this and we felt good!
For Dinner for the last few days we tried RESTAURANTE TERRACE TAPAS & LOUNGE and everything was superb, the food, the dessert and the service was 100% from the door lady to the waiters and waitresses!
The Pizza guy by the Sorento was very nice, pleasant and efficient.

Sorry to say ,this resort is the top worst place I stayed,the food was was unsatisfying,not much choice,very disappointing,terrible breakfast ,left overs from the night before,if something runs out they will not refill ,the rooms are so outdated ,the shower is extremely small just moving slightly and you will hit the nozzle,and the water temperature will change so frustrating,and the golf course,if you want to consider it a course,hasn’t been maintained for the longest time,don’t recommend,good thing it was free to play,but they change 45$us for the cart ,still not worth it ,but the staff really try’s

Superb hotel with friendly staff. We chose the adults suite romance section. The food is excellent and so is the wine. In the family section there is a wonderful place to have an excellent coffee.
