Little or no hot water, the waterfall in the adult pool works once during our 10 day stay, no wifi (even if you pay for very poor quality), very high beaches, strong waves for body surfing, 1 m of beaches specifically for sunbathing. dress codes for buffets are not in force so don't trust the signs in front of the buffet and you will change for nothing. Great experience in general, incredible meeting, great evenings of entertainment near the bar.

The place is failing apart and the owners aren’t maintaining the place. They are to busy in Dubai, while the pillows are dirty and not changed. Also when they do change the bedding they throw the pillows on the ground. Air conditioning doesn’t work in 3 of the rooms. Also one villa the water tank leaked. The owners need to fix this place or people will stop coming. We are disappointed after our 3rd visit. Not worth the cost.

    Nice place beautiful pool
    Cockroaches at the pearl buffet
Reception always clueless my card demagnafied daily its a pain in the butt to go to receptions, lots and lots of stairs.they offered me hospitality room because my flight us 10pm but the people who had it first chose to stay til 6pm and they wouldn't offer me another room so shuttle came at 6 and me and my kids changed at the airport

Awful from start to finish and we even left two days early.

    Please stay anywhere but here!

We checked in with staff that were rude and made you feel like you were an inconvenience to them, and it just got worse…..

Our room had mold and mildew in the air conditioning vents, the curtains and the lampshades, as well as on the ceiling.

The staff does not watch over the VIP beach areas which led to overcrowding and no peace and quiet or relaxation.

There are open sewage drains along walkways that stink throughout the resort.

The food was terrible, with the exception of the Spanish restaurant, where the staff were friendly and attentive.

The spa was wonderful, and our massage therapists were amazing! However the spa at cofresi was under construction and definitely dilapidated.

Sad to say the best meal we had was at the POP airport!

I had to login with my other account because this place is sooo bad.

The ceiling in my room leaks non-stop.

The wifi is only one hour per day, if you want more you have to pay.

Guest services staff is rude, so is the breakfast staff.

Breakfast buffet does not always have bacon.

Had 2 blackouts in one night.

At night its world war cats, and you can hear them screaming in agony as they are gang up and flayed alive by other gangs of cats.

The blue lagoon restaurant did not have half its menu available when we were there.

They had an evening show in the main bar that was a piano concert, they did not play Piano Man by Billy Joel. Disgusting!

Well, the service is totally a disaster, the employees believe that because we are Dominicans we get in for free, it seems because they treat us terribly, but for Americans everything is a mess just because some of them tip, which is not bad for everyone who works. For their own sake but they should treat Dominicans with at least the same respect. Another thing, the employees are very interested in tips, everything is whether you tip or not, what you paid before entering doesn't seem worth it. The rooms and others are old and small.
The food without variety but it is good
The place is good and you will have a good time if you come with the mentality of still paying inside for everything. But the employees look at you as if you were there for a favor.

They never came to clean the room and they did it because we insisted and they put us in a bad room 🤦🏽‍♀️

We had a great time here! My boyfriend and I stayed for a week and honestly for the price you pay it’s a great experience. Looks like a lot of people on here like to complain or have very high expectations. This was our first time at a resort together and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks!

Do not book at this hotel even if it is the last option you have. They are scammers, nothing you see in the photos is reality, they deceive with fake photos, the hotel is in terrible condition, the rooms have leaks and are disgusting, they discriminate if you are not an American citizen, the service is horrible, they are thieves , the food is terrible, very bad, they have no variety and everything is super small, I don't recommend it at all. Reverve for 3 nights, I left the same day I arrived and they still don't want to give me my money back for what I didn't consume, they are thieves.

Do not go here unless you like being disappointed. I do not like to give bad reviews unless they are truly deserved, and this bad review is truly deserved. The rooms are dated, dirty, dingy, nothing works. The TV remote doesn’t work, the air conditioning doesn’t work, the fan has no independent controls either it’s full blast or it’s off and you can’t work the light independently so it’s either full blast fan with full lighting or dark and no fan, the safe does not have a locking mechanism, the electrical fuse box is exposed and open for children to get electrocuted, the bathroom is dirty, the hot water never comes, I had to wait 24 hours for toilet paper, missing inside security lock for the door, the outdoor lock was flimsy and could probably be pushed open easily. Generally the hotel is rundown and in poor shape. The breakfast buffet is OK but it’s hard to screw up breakfast. Lunch and dinner are passable but not great. The beach furniture is worn out and dingy the bars only serve bottom shelf, low quality liquors unless you upgrade to a super VIP package where you might get something better. The only highlight is that the staff is generally quite friendly and helpful but when everything is in horrible shape, there’s only so much they can do to satisfy the customer, they go to seems to be offering a bottle of champagne, but even downing a full bottle of champagne wouldn’t help make this experience better.

We spent 1 month. It was the first time for us 1 month in an all inclusive. We found it very decent even though they lost half a star. It's a very clean city, the people are generally very nice, the sea is okay. There's a bit of a lack of love in some of the bathrooms and pools. Overall we had a beautiful month, nice temperature, that's what counts.

We spent 4 weeks at this place and we would not recommend the "Resort" to anyone who likes a clean inviting beach. We tried to enter the waters only once and luckily did not get sick because there were several streams of dirty smelly water flowing into the Sea.

If you like a quiet environment and clean air this place will not be your best choice.

Many rooms have a passage door to the next room which is so thin that you might hear/smell everything on the other side; however, should you get rowdy neighbors the security staff react very quickly.

We would only consider visiting the place again for the mostly friendly staff.

Honest post - and we are currently at the resort.
Without any question, if i were coming to Puerto Plata, i would stay here again. But i would work with Doris Sharma again.
It definitely depends on the reservation she made for us to get access to all the amenities.
When here, tipping the wonderful workers is worth it. Thanks again Doris!!

The checkin was horrible. Do not go expecting that you can go in at 12 like every other all inclusive. The rooms are out dated and in need of repair. The beds are full size and uncomfortable. The food is seriously lacking. Out of a group of 9, 5 had stomach issues. The rest of the staff makeup for a lot of the stay. They are friendly and helpful. The buildings exteriors are beautiful. Be ready to exercise because there are ALOT of stairs. The location is also beautiful.

    *PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING*
Upon setting foot in this so-called "resort," I was greeted with a facade of mediocrity, earning a pitiful 7/10 on my initial impression scale. The staff, initially charming, quickly revealed their true colors as incompetent and indifferent. The first inconvenience is not being able to step foot into the resort if it’s not after 3pm because the staff did not want to mix check-ins with check-outs.
Once we were allowed to enter the “resort”, I made the dire mistake of sampling the culinary catastrophe known as the Casablanca buffet. The food, if you can even call it that, sat lukewarm, although they were on food warmers. The only place you might find a semi-decent drink is the VIP Beach or VIP Pool. Anywhere on this “resort” you feel like you’re being tackled into buying something whether it’s timeshares, cigars, professional pictures, etc.
As if the torture couldn't get any worse, the hotel rooms resembled something out of a horror movie. Mold, decay, and filth greeted me at every turn. The toilet? Broken. The shower? A deluge of water in all the wrong places. It was like paying top dollar for a stay in the bowels of hell.
Despite the glimmer of hope offered by the Colosseum's performers, the night descended into further despair with a late-night buffet serving soggy fries and burgers. But the real horror awaited me in my room, where cockroaches staged a hostile takeover. They weren't content with just scurrying across the floor; no, they had to invade my luggage as well. And the staff's response? A nonchalant shrug, blaming it all on the climate.
The nightmare continued even at checkout, with the staff accusing us of withholding room and towel keys in a transparent attempt to extort more money. And let's not forget the security, whose rudeness knew no bounds as they harassed us while we tried to flee this wretched place.
To add insult to injury, my entire family fell victim to a bacterial onslaught upon returning home, courtesy of this cesspool masquerading as a resort. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this “resort” disaster. Your money and sanity are better off elsewhere, as compassion and competence are clearly in short supply here.

This place, instead of relaxing, gives you stress, it is the worst thing that has happened to me on vacation, I live in Philadelphia and I regret having gone to that place, let me explain, the bathroom full of mosquitoes and leaks, the air conditioning damaged, the Television without cable, a safe that seems to have been brought by Columbus, and the doors were removed from Columbus's ship, they are so old. Terrible service from the staff, they are all bitter, it seems that they pay little. The buffet food is for people who were on diets, and the group I was with all arrived with Diarrhea, coincidence? On the other hand, children and the elderly cannot do it because of all the stairs that have to be descended and ascended. At night without fun and the only show they do is Michael Jackson in pot and with a desamino.
I really don't recommend this place, the only good thing was the pools... this place is a real disaster...

Very good place, good amenities and very good vibes.

Everything was wonderful and good time so happy to was there
