Very good attention from the workers, very good food, there are activities for children and adults, it has a gym that sounds very good, the beds are comfortable, the staff is very friendly, the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

The only suggestion would be to put showers in the pool area and locker rooms. Since we purchased a day pass and one has to be changed in the bathrooms and it is not pleasant. Additional more cleaning.

Checked in today, shuttle (Bus) took 1.5 hrs from airport 😑, then found my luggage was off loaded at a previous stop (shuttle bus had stopped at two other resorts before our stop). Lucky they called and found the missing suitcase.

Room was great but missing items the Elite club or plan. Will update along our six day stay.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Never a bad experience here. The beds suck, but everything else is great.

I decided to meet him because they spoke very well about him. In the rooms, like in most hotels, you can hear a scandal from the street music, the drinks are disgusting, it's as if you were paying all-inclusive for a homeless person. Whiskeys, rum, vodka, whatever you asked for, super ordinary, the waiter at the pool was good, he didn't offer tankray, only the first one, the rest I don't know what the person who drinks it put in them knows what its flavor is, I had a waiter in the afternoon in the Shell, maybe I was in a bad mood, I forgot my wallet. I always leave a tip. I apologized and told him I'll stop by tomorrow and leave you the tip. He replied, "Hey, yes, go ahead then in a rude manner." And tips are included with the package you pay for. Well, he didn't want to eat there again and what I was going to give him, I gave it to a waiter in the morning. They treated us very well. It wasn't much, but the waiter's face lit up. I didn't tell him why. In addition to its good service in general, it is not worth it if you like to drink well

The food is average, they sold me an all-inclusive package but when I arrived it turned out that almost nothing is included, only poor quality food and drinks prepared with alcohol of dubious origin.
They didn't even include cappuccino coffee.
You can't use the jacuzzi and the staff is rude, they yell at you that you can't be in that area, VIP only.
The water is super cold and none of them are heated, I was unlucky that it wasn't hot.
The rooms are very noisy, although I stayed on the 25th floor you could hear everything and I heard everything from the other room. The beds smelled of damp, the bed no longer worked and the pillows were horrible.
It is the worst hotel in Mazatlán

Views from my room at El Moro in Mazatlan.
Everything has been great!

The El Cid El Moro is a one and done. So how can I give the service and the location 4 and 5 stars but give the hotel a two-star rating? Well here it is. From the moment you plunk down your credit card at the desk you will experience a long series of sins of omissions. The first question upon check-in is.. "Would you like Wi-Fi for your room for $50" Well , when we got to the room, we found out that we could only log in one device. As it turns out they charge $50 per device for Wi-Fi! I thought that this was a totally classless move for a high end place. After check in , we met with a concierge type lady that gave us the lay of the land, and booked us for what she promised to be a 90 minute timeshare presentation, in exchange for a snorkel tour, a city tour, and some discounts . As it turns out it was a 3-hour plus presentation. We politely turn down the first salesman who tried to sell us a timeshare upgrade that costs $43,000 down and then $1,700 per month. We politely explained that we already had a timeshare and did not need an additional timeshare. Well they brought in a shark to overcome our objections. We said no to him several times. He left. And then another shark came in to overcome more objections. At this point I almost blew my stack. My stress level was off the chart by the end of this. The beach in front of the El Morro is beautiful, but after a short time on the beach, a very loud Mexican Mariachi style band placed themselves in front of us and played crazy loud Mexican Marching Band music 10 ft in front of our Lounge chairs. We picked up our stuff and moved to the next group of lounge chairs about 250 ft away. When the band was done playing their song in front of the El Morro, they moved in front of us at the next hotel over. (Also owned by El Cid). So we picked up our stuff once again and moved about a thousand feet away from the hotel in order to get some peace. So our very first day we discovered that the beach front in front of the hotel was completely unusable for us. As we went there for some relaxation. Now the rooms look great in the photographs, but, the mattresses were of an age I can't even guess. Old-fashioned wire and spring mattresses where our bodies sunk right down to the bottom. They were double mattresses to boot. Not even Queen size. We thought that we might cuddle together in a double bed. We couldn't do it, as the beds were so flimsy the both of us sunk to the middle of the bed. So we slept in separate beds for the entire vacation. We had a studio with a full size refrigerator in a two burner stove. The two burner stove did not work. It took 2 days for them to get a single burner working. The full size refrigerator ran constantly. We didn't dare complain. Also we plunked down $400 US on our room so that we could order in the restaurant or on the beach without having to bring pesos with us to the restaurant or the beach. After several tries of ordering food on the beach and in the restaurant, the front desk couldn't seem to make it happen. So we got our money back on the card. It was one stressor after another at this place. The food at the buffet as it turns out was not that great. It was American pricing..Our buffet breakfast ended up costing around $50.
If you read the rest of the reviews for this hotel, you will see that many complained about the Mexican Rave Club that is across the street. That is no joke. They start playing around 10:00 a.m. and play at a high decibel level into the wee hours of the morning. We were fortunate enough to have a room facing the ocean. I can't imagine the poor folks in the tower facing the street. If you are coming to Sunny Mexico to get a little relaxation on the beach, this is not for you. Again, the noise level on the beach in front of this hotel is off the chart! At any given time there are three bands playing Mexican marching music super loud.
I will say that the Bellman up front polite and their service was great. The room service was also great. Our sheets were changed every day, and the women's swept the sand off the floors as well.

It is a good hotel but details such as not having wifi in common areas being a hotel that claims to be 5 stars

Hotel very well located, excellent facilities, set of 3 hotels, swimming pools, amenities, buffet restaurants, show-variety, very enjoyable, recommended

I don't recommend them. In all the time we have traveled, this hotel has been the worst, the room service is disastrous, they do not actually do it, they run out of towels at the pool, the food menu is not available, there is no variety, honestly it is better to choose another hotel.

A vintage 4-star facility with a 5-star vanity. Great place, good location. Vacation club exchange guests seem to enjoy lesser benefits than bona fide El Cid Vacation Club members but little else to knock or complain about.

The hotel would be much better if the internet was free or if you lost you would pay, but only once, since you pay there it seems like $12 dollars per day

It is a very beautiful, clean, friendly resort.

Our first time in Matzalan, usually go to Los Cabo’s or Puerto Virarta, Cancun or Cozumel but we have been very impressed
Less crowded, easy to get beach or pool chairs , great food with lots of choices
We will be back!

Terrible hotel. This was the destination for a family trip and we got the all inclusive package. I’ll start by saying the windows are not sound proof and you can hear everything outside. There is a bar across the street that blast banda music until very late hours at night and you won’t be able to sleep. We were on the 23rd floor and it was like we were at the club. We complained with front desk and at first they said there was nothing they can do and offered ear plugs. After much complaining they finally moved us to another room that was a littler better but again we could hear everything that was happening on the room next door. The property is dated and somewhat maintained. The bed headboards were peeling off and the room was decently cleaned but there were stains on the room table and night stands.
Worse of all, turns out the “All Inclusive” is really Some Inclusive. Everything in this hotel is a up charge starting with the WiFi !! And they charge per day per device, not per room. The service staff is pretty inconsistent. I noticed the morning shift seemed to be a little better and more hospitable but the afternoon and evening staff we horrible. They seem to hate their jobs and it reflects in the way the treat you. The food is really subpar and only certain items are included, everything else is a charge including bottled water. To make a reservation in one of the restaurants is a monumental task. Seems like the default answer is always no.
When you check in they make you sign a piece of paper that says hiring bandas at the beach is not allowed, however, these bandas are for hire up and down the beach and people hire them and they are loud and awful. No respect for others around that don’t like that music and the hotel staff does absolutely nothing about it. I have travel all over the world staying at expensive and economical hotels and by far, this was the worst experience. I have never felt more unwelcome at a hotel before. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because some of the staff were actually very nice but we will never come back to this place. Safe yourself the headache and look somewhere else.

"This hotel claims to be all-inclusive, but we found that certain amenities, like room service and additional water bottles in the room, were not included. Despite the option to get water at the beach, other aspects disappointed us. WiFi is not included they charge you per day and per device. The nearby nightclub's loud music reached our 23rd-floor room, and after initial resistance from the front desk, we were moved to another room with similar issues—peeling headboards, stained tables, cracked bathroom sink with the faucet dripping water constantly, and unpleasant pillows that smelled.

The beach lacked maintenance, with deteriorating lounge beds. Beachside drinks were disappointingly watered down, and the intrusive Bandas playing loud music went unaddressed by the hotel staff. The pool area had worn-out lounge beds and reportedly caused skin irritations due to excessive chemicals, a concern echoed by other guests.

The overall quality of the food was subpar and even led to illness for some in our party. In search of a more relaxing vacation, we found the experience fell short of expectations."

Super amazing and familiar

They're lazily coasting on a reputation, and it shows.

The "all-inclusive" includes only the lowest basics, but you're nickel-and-dimed constantly. Even the Wi-Fi isn't free. And they are on you like a hawk to make sure you don't accidentally get something as a courtesy. The rooms were last updated during the Clinton years, it seems.

The *beachside* restaurant won't let you in for lunch wearing a tank top. But even after you've tuxedo'd up, the quality of the food is appalling and portions are skimpy to leave you disappointed AND hungry.

Plus there's a club across the street with a damagingly loud sound system that goes all night. It's like a private concert on your balcony of the most obnoxious music. Avoid this overpriced embarrassment to Mexican hospitality.
