Flamingo Las Vegas Vacations

Las Vegas, United States

Flamingo, the famous name that kick-started Las Vegas. Though 'Bugsy' Siegel's original hotel is now long gone, the Flamingo Las Vegas is still very much alive and kicking. An abundant variety of shows, action-packed casino, and the lush tropical pool area makes the Flamingo a great destination.

Location: Center strip, across from Caesar's Palace and the Bellagio.

Our Opnion

The Flamingo has a wonderful, tropical pool area and a large lively casino. The entertainment is first-rate as there are many wonderful shows and stand-up acts. The rooms are clean and well kept. The hotel is a little older but the rooms have been renovated and it's in a great central location. Very well priced. Recommended for its location and good value.

The location of the hotel is perfect, but I don't have much else to say positive about it. The cleaning left a lot to be desired. The maintenance of the room is terrible. The service really disappointed me. I wouldn't go back at all. For a small price difference you can book a much better hotel. My photos speak for me. Detail: the false eyelashes in the photo were not mine and illustrate the care taken in cleaning the room.

Beautiful hotel, surroundings, and pool. Good to go with the entire family, but preferably only adults. The water was freezing 🥶 so I didn't go into the pool. It was packed, as you can see in the video, but well care taken. The service into the hotel bar was good, but the staff in the pool area in one of the bars didn't tell me they were close even the bar didn't say anything and the doors were open. After ten minutes, some of the staff saw me standing there, they called someone through radio to come and tell me that the bar were close. It was stupid, but...🤷🏽‍♀️ Very pricey drinks into the pool bar.. Two small drinks almost $60.

We recently had 30 people stay at the Flamingo for 6 nights total for my best friend's wedding. Unfortunately, not only were the bride's airpods stolen from her room during the trip, but the groom's backpack (containing his computer and other valuables) were also stolen from their room.. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. The bride's family immediately contacted security and they openly said, "There are ways to get into the room if you don't put the lock block on." The bride originally did not put the lock block on as she went to bed early and the groom wasn't going to be back until later that night. Security then proceeded to say that they do not have cameras in the hallways nor do they have cameras in the elevators.

After sharing the news with the groom's family, his parents said that someone had also attempted to get into the their room and failed due to the extra lock.

As one can imagine, the bride's family (and everyone for that matter) are absolutely livid that the bride had strangers break into her room and steal her belongings as she was ALONE AND ASLEEP. Luckily, the stolen property was located right by the door so once they realized someone was in the room, they must have taken the belongings and left quickly.

As if that was not enough, the bridal party shared that they also saw a man walking down their hallway trying to get into hotel rooms but they assumed he was drunk and forgot his room number.

It is deeply concerning that despite multiple incidents of attempted break-ins and thefts, the hotel management displayed a shocking lack of urgency and empathy in addressing the situation. Instead of promptly investigating and implementing measures to ensure the safety of their guests, they seemed indifferent to the distress and inconvenience experienced by those affected. The disregard for basic security protocols, such as the absence of cameras in crucial areas like hallways and elevators, raises serious questions about the hotel's commitment to guest safety. Moreover, their dismissive response to the breach of security reflects a troubling disregard for accountability and a failure to fulfill their duty of care. This incident not only tarnishes the reputation of the Flamingo but also highlights the need for greater transparency and accountability in ensuring the safety and well-being of hotel guests.

Location was great. We were right on the middle of the strip. Across from Caesars palace and Bellagio. Flamingoes we're pretty cool. Had a nice view from our room as well. A few things I didn't like, for one the resort fee. They claim it's for the phones and gym but we didn't use the gym at all and we have our cell phones. They should give you the option to use those services instead of just charge you. Seems to me it's just another way to get ripped off in Vegas. If they want to charge a resort fee, they should at least put microwaves in the rooms. We wasted a lot of money on food because we had to throw it away since we couldn't warm it up to eat it later. I also hate that there wasn't a bathtub. After walking the strip all day, all I wanted to do was soak in a hot bath before bed. Our room was joined with another room which was ok until we got neighbors and we heard their whole conversation all night. Overall, it was ok. Next time we go to Vegas I'm going to check out a different hotel with a tub and microwave.

The only reason this hotel gets a two star is for the location. The staff is extremely rude. At check in, my husband asked about ordering Uber eats and where is the best location to tell the driver to drop off the food. The woman at the front desk informed us that we should tell them to drop the food off at the bell desk or the front desk. We did that, and the Uber eats driver dropped off the food at the bell desk and showed us a picture. My husband went to grab the food when the driver was 4 minutes away. He gets to the bell desk and the bell boy put the food next to the TRASH CAN. Then he proceeded to tell my husband "NEXT TIME YOU NEED TO MEET WITH YOUR DRIVER!" My husband didn't want to engage with this angry petty boy and just said yup thanks.
The carpet in the hotel rooms are filthy, looks like they have never been carpet cleaned. The bathroom sink is missing the sink drain cover so you can see all the nasty in there. The bathtub drain is disgusting as well. The couch in the hotel room is so dirty I don't feel comfortable sitting on it.
I attempted to contact management, and was put on hold for 9 minutes only to be told that no one is available to help me and I should head downstairs later.
Sucks that I have to waste my vacation time to try to find a solution for this, as I have been trying to change hotels. Definitely do not recommend.

I will say the Flamingo has a wonderful overall theme and a great location being on the strip. The ducks and flamingos on the property are very cool.

We booked 2 rooms through Allegiant to be adjoining but had incredible difficulty when checking in. Not only did the check in take an hour wait due to the sheer volume of customers, but we were directed to a virtual kiosk that was unable to help us. When we talked to an associate we were not able to get our guaranteed adjoining rooms and had extra fees to pay for some reason.

My room was not visited by room service for the first three days I stayed there and we had to call the front to get it made up.

The shampoo and conditioner dispenser in my shower were empty from the beginning of my stay and not refilled after I finally received room service. Body wash and hand soap is not included in their bathroom amenities, either.

The pillows in the room are also very stiff and large so it hurts your neck to sleep on.

We had similar issues with check out. There was a ridiculously long line and none of the kiosks allowed us to check out. Because we were short on time and needed to get back to the airport we had to just leave.

All of these things were very incredibly frustrating and stressful. While the location and general vibe is nice, I'm not sure it was worth all the trouble regarding the rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo. The location cannot be beat, being mid Strip makes it easy to get to all the big attractions on the strip. We mostly walked but we also used the monorail which has a station right at the hotel which was handy. The rooms and casino are dated. The rooms had no added glam but for the price you get what you paid for. We had an attraction view which showed us the High Roller, Sphere and pool. The casino has lots of options for slot and table play. We never ate at our hotel but there were options to do so but be prepared to pay for it. The flamingos were neat to see, the garden is a nice spot to rest and drink a coffee. (Minimal seating) The pool opened while we were there. It was very clean but very cold as it is not heated. You cannot bring any drinks to the pool, not even water. A pop was $10US and a beer was $14US. If you plan to get drunk by the pool, you will need a lot of moola! Overall, our trip to the Flamingo was good.

The renovated rooms were nice. One suggestion on the bathroom/shower.....move the body wash/shampoo and conditioner dispensers to the end wall of the shower....the showers are narrow as it is and with having them smack dab right in the middle, you keep bumping into them and limits the space as it is....very awkward and inconvenient. Also, all of them were empty...

Unloading, check-in and parking are a challenge to navigate. Fees to check-in early. No coffee set-up in the rooms. Could not get the water warm to shower. Internet bandwidth nonexistent and was actually blocked on the casino floor, so you cannot call, text, or receive calls or texts. Overpriced drinks and meals. Most gaming tables either full or no dealer available. Lots of personnel doing nothing in the high roller areas because no gamblers. Could not check-out online. Even attempting to leave the parking garage was a struggle. Conflicting exit signage and no instructions on how to use room key to get gate arm to raise up. Strongly suggest you stay anywhere else.

Didn't stay there just walking through there

Good hotel, pleasant and safe.

Nice casino with a lot inside and outside to do.

What a fabulous stay at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas! From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by the iconic pink charm and retro vibes. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a dreamy bed and clean bathroom. However, I was disappointed that the daily 50$ fee wasn’t mentioned when I bought my tickets, and the early check-in fee of $40 was a surprise. Additionally, the lines to check in were huge, which was a bit frustrating. But overall, the excellent service and prime location made up for it. 5 stars and a recommendation to fellow travelers!

The location makes this place so desirable. Located in the Center of the strip, with the Linq promenade (mini strip full of shops and restaurants) 2 minutes from your hotel room. The rooms are nothing special, and probably could be cleaner lol. The service is good, but they definitely expect to be tipped or the quality of service will lower. The price is right and location is even better. I would recommend the flamingo to friends and family who are looking for a budget friendly stay.

Went for a getaway with my lady for valentines Day. Spend sometime on the strip. We got a beautiful view of the flamingo habitat. I highly recommend checking it out if you stay there. They have small shows where they tell you about the wildlife they keep there along with the flamingos. The hotel is clean and the staff are nice.

It is one of the better hotels in the old Vegas area. This location has a lot of nice amenities all while still having lower prices than other locations on Fremont Street and the strip.

I have stayed here a few times, and it is a bang for your buck. This location has food vendors inside that are pretty good too.

Didn't stay, but visited while walking the strip. Did watch the X Burlesque and that was a great show

Location was great!

I was not expecting the smell!!! The lobby smelled like smoke from the casino but worse than any other casino. On top of the smoke they had some horrible air freshener to throw in the mix. That odor is forever etched in my brain.

Rooms- we booked 2 strip view rooms. Got neither. Got instead two rooms on different floors facing away from strip. Barely any hot water, guess that’s better than none, which occurred the week before we arrived. I had to ask for cleaning service after day 2 so we could have towels. But did get service immediately once asked. Apparently our rooms were upgraded. They were clean and free from odor, but far from special. Curious but not, to see non- upgraded rooms.

The receptionist lied about fees. But if I read the fine print I would have known. That’s more on me but she should have been honest when I asked straight out.

Starbucks at times was run by 2 staff. Awful for a hotel this size. Awful for the workers too I’m sure.

All in all. I may stay here again if the price was right, but being prepared for the above issues. Even with the issues, it wasn’t terrible. We still had a good time.
