Our Opnion

A pleasant and modest place to stay in Cancun. Really comfy rooms and suites. The team of super attentive staff ensure that your room is always clean and maintained regularly. The beach is spectacular. The pool is pleasant but it is a bit smaller than other resorts available, so make sure that you reserve a lounger early in the morning to avoid having to fight for a spot. There are plenty of food options to choose from. Overall, the quality of the food is good. Make sure to check out Pier 12 for their seafood and pasta. The bar drinks aren't bad either. The bartenders are not sparing with their pours! The sister resort, Great Parnassus is a few minute's walk away. This location is really great for those who are wanting to swim along a better beach.

I recently traveled to this resort as of 03/06/2024 (4 days) for my best friend's bachelorette and the experience was absolutely TERRIBLE. This place should not be considered a resort, im honestly confused as how they are still running as a business. We as a group experiences nurmerous amounts of issues with the resort and their staff, from being completely rude and disrespectful (the man that works the front desk at night).

Upon my arrival with the bridal party we were informed that only one of our 3 rooms were ready and when all of the rooms were ready we had been given ONE KEY PER ROOM despite that there being 7 of us in total....When asked for another key we were informed that there are not enough keys for us to have a second one and to try again tomorrow. Entering the rooms there is a STRONG MOLDY smell that makes it unbearable to stay in the rooms, and made a few of the girls physically sick. If you do decide to stay in the room, I highly suggest keeping the balcony door open or switching the air to vent. Later that night we realized that none of the rooms had towels or washcloths. I spoke to a man at the front desk and was informed that ONE of my THREE rooms does not include towels or washclothes and it would be extra money in addition to receiving water (out of all of the resorts I've stayed in I've never experienced this or heard of this). In addition to not having any towels you are hit with an eco-friendly tax for each from for about $6 a night.

The food was mediocore and many of the resturants did not stay open as late as the were suppose to. Our last night there we ended up ordering pizza from dominos. In addition to this there was not much of.a night life here on the resort (my friends and I often left the resort to have fun senor frog, ect). The resort is a on a main strip which makes it nice to get to the shopping center or other bars/clubs. There were two employees at the resort I was greatful for Martin who often greeted the visitors and "El Tio" the gentleman who helped with the excursions.

If I ever go back to Cancun, I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN.

The hotel is a bit old and yes, it requires remodeling. Beyond that, the food at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants is EXCELLENT. Fresh and the people who work there are really very friendly.
To highlight the attention of Mr. Julian at the Oldbarn restaurant, which we have been to several times because he was always very attentive to us. It is important to clarify that the restaurants do not require prior reservation and that the lounge chairs on the beach have a line of umbrellas.

Rooms and hotel really outdated . Need to renovate. Food was OK. Drinks OK as expected at an all inclusive. They need too give more then 2 bottles of water per day. Especially if its 2 or more ppl in a room . I rather drink bottle water so I was damn near dehydrated while at the resort. Room service was a joke. I called down to order food twice and never received it . Not a party resort so if your looking to party DO NOT stay here.
Pool is nice and clean
Beach is breath taking

Excellent service and attention, good facilities

My dad is returning from staying there and he liked it a lot, he says that the food is good, that the service is very friendly, that it is excellent if the plan is to stay inside the hotel, that it has good music to entertain, they have a gym with good facilities, and activities such as beach volleyball or in the pool

The only bad thing is that it is a bit far away from taking public transportation.
As for the hotel, he was very satisfied.

The hotel is extremely run down. Ceilings leaking all over. Water leaked into my personal belongings while i was gone from the room. Buckets and towels around catching the water. No hot water. Sometimes the water was lukewarm, other times just plain cold. I had to switch rooms because there was so much water coming from the ceiling and the wall. The second room had a very loud air conditioner. So loud that it was impossible to sleep. This place was a waste of my money.

This resort is an Adult Only resort and spa. Which was perfect for me because I didn't want to hear kids screaming and running around while I was enjoying a peaceful retreat. Loved the customer service. The chef downstairs next to the pool who makes the tacos at night is very friendly and has no problem making them as you prefer. The ocean view room has a beautiful view. The entire staff at Golden Parnassus customer service is a 10-10. Free room service is included in the all inclusive. The club that's located near the front entrance of the resort, called "The Sixties", is the best place to get your drinks. Overall, this will be my go to resort to stay whenever I'm in Cancun. You also have 4 different restaurants to chose from to eat at all inclusive. All I did was tip the servers. The staff are so thankful for the tips that they receive. All in all, I had a great experience.

CONS: my biggest takeaway from this resort is it gives lazy landlord special, initial shock is well underwhelming. Food at all restaurants is mediocre, edible but not very appetizing." 24hr room service" is not so much true. they will pick up and serve you if they feel up to it OR you will just get hung up on multiple times or no answer at all. Besides the just lack of updating biggest downfall for me was the safety of my room. lock on our door was broken the entirety of our stay. they said they would fix it, they never did. the front door could have easily been broken into and you could see straight through the trim and no additional lock from the inside. Walls are paper thin and can hear every door slam on your floor. Bedding and towels were clean but had previous stains on all of them, sheets were no longer white but more of a dingy off white. it's just OLD. even just changing out fixtures and hardware would give it that much more of an appeal to the eye. or even just fixing the light that was hanging off the wall would have been a plus

PROS: Ocean view! the view is beautiful, absolutely stunning. this is why you stay here- beach and pool. saw beach get raked multiple times while we were out there and every morning someone was either cleaning the pool or testing the water to make sure it was safe. majority of the staff was attentive. The clientele is nice too everyone was super friendly and easy going. more directed towards a more mature crowd. if anyone under 25 was here they were with family. not a "party" hotel. the crepe station and taco station was better than any of the restaurants.
this is truly a "resort" you come to just sit and hangout at the beach an pool.

We just returned from a 6 day 5 night stay. While the beach and view were top notch, the food and resort itself were severely lacking. Although our trip was very affordable, we expected more and will not be returning. Very much a case of you get what you pay for.

No one ever answers there phones, want to book but can’t because no one will answer smh. Must not know how to use a phone. Smh

Very good food and very friendly staff but the hotel was very old at midnight we had to change rooms because it was full of water and they were given one of very low quality

I have visited at least 9 times. Certain things, like the closed Shangri La, and nightly entertainment, no evening bay rides, are a bit disappointing. Yet overall for the price it’s a great deal.

Old but comfortable hotel. The hot water in the room is scarce. It shows that the internal part of the hotel lacks maintenance. The elevators are quite old. All the outside facilities are very good. It has a lot of space on the beach and the service was good.

The greatest staff, the resort is small but talking with other guests they come back year after year. The beach is beautiful and we could actually swim in the ocean . Excellent food and the buffet staff always greeted us by name!! Oscar,Kenny and Heider were so sweet and attentive!! Always knew our drinks and had them waiting for us as soon as we entered!!! I would definitely recommend this resort because of above reasons!!! Our housekeeper Meracele was also excellent !!!! Best I’ve ever known !! The only negative was the noise at night til 2am difficult to sleep so I would recommend staying on 5th or 6 th floor !!! We were on 2nd above the lobby and bars Overall I would definitely return because of the staff and great food!! And adult only was a plus. Their entertainment staff was during the day only. At night you were on your own

This place is old, lots of stairs to get to pool and lobby. Elevators to room.
Food was decent, loved the steaks at the Barn. Friend loved the muscles at the sea food place. Went to Market 28 on bus,if you go, walk down 4 more blocks the first place they stop is NOT the market and more pushy to get u in. However, free shots of tequila so lol.
The hotel had alot of spots leaking in hallways, buckets everywhere and we witnessed stuff falling from ceiling almost hitting his head. They really need to update this place. They were not good at telling us about any activities and they do not use their theater.
Staff was awesome!! Will I ever come back? Probably not as I want to see many more places. Do I regret coming here? Hell NO but be prepared it isn't a RIU..

Nice place had great time

We had a great vacation. The staff were great, the food was delicious, the beach was awesome. My only caution would be that building maintenance seems to be low priority. There were multiple water leaks in the common areas for the duration of our 2week stay that seemed to be addressed only when they were getting close to being 'out of control '. I had occasion to wonder if the owners were financially stretched.

We went to celebrate a birthday. Everyone was very attentive and the food and drinks were very delicious in the old restaurant.

I would not recommend this resort to anyone. We cancelled our reservation within the appropriate time frame and it has been over 2 months and we have yet to see a refund.
