The best place we stayed out of our 3 hotels on the island , and the first on the French side. It was the little touches like a welcome basket and wine, keyless bracelet entry to our room, and activities available, as well as epic sunsets and proximity to beach, restaurants, and nightlife that made it amazing. I'm just sad we didn't discover this gem earlier or else we would have stayed there for the majority of our trip.

We loved our stay at Grand Case Beach Club. First the room was great and well cleaned each day. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We ate a number of meals at the on-site Sunset Grill which offered good selection of options and daily specials. Once you complete a short form you can charge all further meals to your room. The town of Grand Case is a short walk and offered many exceptional restaurants. We ate at Oceans82 and Java and had ocean-side tables and great food at both. The walk is very safe with police stationed every 100 yards or so along the road.

On Thursday the staff had a meet and greet with free food and drinks on the pool deck where we got to meet the staff and manager as well as other guests. It was a nice touch. The hotel offers nightly shuttle to Grand Case at 6pm for $4 per person. This was great for dinner in town if you didn’t feel like walking.

Be aware that taxis and tips at restaurants are mostly cash only so come prepared with adequate cash. You can charge your meals on your credit card. They accept dollars or Euros and there are several ATM in the area but none at the hotel.

We arrived to a complimentary bottle of red wine and later in the week a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon.

On Wednesday the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle to Philipsburg for shopping but failed to state the trip was sponsored by one of the many many jewlery shops and we were obligated to take a short stroll through the shop. Since there was no pressure to buy it was no big deal but we thought the hotel should have been more forthcoming about this aspect of the “free” shuttle. Philipsburg is loaded with jewelry shops so we abandoned the free shuttle back to the hotel and caught a cab to Maho beach for lunch at the Sunset Cafe and to watch the planes land low over the beach. This is a “don’t-miss” experience. We later took a cab to Mullet Beach which was very beautiful but the surf was very rough. We were knocked down several times and both lost our sunglasses. 😱🌊

All in all we loved the resort and have nothing bad to say. They have an on-site laundry and sell detergent pods at the front desk. The staff was great and the rooms were clean and well appointed.

I loved the staff polo shirts with the hotel logo on the front breast pocket area but they don’t sell these (WHY?!). They do sell boring white or black T-shirts with the hotel logo silkscreened on the front (nothing on the back) but I wasn’t interested in those. I think they are missing a huge opportunity to sell the cool dry-fit polos in nice colors like mint green or royal blue but after asking several different staff members at the front desk I gave up on any hopes of securing one of the shirts.

I had a great stay here and could easily see coming back.

Very spacious room with everything clean and in great shape. You've got the beach right here, a very good restaurant on-site, incredible views (amazing sunsets!). Good service all around. Really can't think of much complain about. There was a lot of sea grass / seaweed washed up when I happened to be here, but that's just nature.

St. Martin isn't a huge island - it can be as quick as a 20-30 minute drive to get to GCBC from SXM airport, and it's easy to go out to other parts of the island and explore around. The great restaurants in Grand Case are an easy ~15 minute walk.

Incredible stay, next time we will be booking the loft suite much better for a family of 3

Beautiful 75 room hotel on the french side, Grand Case is where many of the great restaurants are located. Super friendly staff at this hotel. 2 gorgeous beaches, separated by a very nice casual French bistro in the middle serving 3 meals a day. I give it 5 stars but not like the pretentious Ritz Carltons but because it’s super clean, well staffed and big time ocean views. Plenty of room to kick back on many beach chairs and many more hammocks and lounge chairs under the trees overlooking the 2 beaches. If you are bringing kids, fully equipped kitchen in many rooms. Highly recommended

My family and I arrived at the Grand Case Beach Club ready to love it - a location we booked specifically for the private beaches. Within only a few hours, however, I almost booked us into another hotel, and here’s why.

The day before we arrived, the island had experienced severe winds, so a TON of seaweed had covered the hotel’s private beach. Of course, I completely understand the hotel has no control over the wind and the amount of seaweed the ocean dumps on the beach but what we found ourselves disappointed with for our entire stay was how the hotel handled the situation.

For example, when we checked in, the front desk provided us with a short letter explaining they had recently experienced a “little problem” with seaweed on the beach. A “little problem” was an understatement, to say the least. Immediately after we checked in, we walked over to the water to find a pile of seaweed almost a foot high that spanned the entire length of the beach, not to mention how it filled the water. Taking a closer look at the letter they provided, the hotel’s position was that sweeping the seaweed back into the water (rather than sweeping it aside or anywhere else, for that matter) was the most ecologically-friendly solution to the issue and that it would clear up within a few days.

That was March 30th. We checked out on April 4th and there was still a LOT of seaweed on the beach. Why? Because sweeping it into the ocean only seems to wash it back onto the beach overnight. Rather than sweeping it toward either side of the beach, their best solution was to put it right back in the water because, apparently, that's what is best for the seaweed rather than the hotel’s guests.

So, our solution to the “little problem” was to drive to other beaches every day that were either seaweed-free or where other hotels cleaned the beaches by sweeping the seaweed to the side of the beach. As a result, we spent (read: wasted) a fair amount of money renting chairs at different beaches around the island.

Also, for $400+ per night, one would not expect to find brown water coming out of the showerhead but check out the video I took of the shower in our room. This happened every time I turned on the water. Sure, it only lasted about a minute, but really?

As for the rest of Grand Case about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, it leaves a lot to be desired. There’s a reason you can’t access the Grand Case Beach Club without passing through heavy metal gates and there’s also a reason there’s a security guard posted on the street every night.

This was our second visit to St. Martin and, likely, the last.

Great Views of Beach & ✈️

This hotel has the best beach and view rin Grand Case, as it has a nice private beach unlike most hotels. We stayed in a luxury 5 star hotel on the Dutch side and then moved on to grand case to see Mardi Gras and was impressed as equally about the view as the 5 star hotel. The staff are quite friendly as well, with the lobby offering water, coffee, and towels.

Cons:
-There are no regulations at all while in the pool as it’s a family friendly hotel. Parents who don’t discipline their kids watch as their children dive into the water, splashing the rest of us guests. Kids throwing volleyballs around that hit other guests and the entitled parents don’t lift a finger. It’s extremely annoying for those of us who come to vacation to get rest. They need a pool attendant to ensure children aren’t diving.

- It’s a bit of a walk away from town, which can be an issue of safety in the evening for walking purposes. There’s virtually no taxis past 9PM on the main Avenue, so you end up having to walk back. One night, there were boys on bikes causing a scene while we walked back and it was terrifying. We grew up in urban nyc (Brooklyn) and are in our early 30s, so we’re street smart as can be and we still felt wary.

-The sunset cafe is limited in options. There’s mostly eggs and pancakes with some pastries. I hope they expand their menu as it’s the only restaurant on site.

-Rooms have thin walls and you can hear everything from the outside and inside of room 801.

Overall, good stay for the area with ample space for improvement. The views made the cons worthwhile!

Best hotel ever! Been to GCBC at least 3 times over the past 15 years and loved every visit! The staff is excellent and beaches are some of the best on the island. It’s really close to Grand Case where there is great food and nightlife.

Very beautiful place...

Awesome resort in a fantastic location!

During the day, the calm waters and white sands of the main beach of Grand Case attract both tourists and locals. This beach distinguishes itself from all the others on St. Martin by the presence of a landing stage. There is no shortage of watersports.
The Grand Hotel is known for a number of notable visitors, including five U.S. presidents, inventor Thomas Edison, and author Mark Twain. NRHP reference No. Grand Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation

The room was very spacious and has excellent views of the beach. It was well modernized and very clean. All the staff members are fantastic. The location makes it perfect for checking out all the great shops and restaurants in Grand Case.

Superb beach bar terrace very pleasant parking in the street difficult

Not staying at the resort but stopped for lunch at the Sunset Cafe. Food still excellent but service not at all what we're used to there. Views and ambiance if course is superb.
