Poor service and services

Spacious rooms and friendly staff. The lobby also looks stunning. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Shame it’s going to be broken down

The location is great, the price, quality ratio is bad. The staff aren’t friendly despite polite greetings to test their responses. The lobby is dark without any plants nor flowers. The cafe is closed. If you want to store your luggage you pays an additional 4$ per item… not a Hyatt experience as expected.

Great location, service could've been better, trouble sleeping bc of outside noise, said something to front desk but was totally ignored. Service on 16th floor was good only after I tipped, if not, Not Good even though I paid extra for 16th floor. Probably would Not go back

One of the worst experience I have come across in any hotel. You don’t even get drinking water and they sell a 500ml bottle for $5.5 extra. A piece of banana is $2.5 and a small packet of lays is $6. Wifi sucks and you can’t even play YouTube and other apps on the TV. Everything on TV needs to be purchased on demand. Would think twice before booking another Hyatt, leave alone this specific one in NYC. Rooms seem hardly like an ordinary 2star hotel.

Great Location, indoor walk to grand central and the subways. Lots of food options and large lobby to relax in. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it did not disappoint, great space that made it easy for our family to have space and relax on our own before braving the city.

The staff are very rude and have zero customer service experience: the staff at the market insulted us in our face and almost started a physical fight over paper cups (hotel charges for paper cups); we are still traumatized because of the staff almost punching us, front desk staff did not care about the horrible situation we went through and only gave us $39 discount which is ridiculous.
Besides the above, The hotel does’t offer anything. There are no coffee, hot water, regular water, tea or anything in the rooms. There are no microwaves anywhere in the hotel so we had to throw away food. The bath tub drain wasn’t working so we couldn’t take a shower.
Going forward I will go with Marriott/ Hilton and never Hyatt hotels.

Recently stayed for a work trip. Room was nice as expected but the bathroom was less than desirable. Knob on the shower came off when turning the water on and the toilet is hugging the sink and made it uncomfortable to use the bathroom. I've stayed at many hotels and have never seen a bathroom layout like this.

Hyatt surprises me every time with how accommodating and forthright they are. We had a very early flight and asked to check in early or have them hold our luggage until our room was ready. Of course, this may sometimes be impossible if the rooms are all booked, but they gave us our room keys and we checked in at 9:00am.

The location is sandwiched between the Chrysler building and Grand Central Station, so it is a very easy location to get to via metro.

The room was clean, and comfortable.

No complaints, no issues, no stress. I would happily recommend this and any other Hyatt hotel. (I’ve stayed at many Hyatt locations)

Location is excellent, there's plenty of elevators so you don't have to wait too long, but that's about all the good bits. You'd think a small fridge was a basic necessity in a Hyatt hotel room but there's a gaping hole where the fridge should be, and when you call for help they say they'd "ran out of fridges". No kettle no coffee maker not even cups. Shower curtain must not have been cleaned for ages with strong mouldy smell. At this point I'm just thankful there's at least a working hairdryer.

*Came back another time for work and got a decently clean room with fridge. I guess it depends on your luck.

Just passing by on my way to Tudor City for some photography.

Our friends stayed here on our recent trip to NYC and we visited them frequently. The lobby is inviting with security staff and they have a shop with a coffee bar. There's a lot of comfortable seating in the lobby too. Our friends room was spacious for NYC and looked clean and comfortable. They had a nice view of the Chrysler building which was an added bonus. We would definitely consider staying at this hotel on our next visit.

Something is definitely wrong here. Unless somebody got a hold of an old device of mine, I haven't been anywhere in Manhattan recently except waiting at Times Square or Grand Central for a 7 train to either head to Queens or a 4 train to go back to Brooklyn. Sorry guys!

Perfect location near grand central terminal. Breakfast is top notch. $45/person for a buffet style breakfast. I still think about the French toast. Best I’ve ever had. Beautiful hotel, service was good until our last night there when we were treated poorly/discriminated against by one of the employees there. Still waiting for corporate to contact me back regarding the issue.

Elegant decor, attentive staff, comfortable rooms, and a prime location made my stay unforgettable. I must nonetheless note that the culinary experience fell short of expectations. The menu didn't quite meet my palate preferences. It's an area where the hotel could enhance to match the excellence found in other aspects of the stay.

Either way it was a perfect blend of luxury and convenience, highly recommended for a remarkable New York stay.

Room was fine, location was fine, I would have had no problems if the security or staff member whatever they were would have left me alone on my check in arrival.
I landed at 8:40pm and arrived at hotel little after 9. There was a small issue at check in, (front desk was nice) I just needed to step aside and call my place of employment and credit card company and I was on hold quite a while. In that 30-40min time frame of trying to sort things out on hold on a lobby chair a security or employee came to me TWICE and asked to see my room key , I explained I was in process checking in , 2nd time told me I would need to leave the property if I did not have a room key! Great timing tho because everything was resolved and I got to my reservation. But seriously this guy was doing to much and harassing me I prepaid close to 900$ to keep being told i couldn’t sit in the lobby. I did not like that, what did he expect I go stand on the curb with my bag .

Small room, heat doesn’t work and they didn’t put new shampoo and conditioner the second night

Came here for work. I’m a Hyatt gal and this property is definitely substandard to what I’m used to.

Great location. With the exception of one incident at the Market that I reported, the service was outstanding.

The Bad:

The corner room did not look like the pictures and it was no better than a no name hotel.

The ventilation/HVAC was bizarrely on all the time.

The bathroom was teeny.

The coffee maker didn’t work.

The light system didn’t work uniformly.

This property looked like it hasn’t had a makeover since the early 2000s.

And can we talk about all the fees??

If I have to return for work, I’ll be staying at the Westin a block away.

Do Better, Hyatt. This hotel is putting a damper on your brand.

I stayed from February 6 to February 20 very afraid because of the bad comments I saw in various places. And I can say from my experience that it has been by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Minimum is 5 stars, very comfortable rooms (aside from why ask for more if you stay in the room for a short time), very friendly and attentive staff. The only bad point I think is the high guarantee, although all hotels ask for it high.
