Our Opnion

A great hotel! Located in Vallarta Nayarit, it has a large, beautiful and quiet beach. There is not a lot to do nearby, so this resort is ideal for rest and relaxation. The spa is big and beautiful, and effective! This is an all suites resort, and the suites are so well taken care of, that you literally feel like you're in a modern, New York apartment. All suites have an ocean view and a balcony or terrace. The buffet is so amazing, you'd think it was an a la carte. The staff is clearly fully trained, courteous, friendly and helpful. The pools are large and gorgeous and a good alternative to the beach. The resort is absolutely impeccable and is definitely recommended for the more luxurious, high-end traveler.

The resort is beautiful and well laid out with 4 different restaurants. All of the restaurants are nice and have their own vibes. Lucca was our favourite, the truffle mushroom soup is amazing. Checking in with Mario was easy and efficient. He gives you his number so staying in contact with him is very easy. Djego services the pool area and works really hard all day bringing food and drinks. Carlos at beach volleyball was fun to play with. All the hostess ladies at restaurants and the main buffet area were very sweet. Spyder, the magician, is fun to watch and you can find him roaming around the resort. We tried to tip as many people as we could and even the smallest amounts were well received, even the smallest of amounts. Overall, you won’t be disappointed. All of the rooms are nice and spacious they are cleaned well 2x a day. Everyone on the resort is kind and thoughtful, the spa was great, the service and performances were solid.

Some things that could have made the experience better- more Spanish/local music. We understand the resort caters to Americans but hearing different covers of the same American songs does not let the beautiful Mexican culture come through. We wanted to immerse ourselves more in the culture. The resort does not have a lot of foliage, it would be nice if there was more shaded coverage at peak sun hours instead of just umbrellas by the pool (could use more of these too). The music at the kids camp section is right behind the adults only area and the loud speakers took away from going to this area to escape the noise and read a book.

Amazing experience at this incredible destination. The staff works very diligently to make sure you have everything you’d need. The restaurants are fabulous. Will return again & again.

The Resort is exceptional. Service is outstanding. Selection of food could not be better. Very exquisite.

Let me preface this by stating the hotel, food, and location are incredibly good. This was our 2nd trip, the first being Dec of 2023.

During the 1st trip, there was an abundant amount of young children, at times mostly unsupervised and running recklessly at the pool and elsewhere. 90% of lumches and dinner were filled with screaming children to a point we just traveled outside the hotel and basically paid double since this hotel is all-inclusive. At that time I gave the hotel the benefit thinking it was a few weeks before Christmas and kids were off, ettc.

Flash forward as I write this March 9, 2024, in our room balcony not daring to go to the pool nor anywhere else. The volume of kids on this visit is even worse, with one of the staff telling me over 140 kids are here! They told us to try the small "adult-only pool area" that had a bar pool and another hot pool area. So much of adult-only.

Screaming kids there, and wreckless tennagers filled this area as well. When I finally complained, I was told there was nothing they could do and they suggested maybe we should actually stay on our balcony in our room!

Its worth mentioning, there was even a couple who had their yelling child on their lap AT THE POOL BAR where they serve alcohol and nothing was said!

To make matters worse, we went to the actual OPEN beach front near the ocean as I tried to relax with a cigar and immediately was confronted from a staff member, that I could not smoke on the beach! Mind you, no one was within 40 yards of me with a 20kt wind.

Ironically the staff won't act when unsupervised kids are making the property into a playground nightmare for couples, they won't do a damn thing, but light up a cigar on the ocean front, surely be ready to get ridiculed!

So here we are trapped in our room when at the hotel not daring to venture to the pool nor many other places without kids running around, yelling and screaming.

Extreme warning to couples...This is NOT romantic retreat, not even close. It's a place for parents to bring their unsupervised kids. For the money this 5 Diamond resort charges, and us staying in the best suite they have, it's turned into the very worst day care center I have seen.

This will be our very last trip here...Just wish we could depart now to another location. The hotel has definitely placed a priority on kids and not couples, that is absolutely the unfortunate facts.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is an excellent choice. I advise everyone who wishes to visit the city of Sousse to stay in this hotel due to its strategic location and its quality of service.

Everything about this place is perfect

Whatever you want whenever you want it. Super pools, great drinks. More food than you can eat. What's not to like?

I loved the place, and my family.

The Grand Velas Riviera Maya Hotel is an exceptional luxury option for those seeking an unforgettable experience in the Riviera Maya. With its stunning architectural design, magnificent facilities and world-class services, this resort offers a dream stay. From its spacious and luxurious rooms to its gourmet restaurants, world-class spa and activities for the whole family, the Grand Velas Riviera Maya captivates its guests with attention to detail and impeccable service. Additionally, its beachfront location and commitment to environmental sustainability make it an ideal choice for those seeking a combination of luxury and eco-consciousness. Without a doubt, an unparalleled experience for those looking for the best in their vacations.

I love the place, very complete in every way. Wonderful service, personally all the staff are very trained and friendly. Rooms with everything you need and very clean.
Clearly I was not wrong to book here, of course I would return.

I've been to this place twice, which for me is paradise 👌🏼 it's expensive but it's worth it. The attention, the food and above all a very familiar place.

We had previously stayed at Grand Velas in Los Cabos and loved it so thought we would try another one of their properties. This location is a bit older, but the service and amenities of the resort are just as wonderful. The concierge service is a highlight. Mario Chavez was our concierge and he was top-notch: always in touch and checking in and helped us with everything we needed.
The Infiniti pool is beautiful and hard to stay out of! Grand Velas has a great signature style.

A hotel with everything to rest and spend a nice vacation on the beach.

We came to the Grand Velas in PV for the second week of our honeymoon. I'm so glad we came here to end our trip on such a wonderful high.

Instantly you're welcomed when you check in with a massage and champagne. No pressure to do anything other than relax and be pampered. The room we reserved was ready and we were escorted right up to an amazing suite with incredible views of the property and ocean. Let me be clear in saying - every room has the same incredible views.

We were assigned a concierge upon our arrival and she looked after every dinner booking and query we had. Each day she checked in with us (how she found us scattered all over the property was an impressive task on its own - even if we were in a cabana on the beach!) The poolside staff and bartenders are amazing and the service here is easily the best we have experienced in all of our travels, all over the world.

The food - if you're looking for delectable and creative food experiences, this place is a must. With four main restaurants (Italian, Asian Fusion, French and of course Mexican Cuisine) your choices and options are abundant. The menus are extensive and you could experience multiple visits to each with different creative selections each time. Again, the service in each of the restaurants is top notch and each table is treated like they are the only ones there.

The pools are nice as they offer a main pool and an adults only area - the swim up bar is a must and they will make you any concoction you can dream up - or, ask for them to surprise you and they will delight you with top shelf creations that seem to always be better than the last.

Venturing off the property is easy - with Ubers and cabs at the front within minutes if your call. The staff also keep tabs on who is taking you to what location and when you might be back, and made us feel very safe.

We have stayed at MANY different locations globally and we have tried to come up with one con that may be considered or reported but as I typed this, and asked my husband for his input on anything to include in this post, we both came up empty handed.

It says a lot when everyone we talk to on the property says they come back over and over and over again - we feel the exact same way and can't WAIT to come back again. We wouldn't even consider another option now that we have found this amazing gem. We are so grateful to experience this resort and look forward to many more visits!

Parlor Ocean View: asked for higher floor, got the 8th floor, large room with extra daybed and a full sofa. Balconies have a lot of space and great views of the bay and sunsets. If you are staying in a lower floor, I would recommend asking for a room close to x30 which is approximately the center of the resort and will get the best ocean view. I would still prefer 824 to a lower floor and would gladly return for another vacation to this room.

The hospitality is just incredible. You feel pampered all the way. It seems like everyone knows your name and whether it is the pool side concierge or the call center or even the television! Everyone gets a personal concierge, our concierge found us in the lunch restaurant and then kept in touch via WhatsApp. Whether you want tour advice, a babysitter, dinner reservations or a late checkout - I just asked Mario and he made it happen.

All the workers seem happy and proud of giving a good service. The front desk Antonio welcomed us in and was very helpful in upgrading us to the 8th floor when I requested a better view of the bay. Another morning when I woke up early the front desk night person opened up the Gym for me. These may be small things but convey “guests first” attitude.

Everything in the resort feels of the highest quality-- coffee pods and tea bags, pillows and linen, television and furniture, twice daily house cleaning service and morning breakfast buffet that feels hot from the kitchen. The pools are large and there is always ample space in the pool side bars, the restaurants, the pool chairs, beach cabanas. And the service is very prompt!

The beach is excellent. It is not rocky or pebbles or seaweed. Just soft brown sand that stretches for 100 meters or so. The low tide exposes the shallow beach and there are many people strolling along. The place is popular among locals and has a vibrant feel. Bodyboards, kayaks and surf boards are available at the resort.

Overall if you are looking for a place that treats you like royalty and has lot of things to do, but doesn’t feel excessive or wasteful or too spread out then this is a perfect place to spend a week-- just soak in the sun and surf and fine dining and exceptional service.

We traveled in early February with 3yo and 11yo boys. If the younger one was just one year older we could have left him at the Kids club where there were a lot of activities. Babysitters are also available for $20/hr at a few hours notice if you want to have a quiet adults only evening. I would love to return to this place and cannot recommend it enough to others who are looking for a relaxing time like us.
