That structure is very poorly managed! I went to access the casino 🎰 and disco because it has always been “free” it is not the first time I access the hard rock structure, the security at the entrance of the structure outside the reception where the flags are from the beginning was rude, rude, asks and demands a casino card, a matter of I lost it but he didn't even allow me access to the nightclub inside the structure) he denied me the rights to speak with a manager or manager and when in 10 minutes some supervisors arrive They invented that they had a private party and they reserved the right of admission after 1 hour and in advance that I was waiting outside with the rudeness of the security and everyone who entered did NOT ask them about the "card" I am going to make my report to internal taxes of the Dominican Republic! I even suffered verbal abuse And this man in the pic ask me money for him and supervisors ! That was extortion ! And I was alone and 3 supervisors make me intimidation aggressive!

Where do I even begin. I’m so disappointed leaving this review but if I didn’t, it would be a disservice to potential vacationers. There are a lot of 4/5 stars reviews that I don’t believe are an honest reflection of the resort.

Let’s start with the positive. Location, location, LOCATION. It is beautiful, the weather is nice, the pools and beaches are cool. Some of the staff were super nice and friendly. An extra plus if you speak Spanish or attempt to speak it. The gym is super nice for a resort if you’re into working out while on vacation. That is the extent of my positive review.

Now onto the rest of the review. The first day, the staff at one of the duty free stores tried to get us to pay an excessive amount of money for sunblock. We needed sunblock so when we went to pay for it, they told us it was $65. Yes you read that right. Sixty-five U.S. dollars. Not Dominican pesos. I put it back so fast and when the staff asked what happened, I told her it was too expensive and I wasn’t going to pay for that. It magically went from $65 to $19 which was a more reasonable price.

The food was some of the worst food I’ve ever tasted in my life. I understand it’s mass produced so I did not have high expectations, but I’ve been to Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Mexico and the food was nowhere as bad as Punta Cana. The only things that were edible were the omelettes and hash browns at breakfast. My fiancé and I ate at the Zen hibachi restaurant thinking the food would be good. It was not. Plus the staff were… interesting to say the least. They attempted to entertain the guests by repeating popular American nursery rhymes. All of the chefs and restaurant staff kept repeating it as if this was part of their training. It’s as if that’s what they thought that’s what the guests wanted to hear. It was strange. The food at all the other restaurants were also bad. I wish I could say I enjoyed one meal. I did not. I actually ended up getting sick from eating the food the second day and struggled the rest of the trip.

We didn’t have any issues with the rooms during our stay. The rooms were alright. The beds were comfortable. The shower pressure could have been better. The shower looked like they just threw some plexiglass together. (Took a picture because it was bad). Views aren’t great. We were there for four days and three nights and they didn’t come to make our beds or replenish towels. We had to call and ask for new face towels and they didn’t bring any until the following day. My fiancé had to track someone down in the hallway to get some towels.

All in all, we tried to enjoy ourselves but I would NEVER come back here.

I didn't take many pictures since I threw this review together. But I'd stay away from this resort until they get the food situation under control. Anyone who says the food is better than mid has probably eaten fast food their whole life. That's not to take away any of the hard work the populace does, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. But hard rock execs need to take responsibility for making sure their staff is prepared. It's almost like they said...here's a bunch of trash Americans like to eat...figure out how to make it. Hibachi, pizza, burgers, Italian, steak, etc...all great ideas in theory but if the Dominican staff is unprepared there's no way they can make pasta or a burger! Duh! It was literally dry and overcooked food everywhere. Those foods are not a part of the local cuisine so it's not crazy to think they would struggle cooking it. Would have also been cool to see a Dominican restaurant on site.

We went to dinner at the “Awaken” restaurant, we were not staying. We had a reservation of 6 to 150 euros per person. We arrived at the hotel at 8:30 p.m. having made the reservation at 9:00 p.m. They almost left us without dinner, none of the security rings knew the restaurant, and even after showing them the reservation they wanted to let us pass. When we managed to get to reception they didn't know him either. They called the supervisor who finally accompanied us. We arrive at around 9:10 p.m., and they tell us that it is canceled due to no show. After speaking with the person in charge of the restaurant and explaining what had happened to us. He agreed to feed us, seeing how angry we were. Since dinner is 90 minutes, they served us everything in 55 minutes, super fast and almost inviting us to dinner.
Clear example of wanting to do something and not knowing.

My first experience for an all-inclusive resort. Food was substandard - - think mass produced-- as is th service. The rooms are great. This Resort is huge and it's a half mile walk to the beach and all in the same complex. Not convenient. Rooms do not have great views But the rooms themselves are really really wonderful. Mattress was great as were the pillows. The employees manning the stations for the food, ice cream and coffee place think they're doing you a favor by serving you.

This is our second time at the Hard Rock Punta Cana. This time, the service is noticeably worse. Not every restaurant or service, but enough that it's frustrating. Our room service came and left us with only 1 towel for a room of 5. When we requested service again and scheduled it, we didn't get anyone until they called to check on us and then had to send someone down. That service was great once they arrived, but just getting to us seams to take a lot of time compared to other hard rock resorts we have been to. We have had the mini bar cart check in multiple times, and that gentlemen was fantastic. Zen was a great restaurant as well as Toro. Isla may have had the best service! One restaurant we were seated at for about 10 min and no one even acknowledged we were there. No drinks or anything. We left. Another one took a while too, and we waited for dessert and finally left because we didn't want to wait any longer, especially with kids.

The bars at the pools are also not amazing service by any means. Especially the bar and food truck at the Rockaway Bay. Very unfriendly and slow. Didn't even acknowledge we were waiting to order for a while, even when no one else was in line to order food.

The room was nice. Beds felt great, and the overall look and amenities at the Hard Rock were great. There are lots of pools and fun things to do. A lot of things are not included in the all-inclusive, which was a surprise. Great for entertainment and things to do just cost more money than we already paid. The spa was lovely. Overall, it was a fun trip.

Hard Rock Punta Cana is a massive resort. We stayed here for spring break. The kids had a blast. The hotel is very strict with under age drinking. There are plenty of dining options but the food isn’t great. I think the small Mediterranean and Italian restaurants were the best. The buffets are just OK. The beach is awesome. The sand is perfect. Safety was never a concern. Be patient at the pool bars.
The rooms are very nice. Room service was good. The Casino is a great place to get away from the crowds.

Staff amazing,.beach beautiful. The place is old, food is not great, and it is definitely not worth the money.. so disappointed.

Love Hard Rock no matter where they are located

My daughter and I visited between March 20-25, 2024. We stayed 5 nights and checked out on the 6th day. We loved it there! It's a fantastic place, almost like a mini-city within itself. 16 pools, cabanas, the beach, tiki huts, the lazy river and water park, a theater, a full casino, an arcade, many shops, many restaurants, nightclubs, and gardens There is so much to do on site and off-site for all ages. All the employees we met were very helpful and nice. Kudos to Wilhelm, Emerson, Nixon, and Gilberto, to name a few.

Our room was fabulous, spacious, and beautifully decorated! We were in the 4A building. We had a very comfortable king bedroom with a sunken living room and a jacuzzi bath out on our balcony with a nice view! The couch in the living room could be converted to a bed. The bathroom was huge with a huge shower, built-in seat, all tiled, and a private toilet. Just wow!

We did hear a lot of guests complain that there was too much walking required to get to places within the hotel. We had to agree also. But there were many trolleys, golf carts, scooters, and wheelchairs to get around. Be sure to take comfortable shoes. Bring casual as well as dress up clothes with you. There are many photo ops for the Gram also.

We loved that this Hard Rock was all-inclusive. There are a couple of restaurants that are not included, and those are definitely worth going to. Our favorite was Awaken Your Senses. You need reservations. The experience is incredible and very memorable! The food is excellent!! The service is top-notch! You will always remember this place.

I could say so much more, but you just need to go there yourself and enjoy every minute of it! You will feel pampered.

The resort ir beautiful! Unfortunately, we ended up with a room that got flooded when using the shower. They were quick and moved us to another room, but that took time out of our vacation. The food is great but they need more people to work their bars it took a long time to get drinks. They also need an adult bar, at night there's too many teens running around.

This could be a great hotel. But it isn’t. It’s too big for the management team and it’s clear that they just don’t care enough to put the operational work into arming the wonderful front line staff to deliver. Prepare for long waits, unavailable items, incompetent processes, indifferent staff and general frustration. The beach is nice and clean. Wouldn’t go back to any HR property again, which is a shame because Mexico was well enough run to trick me into trusting this brand. HR PC is an embarrassment of management expertise and the ownership should clean house and start again.

Food was not so great, everything was far. We went several times and it used to be good but went down hill fast. Last time we decided we would never go back.

Excellent space to relax, rest and have a great time as a family.

The food is awful. Steak is chewy. Shrimps are minuscule. One disappointing meal after another. And I’m no foodie.

The burger and fries place wasn’t bad but they ran out of catsup and I can’t have that for three meals.

The resort itself lacks any attention to detail. Dirty windows. Signs sloppily painted over.

The bars ran out of tequila. Seriously.

excellent vacation experience with the best all-inclusive in Punta Cana

I'm disappointed with my dining experience here. The food quality is unsatisfactory, and hygiene practices are concerning – kitchen staff working without gloves and handling food with bare hands. Attempted to order a take-out sandwich from the Mediterranean restaurant, but was refused, being told it's mandatory to be seated. The manager, Chanel, mentioned it's not allowed. They take approximately 45 minutes to get the order and about 45 minutes to get the food unbelievable.

Gonna be honest. Was enjoying the resort until my last night when they decided to set up an entire huge wedding party literally 50 feet from my room. Its hard enough to put a baby to bed normally and for the amount of money i paid for this hotel i didnt think id have to deal with music shaking my room. Probably not a good idea to have big wedding parties where guests are trying to relax and enjoy their vacations and should probably have a designated spot away from rooms for wedding parties.

We had a less than perfect experience at Hard Rock Punta Cana. The staff was not very friendly. The food was mediocre. The hotel was very tired. Couldn't get reservations for any of the restaurants. It's impossible to get a chair at any pool. The worst part of it all, is having my earrings stolen from the bathroom in our room. We reported it to the hotel but their response was, wanting their security team to "investigate" our room. Umm, No. We just wanted to let the hotel know someone on their staff is a thief. The only things that were good, the beach and our kids enjoyed the water park. For the money spent, we were very disappointed and will not be back to a Hard Rock Property.
