An amazing experience for all of our family

Beautiful, friendly. Love the drive through the rain forest to get to the resort, however the drive from the airport is long. The staff at the resort is very friendly. The food was average to above average. The afternoon snacks at the bar were very tasty. The Tout Bagay catamaran day tour was okay. The boat staff were engaging and fun. The land portion of the tour was pedestrian. The time spent at the mud bath and waterfall was too short. The buffet lunch had hot and cold items, unfortunately everything was cold. The establishment was understaffed for the volume from the tour. The view from the restaurant was fantastic!. The snorkeling was too short but pleasant. The trip back was a party for sure. Our group had a blast. We would come back to the Hideaway at the Royalton.

I am updating my review as the hotel has corrected my concerns immediately and we are enjoying our vacation. Today has been a much better day. Thanks Hideaway for addressing my concerns immediately. We are enjoying our vacation and look forward to returning.

Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon , it was in general a lovely stay although we had a few issues for one be prepared they use US dollars we was told through TUI it was eastern Caribbean currency to which we still could spend but didn’t go as far , we had to pay room tax which we didn’t get told about and didn’t include extra money for so that had to come out our spending money

On the private beach they have people who apparently aren’t anything to do with the hotel daily offer cocaine and weed which made me and my partner who was apart of the hide away feel uncomfortable so we stopped going to the beach

The hide away reception team never cracked a smile and always seemed moody and unfriendly

But we never had a issue with the bar staff they always was friendly and happy

Our cleaner was amazing although we had a item go missing from our room which once reported to security it was returned shortly after

Location wise plan ahead we weren’t aware it was a two hour commute from the airport so after a 9 hour flight we had a 2 hour private transfer which I recommend doing it was a very long day , they do offer a 10 minuets helicopter private transfer back to the airport for 250 dollars a person

Restaurants were great we didn’t rate the Italian we liked calypso and hunters the best

Entertainment wise there wasn’t much for the child and the entertainment was pretty repetitive we was there for 2 weeks and there was 4 foam party’s 2 within 2 days

We weren’t informed the spa was under renovations so we was unable to make use of the spa I feel it was unfair to not be told

We had no map / tour of the hotel and had to figure it out for ourselves

Brendan at hideaway bar is for sure the best !! He was working practically everyday and he always had a smile on his face and checking in with us , he even made a new drink which we named “blowfield” as it’s our surname.

All round the holiday was good we did had a good time

My husband and I stayed at the Hideaway for our honeymoon in October. We did the Diamond Club package and thankfully we did! Our butlers were INCREDIBLE!! Monique and Augustus were so attentive and amazing. They were able to answer any of our questions immediately. It seemed like a lot of the staff at the hotel could not answer a lot of questions, but Monique and Augustus were able to answer anything. Those two made our honeymoon an absolute dream. Another person who deserves a shout out is Caleb, the bartender. He was so friendly and so hospitable! We met him our first day at the beach bar and every day he always had a smile on and he makes the best rum punches!!! Caleb was so wonderful and made us feel so welcomed!

My husband and I had a couple’s massage and Vicky and Natoria were our masseuses. They were wonderful. Miguel at the Aquarius bar was so nice and you can tell how much he truly loves his job!

The Hideaway was a great place to stay. The beach is beautiful, the pools are great, and our ocean view from our room was unreal! The rooms were clean and housekeeping was so helpful. The restaurants we ate at were delicious. Calypso was by far our favorite. Hunter Steakhouse was delightful. The hibachi restaurant, Zen was okay, not like a real hibachi experience. The buffet is fantastic and had so much variety! It was easy to sign up for excursions. Room service is okay but takes a while and two nights we were there, they just never came.
There were a few negatives I feel need to mentioned. The day we arrived, the dryers broke and they ran out of beach towels. Dryers were down for 3 days and it was very hard to get a towel ... it's a beach resort.

We were very excited about Grazie. Unfortunately, this restaurant has the worst service we have ever experienced. We had dinner reservations, we get seated and our server comes up to take our drink orders. He started off by telling us he didn’t want to be there since it was his day off. We heard, if we had the diamond club package, we were able to take food back to our rooms from the Italian restaurant. Our server told us that is not true and we were not allowed to order anything else. He said he would speak to his manager. He never returned to our table. We decided to give them another chance and had lunch there. We waited for close to 15 minutes to be seated. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. When we finally got seated, they sat us at a table that clearly had not been cleaned. There were coffee and juice stains on the table. Again, we asked if we could take food to go and they told us no. I texted Augustus right away and he informed us that we can order it and have our butler pick up the food. No one told us that was how it was supposed to be. It seems like the employees at Grazie should probably know that information.

Lastly, when we signed up for the Diamond Club Package, it said we would be given $600 in resort credits to be used on anything at the resort. Just note, this is not $600 to do whatever you want. It is $600 worth of coupons in a book you can use. For example, we could take $25 off our massage, but being part of the Diamond Club, we already got 25% off our massage.

My husband works at a 5 star 5 diamond hotel. He said the facilities at the Hideaway are definitely up to 4 stars. The service besides, Augustus, Monique, and Caleb, were about 3 stars. The service on a personal level, was 5 stars. The staff (besides the staff at Grazie) were incredibly kind and friendly. Not sure what is going with Grazie but wow, they need some help in customer service.

My recommendation if you are thinking of staying at the Hideaway is to definitely do the Diamond Club package. Your butlers are so helpful and make your trip so smooth. They make reservations for you at the restaurants and check on you throughout the day and always are ready to help you with whatever you need! Definitely visit Caleb at one of the bars and get his rum punch! I really cannot give enough praise to Augustus, Monique, and Caleb. We will never forget those three!!

Stay in September 2023. I do not recommend. Very disapointed. The food leaves something to be desired. I was sick throughout my stay following a meal at the restaurant.
Only positive point. The staff is welcoming and dedicated.

I’m a Marriott Titanium elite member that’s stayed at hundred of Marriott hotels over the last decade. I hope I can provide some insight on this resort.

Overall resort amenities 7/10
Rooms 6/10
Food 4/10
Service 4/10

At every turn it seemed like the hotel staff lacked training and needed to call/ask someone else to solve basic issues (check-in process, how to book transport, etc). The pool bartenders were awesome...they were the only competent employees.

St. Lucia was my 45th country as a solo traveler. This next part is for my fellow solo female travelers… AVOID THIS HOTEL. The hotel staff was not only unprofessional, but rude, consistently asking for my husband/fiancé/boyfriend. Several dinner restaurants wouldn’t serve me because tables are “based on double occupancy." This is an all-inclusive resort, so the refusal of service made no sense. Luckily I met some nice couples that saw how the staff was treating me and invited me to join them for dinner. Every morning I’d stop by the towel booth on the way to the pool and the attendants would make remarks like “you still don’t have a husband?” or “do you have a hard time finding a boyfriend you look sad alone?”

You couldn’t pay me to visit this place again. My money spends just like all the couples. I understand it’s a predominantly honeymoon resort, but treating me like I wasn’t paying with the same dollars a married couples was is insulting. If anyone at the hotel or Marriott would like to reach out for further feedback, I’m happy to elaborate. This is the worse experience in my 15+ years with elite Marriott status.

Beautiful hotel, great food and service

I just got back from one of the BEST VACATIONS of my life. My husband and I went to this hotel for our honey moon and we LOVED it. The rooms were very updated. Everything was high tech. The rooms were always CLEAN. Housekeeping were very attentive and took extra care. We had two of the most amazing butlers: Darnell and Giliane. They made sure that we were taken care of. Any time we called to request anything of them, we didn't have to wait a long time for a response. They truly made our vacation an excellent experience. Many thanks to Darnell and Giliane. Request them as your butlers. You will not be DISAPPOINTED. We had access to the entire Royalton property. The place looked like a movie. The entertainment was out of this world! You had an even time of relaxation and "TURN UP".

The only con would be the food. We like to taste the food of the islands. I think the hotel could do a better job with including St. Lucia's specialty food. After all, we do not leave America to go to St. Lucia to eat American food. But I would definitely come back here. Even though i didn't like the food, I went to the Naked Fisherman, which was not too far, and there were taxis available to take us. I truly had an EXCELLENT time and will return.

The resort is beautiful but they were in lack of a lot of things daily. We checked in Thurs 11/9 & checked out Mon 11/13. The resort was 1.5-2 hours from airport. It took us 2 hours when we arrived. A little over an 1.5 hr returning to the airport.
They cleaned our room daily but had to ask for face towels daily. When we visited the bars at the resort, they were always out of something. No vodka, no tequila, no mix for blended drinks (EVERY day).
The resort was beautiful but don't go out at night. Walking on the paths at night had poor to no lighting. 2 friends tripped on the lifted path because of no lighting.
The food was very bland and cool to lukewarm. We would watch them season food (pool side lunch) and it still tasted unseasoned.
When ordering room service they would call you back to inform you they didn't have what you ordered. This happened once in the afternoon and once late night. 2 different days.
I recommend preparing for crowds by stocking up on supplies (towels, alcohol & food), more lighting on the paths at night and flavorful food.
P.S. Brenden at the pool on Hideaway side was GREAT!

Absolutely worth every penny! Such a beautiful resort. I've been to about 15 resorts around the carribean and this is in the top 5. As soon as you open your drapes in the morning you are completely overwhelmed by the incredible site in front of your eyes. Lush green hills with quaint and unique homes atop, a beautiful ocean and an expansive resort.

The weather is 30 celcius and sunny every day (I can get used to this).

The room is spacious, super clean and comfortable. A little musty smell due to humidity but I usually open the terrace door for a bit to air out the room.

TIP: bring a travel adaptor because they have different voltage than N. AMERICA. They have one USB outlet for charging.

The room service is a convenient perk and I enjoy breakfast in the room each day.

The resort is laid back. Most couples and some families. The beach is small but hideaway has a nice exclusive section where the local tour people can't bug you. NOTE TO RESORT MANAGEMENT: Please get rid of these solicitors. It's very disruptive for guests. Keep tours through the resort only.

Snorkelling is pretty good. I've seen many species of fish, an ocean snake (poisinous), little jellyfish and lobster. Some people have seen sea turtles and a small octopus.

The food at Dorado is good but the steakhouse is my favorite. The best steak I've had, but if you're American you probably will disagree :).

Night live is simple and nothing too exciting but that's ok as I like to retire early and watch TV anyway before bed.

Check in at Hideaway was very quick. 10 minutes so that was excellent. Main lobby is huge and beautiful and staff everywhere on this resort are so friendly and nice to talk to. Just the gift shop is over priced. $25 usd for doritos lol hilarious. I wonder if anyone every buys that?

Definitely do the tout bagay tour to Pitons. Best experience.

And finally for Gym buffs - the gym is state of the art and well equipped. I also quite liker their chlorophyll water for health benefits.

Definitely worth the stay and I can't wait to be back.

The lobby at the hideaway was kinda sad. I wish they had just used the main big lobby for our arrival that was grand and beautiful. Our room smelled musty and the A/C was awful, "Others agreed that were staying there so not just me writing that" you will be damp and uncomfortable all night every night! One 110v electrical outlet in the entire room. Lots of broken things everywhere, warped entry door that was hard to open and close. Views were breathe taking, the beach and pools are awesome! Brendon the bartender was exceptional. Everyone else working is on island time which translates to wait 30 min for your drink and an hour for a very small portion of mass produced bland food. They ran out of everything even towels and random employees opened our bedroom door at least 3 times in our 4 day trip despite having Privacy Please tag on the door! Couldn't wait to go home.

The Royalton Hideaway team was fabulous! I was there the 3rd week of October 2023 and truly enjoyed the experience. From Melanie on the hype team, to MacGyver the lifeguard, to Calliste in housekeeping. They all made us feel welcome, relaxed, and entertained. I also had the best athletic massage ever! The grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff aimed to please and did not disappoint. The only thing that was subpar to me was the food. There were plenty of restaurants on site open all hours of the day and night; however, they were average at best. The resort missed the mark by not having local cuisine available. How do you not have the national food on the menu at any of the restaurants? That said, I would definitely recommend the Royalton Hideaway to other visitors for a great vacation experience.

My husband and I stayed in this resort during our recent trip to st Lucia, we loved the rooms and all the pools and bar options. As well as snorkeling right on the shore infront of the beach was some of the best snorkeling we had the whole trip haha! We were expecting to see nothing! However the food at the resort… eh… not the best we ordered a fresh fish dish at one of the restaurants and all it came with was a fillet of fish… very poorly filleted and rubbery I might add. We had to ask for some sides separately to go with the fish. I will say though if you are looking for variety and some wonderful options stick with the buffet it was spectacular! We also attended some of the events like the silent DJ night and it was a blast! If this resort picked up their food quality we would be back. Also there is no need to pay extra for the adults vs the children’s sections as there is no difference.. there is only one small pool that the children cannot attend and it is far away from the sea. It did not seem worth the price difference for us.

Best place to enjoy vacation.

The experience was not the best they always ran out of food and alcohol and the food was cold. Can someone explain how a luxury hotel run out these things. The room service is also a joke you had to wait an hour or more for your order or don’t even get it at all. The only good thing about this hotel was the butler service they were on top of everything that you could want. Oh the drinks are watery and extra sweet, For the money that you pay for this hotel it was not worth it.

I can't wait to go back to St. Lucia, maybe a different resort.

They had a kid side and the adults only which was the hideaway side.

Let me start out by saying this isnt my 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th rodeo and I have stayed at many different resorts.

The property and rooms were nice.
The front desk tried to lie about the room reservations that were booked and tried placing ppl who booked 2 beds in a King and suggested a rollout‼️‼️
(Finally got that fixed)
Front desk was very unorganized as far as the checkout process and whose bags went on which bus and which rooms got on which bus, and this was very frustrating.
Room service was very slow and they didn't have pizza on the room service menu like other resorts.
Some of the bartenders were rude and would not stop talking with coworkers to assist the guests.
They ran out of Jose Cuervo by Saturday and did not have any other non bottom shelf options available.
Janeil, Brendon, Dequan, bartenders/servers and Jason (consierge) were all amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

The lady who came to clean our room was so nice and sweet her name started with an "M". She made sure we always had clean towels and replaced whatever we needed.

Jet skis were very fun and the guys would ride with ppl who were afraid to drive or ride with someone else!

We left the resort for a catamaran biat rode thatbwas 4 hrs long and the Friday night street party! Both were awesome!

Ms.Angie had the food on lock by the beach!
Everything was so good and the best on the resort.
2nd was Hibachi.

Everything else was lack luster and barely had any flavir or seasoning, but you had a few options!

Overall I'd say 4 stars.

Small advice take a helicopter there and back because the distance by taxi/bus is 2h30 with a lot of detours. The hotel is magnificent, the place is magnificent, the sea is very clean and warm, we rented jetskis 4 times during the trip to break the routine and it is available on the beach, advice to pay cash and avoid use the credit card outside the hotel. Dona the waitress at the Doradoo grill is magnificent, perfect waiter, good service at reception but room service not worthy of 5 stars on certain occasions, buffet service depends on days there are some waitresses who are wow and there are some who just don't like to see you.
coffee in the room average a detail. harassment +++++ on the beach to do activities we cannot stay quiet at least 6 times a day 3 times for photos and 3-4 times to do activities. The Doradoo grill; magnificent service and meals worthy of 5 stars, the Zen: wow the servers are wow, the meals and the atmosphere are wow too.
the buffet is good, the Italian restaurant should be avoided sincerely slow service and non-delicious meals also no link with Italian really.
The music is very bad, drums all the time or that of the years 1800-1900, we can live in the present simply

I don’t leave reviews often but I feel this is a must in hopes, of some changes that need to be made at the Hideaway at Royalton of St. Lucia. It is considered a “luxury” resort with claims of great service, views, entertainment etc. I’ll be as positive as I can, but it seems like there were negatives associated with the positives… so here we go.

The views of the resort are amazing. Hotel gym was one of the best I’ve been in. (Nothing spectacular but had some nice equipment and big space for a hotel gym) El dorado, the seafood place, and Zen, hibachi, were the best two places for meals. All other food at the resort was very bland. The butler service is nice, but there were instances were they didn’t always follow through. It was that or we were asking the wrong person the wrong thing. We weren’t explained things very well nor given a tour or anything.

The negatives were the reason for the review in hopes of warning others what to expect and/or changes implemented to the resort. The staff with very few exceptions were just kinda there. We were “diamond club” and supposed to be “top guests” “top priority “ whatever. We paid a little extra to get this status because it was our anniversary trip. However, with most staff we felt like an inconvenience, ignored at times, and just sometimes we felt like staff was almost rude on purpose. I felt like I had to pull smiles out from the depths of bottomless pits sometimes…. Yet there were many instances of staff wanting to “joke” about tips in “American dollars.”

The tiles in the pools are falling off. We didn’t get room service for our first day and a half. They took our dirty towels but didn’t replace any. It took until the 4th day of the trip to get our complimentary bottle of alcohol (diamond club perk) we asked for specific things in our fridge, but wasn’t fulfilled until the 4th day. (Only there a week) Entertainment was “lack luster” but also had a few nice moments including Rob Zii (saxophone)and his vocalist, and the white out party with the DJs was fun. They just need to let the whole song play sometimes, as they’d only play half or snippets of songs. I didn’t understand, they were trying to get people to dance, a good song would come on then they’d change it. 🙃🤔🙄
I didn’t understand that at all.

Travelers beware. We heard similar complaints from other couples at the resort. Might have just been because we went in off season but when you pay as much as we did for all the perks and service, I just felt like we could have been treated a little better.

All in all I gave 3/5 stars just because pools are nice, swim out pool, diamond club pool etc… views were amazing, but customer service is lacking a lot. I hope that changes can be implemented and this resort will actually earn the title of luxury, because we have been to “budget friendly” resorts that did a better job than this place did. Such a disappointment.
