Smokers see a beach and treat it like an ashtray. Smoking should be banned around the pool and beach.

Great location, attentive staff, plentiful parking, good Continental breakfast.

Pebbles Beach has the best sand. A choice of beach locations, picnic tables, shaded areas for all and sea bathing for the amateur to the pros... .

Ignore the 5 star reviews, this place is a 2 star resort at best. My 5th time here and it keeps getting worse. They simply don’t have housekeeping staff and rely on airlines to keep business going. A hotel that doesn’t clean rooms daily! You only get your room after a hoard of airline staff leave. This hotel is allowing late checkouts at the expense of arriving guests. Like everyone, arrived at 3pm, no room at 4pm waited till 5pm and no hope in sight for a suite that cost $1400. Here with small children for one night and nothing more than a meaningless apology. The staff are genuinely indifferent to the number of people in the lobby waiting for a room after check in time and this this is clearly their regular business practice. Hilton Barbados will ruin your vacation, hard to do in a tropical climate but they have done it. If the person replying to the reviews would roll up their sleeves and clean a room, this might not be such a regular issue. But they will just tell me to go to their website and send them a message so they seem concerned.

Good location and nice beach front. They were low on towels during our week stay but made-up with good housekeeping service.

Overall, the hotel did not meet expectations for the price. The hotel has a great location, but is not well maintained and not inspiring. I was only there one night, but would be disappointed if I booked for a week. It also took over an hour to check in, that is totally unacceptable.

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton several times for work. The staff are considerate and friendly, though not overly so. The views are the very best part of this resort, spectacular in every direction.
I enjoyed the ease of long walks along the quiet beach in the mornings, although the gym is more than adequate. The sound of the surf 🏄‍♂️, the level sand and the historic ruins in both directions is a positive start to the day.
The amenities are top notch and staff are ready to meet any reasonable request.
The location is walking distance to other dining at other resorts and on beaches nearby. However, it's easy enough to get a taxi (a bit costly) or a bus (after a few minutes walk).
The wifi is generally fast enough and the spa has the usual costly offerings.
The area, Needham's point, is a treat for anyone who enjoys luxury, history and/or nature.

Overpriced run down hotel. A/C thermostat didn’t work. They said it couldn’t be fixed. Food is mediocre, service is slow and overpriced. The ceiling at the restaurant leaked. Water on the floor everywhere and very slippery.

Beautiful location but terrible staff at the front desk took away from the enjoyment. Waited over an hour to check in and then told room not ready even though it was 6pm. Decor in need of a facelift.
Long line ups for breakfast again meant we had to just get food at the coffee shop but hotel would not comp that despite Hilton honors diamond status having a breakfast credit.
No benefits of diamond status. refused late check out despite a late check in.
Sadly will not return to this property that has so much potential!

Such an amazing place to stay. They have everything to make your stay very enjoyable.

Amazing location, fantastic facilities.

Not enough staff, tried checking in 3 times and told to come back later, to wait in another line for 30 minutes. Lunch had to wait for 1.5 hours till they realized they gave our food to someone else. Then waited another 30 minutes till food arrived. Get more staff! For the amount you charge you should be able to get enough people.

What a wonderful trip we just had. My girlfriend and I have been looking forward to this vacation for a long time. I admit that I was nervous after reading such mixed reviews, so I hope I can help someone in a similar situation. One concern I read was about the price, but it's hard for me to render a verdict on the cash rate since I redeemed points for this booking. I did not pull quotes for other properties, and I did not want to go to Mexico or wherever in search of a better rate. For me, 70,000 points per night (with the standard 5th night free) was a fair exchange.

We were greeted warmly at reception. While it is true that our room was not ready, we also arrived earlier than 4:00 PM due to our flight schedule, so it's not fair for me to take issue with that. The front desk staff gave us 4 drink coupons to enjoy ourselves at the beach bar while we waited, which I thought was a nice gesture. The bell desk staff was friendly when we checked our bags, and the staff at the bar were very friendly as well. Ultimately, our room became available sometime after 5:00, but to my great surprise - we received a complimentary room upgrade (high-floor ocean-view), even though the resort was listed as sold our during our stay, so I was deeply appreciative of their courtesy.

The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable, and I can't really think of any suggestions for improvement, beyond maybe adding robes and slippers? Our typical travel style is to decline daily housekeeping and then ask when we need something. Without fail, there was a friendly housekeeper making the rounds on our floor each day, and we received generous offerings of coffee and towels and bottled water every time we stopped by.

We loved the buffet breakfast. The staff always greeted us warmly and worked with us to find a comfortable table, as we aim for outside dining, but in the shade. I was shocked at how much food was complimentary as a Diamond member, even though I upgraded every day so I could crush the bacon and pancakes and omelette station. I also loved the tables outside the entrance where local artists are spotlighted. They were always friendly and never pushy, and we ended up buying a little painting from Larrie that my girlfriend absolutely loves.

We returned to the Beach bar for happy hour and had a great time once again. We also went to the Rum bar by the lobby and stumbled away smiling from their happy hour too. We enjoyed the ice cream and salads from the cafe, and we popped into the on-site shop for some odds and ends.

I respect that the beach and pool aspect of a resort vacation is really important, and different people have different things they are hoping to find. For us, we loved the upper and lower pool as well as the (yet again!) friendly pool staff. The beach was beautiful, although we had to mind the swim flags and the adorable little crabs doing their thing. The surf was a little rough on a yellow-flag swim, but honestly that was a great part of the fun. I hope people give it a try but maybe mind your little ones.

We also went to the fitness center a few times. It has a good crowd during the day because locals can purchase a membership, but hotel guests have private access after 8:00 PM, so we would just pop in before dinner if we needed more space. The reception staff was (broken record, I know) very friendly and the equipment all seemed to be modern and in good shape. Ahem.

The taxi prices are a little painful but I enjoyed using the PickUp app to hail them. The little fort next door is definitely worth a look - we enjoyed exploring a little and took some nice pictures with great views.

All in all, I easily give this Hilton top marks. Because I am such a frequent guest of their family of brands, I would say it's fair not to expect this property to be a Conrad or a Waldorf or LXR, which is a big point of having brands in the first place - to help set expectations. It is a very, very nice Hilton, based on what I saw during my stay. Ultimately, my girlfriend was very happy, and that is all a fella is looking for. Good luck!

Very Caribbean is both positive and negative. Staff very pleasant. Would I go to this location again? Probably not...

Great service and location. Everything you need in one place.

Very good hotel
But the service go down

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has amazing and sits on a great location. However, the room - particularly the bathroom was dirty. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the last check out.

Had a wonderful, relaxing time here on vacation. Was upgraded to a beautiful suite with incredible views upon checking in. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Did not have any trouble finding space at the beach or pool most days. Staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Hope to return at some point.

We waited over 4 hours for our room to be ready only to get checked in well after 6 pm. I don’t think I have ever had a hotel do such a poor job getting rooms ready while also charging over $700 a night!

I spent 8 days in January to get away from the winter. I chose this hotel because of it's 4 star reputation and being part of the Hilton chain that is known for luxury, but I cannot support that level of review.

This is a very, very, expensive location. The access to the beach is very limited. There is a break water, but on the more southern side we were cautioned against swimming because there are rip tides and undercurrents, so the place for swimming was on the opposite side where the chairs were limited and the beach has a bit of a hill to overcome to get into the water.

In the photos it appears that there is easy access to Brownes and Pebbles beach. There is not. You have to go out of the hotel, down the hill, walk about .5km with limited sidewalks, and then rent a chair from which ever group is doing that.. it is not part of the Hilton Resort. This was very disappointing as the photos suggest that this larger beach was part of the resort.

The hotel over all and the rooms specifically are in desperate need of updating. The doors of our bathroom and closet were so grungy they were sticky to the touch. The door to the balcony was not properly lubricated so it took a great deal of effort to open and close it. The furniture is old and uncomfortable, my bed was very uncomfortable, and actually had a dip where previous guests had slept. This was so uncomfortable that I woke up with back pain each day.

We adjusted the room temperature to be a bit warmer than when we had arrived, but every day, the thermostat was reset to the colder temperature. We had to open the door to allow warmer air into the room and that is so wasteful. I did not understand why the staff could not just leave the setting as it was.

The towels for the beach were threadbare. Every day we had to specifically request towels for our room as the ones we used were removed from the room but not replaced. Our room was not cleaned until late on most days, and one day it was not done at all. I called and the room was serviced but all the towels were removed and not replaced. I had to call about that again.

When we arrived our room was not ready, even though we arrived after the stated check in time. The person we dealt with at the front desk did give us 4 complimentary drinks to compensate for the 90+ minute wait, and we were given "welcome rum punch" drinks. The room cleaning staff were mostly friendly, and the people on the pool deck were also mostly friendly. The concierge in the afternoon was grumpy, as was the front desk staff in the evening.

The second night we were there, sitting by the pool, a very large rat made its way around the pool area.

The walk out to the main road and the bus into town was about 20 minutes in one direction and almost 30 in the other. This is fine as long as you are prepared for that.

The small shop for sundries was only opened from 9-5 and closed on Sunday. There is only 1 coffee shop where a small snickers candy bar cost $8! You can shop in the jewelry shop for extended hours.

Check out time is 11 am. I asked for an extension until noon and was told no. We went to the pool in the morning, went back to our room and changed and checked out at 10:55 am, planning to go to Sunday brunch at the expensive buffet to help pass the time until we needed to leave for the airport. Our surprise was to find that the restaurant closed at 11 am! One would think they would want the revenue for those in the same situation as we were, but no, there was nowhere except for the expensive coffee shop with a very limited menu to get something to eat.

I fully understand that staffing is hard to get, however in a place that costs as much as this one does, I suggest paying the staff more to get enough staff to work.

The reality of the situation is that Barbados is expensive and people keep going there, so there is no incentive to change. Shame on Hilton for calling this a premiere property when it is really rather dilapidated. They should have done a reno during covid!

This place is terrible value. You pay for $500+ a night for what is supposed to be a 4-star hotel experience. The reality is that there's never any beach chairs available, the restaurants are crowded, and the breakfast has the cheapest selection of foods imaginable. The rooms are humid, nothing stocked in the mini bar, and the hotel in general is in need of TLC. We had better sleep in a 2-star hotel at the gap than this resort.
And on top of that the staff is generally very unfriendly which is just the opposite experience from anywhere else in the island where people are friendly and welcoming.
Avoid!
