Great week at Kingsland Hilton, nice pools and good yoga class. Only thing is no restaurant for dinner and breakfast was a $23.00 buffet.
Absolutely love this resort. This is the second time that I visited here. Saw rays, turtles and monk seal in the lagoon. Room is spacious. Staff is always helpful. Lagoon grill has delicious poke and Kalbi plate. Although I have experienced some problem with the laundry facility this time, it’s operated by a third party vender, and the resort is willing to provide some alternative options to help. Special thanks to Niele and Eugene at the front desk. Housekeeping is always fast to bring anything we requested. Bell desk returned our rental car for us when we arrived around midnight. Even the merchandises are priced reasonably in the resort. Will always come back because the amazing service and people here.
One of the most relaxing places in Hawaii. Great place to sit and whale watch from Nov-March, and enjoy beautiful sunsets daily. Be sure to check out Dolphin Quest or swim with the turtles in the hotel Lagoon.
I’m writing this only re the Hilton lagoon… This lagoon is mostly natural and is available for free to any people staying at Hilton properties. Am writing this while on the beach looking at a rare Hawaiian Monk seal which has crawled up on the sand 10m away. We swam with wild sea turtles in the lagoon earlier today. Fair selection of tropical fish in the lagoon too. Kudos to Hilton for taking wonderful care of this special place. The Hawaiian state authorities have been called re this seal and Hilton has erected barriers to ensure any slack jawed yokels keep their distance.
Again - 6 stars (out of 5) to Hilton for caring so much!
We originally stayed here back in 2016 for a few nights. Everything was great until I got food poisoning which is the worst thing to deal with on a plane.
Recently we stayed here again assuming that experience was an outlier. Our son loves swimming and they have great pools for the kids. Unfortunately, my wife and I both got food poisoning again. This time it cost us a wedding we were attending.
Never coming back. If they can’t figure out their food handling priorities. You shouldn’t go either.
The Resort itself is not what I would expect of Hilton due to being a bit outdated. We went to another hotel that we considered similar and it was so much more detailed inside and updated that it made it even more obvious. The room was clean. Shower head was strange. It kept falling off the holder. The Buffet was very good for breakfast, one of my favorite meals. KPC restaurant had a beautiful view. However, we made reservations far in advance asking to sit outside and were sat inside so we didn't get to see much of it. Food was good, not excellent. Waiter was very nice but seemed too busy for all his tables. The pool was my biggest complaint. If you didn't get down there by 7am to get a seat you could not find one easy. People put towels on 5-6 chairs and then went to breakfast. We witnessed open chairs 3 days in a row. One time for 5 hours while these people who were actually using the pool walked around looking for a seat to sit on. It was ridiculous. Attendants should be enforcing this. Side note because maybe some people like freezing pools. It was so cold I could not swim in it. It wasn't the type of cold you get in and you get used to. It was just cold the whole time. The Luau was way too expensive. The show was good and I appreciate the performers. They did a great job. The service was excellent. The food was terrible and I mean terrible. It was cold and honestly bland. The location was nice. You could walk to many restaurants. Hawaii is beautiful.
This is by far the worst resort to stay at. There are 7 umbrellas at the entire resort. If you want shade for your family you have to pay for it. The cabanas are mostly empty and unused but that doesn't matter, unless you play $100+ for the day. After you're already staying here. If you want to actually enjoy your resort go elsewhere.
Beautiful property. Stayed in Palace Tower. Very nice rooms. They need stairs though, because there was always a wait for one of the three elevators. Plenty of options to eat on property, but I wouldnt recommend the pizza at Nui. They have a Kona Brewing Company tap room, highly recommend the chocolate cake and a beer. Its a large resort that offers a train to get around, however, walking is faster. Theres also a boat, but we only saw it a few times during our trip. The lagoon is pretty cool, they have a variety of sea life in it. My biggest complaint is the ONE hot tub they have on the entire property. Despite there being the largest pool on the entire big island, all the kids seem to want to be in the hot tub, rather than the pool. They need an adults only hot tub..or at least raise the temperature in one of the pools.
It’s like a Disney resort. Beautiful. What really ruins it is the fact that there isn’t any monorail service early on the morning. Yup. You have to drag your bags for about a half mile out more to get to the parting lot. Again Hilton, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The parking lot is a good distance from the main door.
Plan for this if you have an early morning flight. Also plan to get soaked from the sprinklers getting to your vehicle.
A Beautiful Property and Great Aloha Staff!
The rooms were about average; nothing great, nothing terrible.
The service was hit/miss. Valets were unpleasant.
The grounds were neat.
The trek to the rooms made the experience horrible. I've never had to walk so far to get to a room in my life (good luck if you forget something). Having kids to transport just makes it worse. The tram is laughable and slow. The boat transportation is a joke. I would generally not recommend staying here unless you are in the main building attached to check-in.
The doors are paper thin so you hear everyone walking by and rolling their luggage on the tile floor. Otherwise rooms would have gotten five stars. They're spacious (for a hotel room) and very clean.
We had requested a late check out when making our reservation then told it wasn't available once we got here.
The location is beautiful, though everything is very spread out. In pictures, the "lagoon" looked a lot bigger and like it had a lot more beach area than it has in reality, that was disappointing.
I'd stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Located on the picturesque island of Hawaii, Hilton Waikoloa Village is a destination that not only impresses with its stunning location and luxurious amenities, but also with unique features that set it apart from other resorts. Even as a child, I was fascinated by the hotel's cable cars and boats, which take guests to their rooms in an extraordinary way. This special way of getting around the resort gives your stay a touch of adventure and exclusivity that you won't quickly forget.
Wonderful experience. Beautiful O'hana family. I was treated like Royalty. Mahalo.
Pay e'rthang for this HELLUVA TIME
The resort property seems very nice from the outside until you check in. Don’t be fooled by the artwork, lagoons, trams and boats. Only half of the property is renovated.
Several couples booked at the same time, and only one of us got a renovated room, even though the prices were the same, or even more, depending on room type.
What’s even worse, there ia verbiage on the Waikoloa Village website talking about renovations and amazing rooms, but nothing saying that the non-renovated rooms are worse than a Hilton garden inn in downtown Detroit.
Our room wasn’t clean, has stains on the carpet, visible piles of dirt, and was overall in poor condition. Saying that these two rooms are night and day, would be an understatement of epic proportions. I would be embarrassed to manage a property that would sell such a difference in products without making it very clear to potential customers.
When we complained to the management, they of course gave us the run around and said the property is sold out and they couldn’t do anything for us. Worse yet, it was evening time and she told me that no one could come clean the room, and they really had no place to move us.
The manager on duty was so pathetic, she actually told me that I should have looked at the pictures on their website to better understand what the rooms were. Come on already, when I book an ocean front room, I expect it to be one of the best on property!!
Needless to say, our first night experience with this hotel was an epic fail. The customer service and management team were pathetic at best. The only reason I gave the location 5 stars, it’s Hawaii, and they cannot screw that up. That’s not in their control.
If you plan to stay, don’t!! Not until they are completely done with renovations. And even then, think twice about it, as the management team does not care about customers!!
Amazing resorts. Very clean restaurants, grounds, and rooms. Very friendly staff. It is located on the beach. However, be prepared to spend a lot of money for everything. Parking is $50-58 daily. The breakfast buffet is $55 per person. The average meal cost for a family of four is $175-220 in the various restaurants. If you care to drive a short 40 minutes to Kailua, you can enjoy many different restaurants for a lot less money. Plus, there are many enjoyable shopping options. Highly recommend for a once a year family vacation.
We received an email that offered us the opportunity to stay at this resort for five nights and six days for $800 if we would agree to listen to their timeshare spiel. Since we had never stayed at the Big Island, we took them up on the deal.
We stayed in the farthest tower, Ocean Tower, on the bottom floor facing the ocean near "Buddha Point." The room was nice, and it had a large (for a hotel room) refrigerator, microwave, dishes, utensils, etc. We were able to sit outside our room and see whales breaching, whales on their sides waving their flukes, and pods of whales blowing air. That was a lot of fun!
If a person has a rental car, there is only one lot that can be used. It costs $48 per night for self-parking and $55 per night for valet parking. The lot was 0.9 mile from our room.
There is a train that looks like a bullet train that moves between the three towers; however, it moves at a pace equivalent to someone walking.
The property is lovely and well-maintained. There is a lagoon/mini-bay on the property that is attached to the ocean. Snorkeling there I was able to see turtles, eels, and plenty of pretty fish. They also have dolphins "penned" there, and they have dolphin shows throughout the week.
There are a few restaurants on the property; we didn't eat there because they were pricey. A couple who had a room above ours said that they ate the breakfast buffet one morning, and the cost for the two of them was $129.
This is a nice property, but it is pretty pricey.
The resort is beautiful and in a perfect location! The highlight is the salt water lagoon that is connected to the ocean, so wildlife is consistently spotted. The rooms are a bit small for a family in an extended stay, and the food is overpriced as is expected at any resort. There is a plethora of things avaliable to do and it is a great way to spend a week.
I had two reservations, one of which I have cancelled several days before my stay. Their call center confirmed this cancellation, but they have charged me $400.00 cancellation fee anyway. Now, they pretend they have no information about me cancelling. The reception at the hotel didn't see second reservation when I was checking in, but when charges were made, suddenly everything is in the system. Except for my cancellation ofc.
Rooms are average motel rooms, all food is expensive and below average tasting. Parking $48/day. Room service is every ~4 days. ~20 min walk to the ocean. If you love animals (dolphins) don't go. They keep them in breathtakingly small pool.
If you want to see true Hawaii, avoid this place and get a cozy AirBnb for much less.
