Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista Vacations

The Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Lake Buena Vista, located off Apopka Vineland Road, offers a reliable property that provided a comfortable last-minute stay for my travel party after a long day at the theme parks. Despite arriving at midnight, it did take quite a minute to get checked in, and the front desk agent, while nice, didn't really help with the directions around the property you'd hope for. Our two-queen room was located in Building B. Upon arrival, all elevators were working, but as we left, the one Elevator in Building A was broken, and one of two elevators in Building B/C was broken.

This two queen room was a bit dated, but in comfortable shape for a shorter stay. It was a little bit dark, and there were no USB outlets, but beyond that, all fixtures appeared to be in working order. The beds were comfortable, and had an appropriate number of linens provided.

As for amenities, this hotel has a larger pool area, fitness center, arcade, grab-and-go shop, and an in-hotel Applebee's location, which advertised a cheap breakfast and meals.

It is worth noting that this hotel is undergoing some renovations- particularly in the corner near where Building A meets the lobby. Be advised if staying on a lower floor that you may hear some noises. However, it is nice to see this slightly-dated property getting updates.

For you have to pay for breakfast $18 for scrambled egg and bacon and cup sausages this is like breakfast buffet for that money.

Nice, clean property. Stayed for 5 nights and got woken up on two of them at like 7 or 8 am by a 'saw' and drilling noise due to construction near the pool area. Would've appreciated it if they had started work a bit later.

The room size is decent, the new beds are comfortable and there is a mini fridge and microwave in the room too. We loved all the Dove soaps and Dove lotion provided in the bathroom and close proximity to all the parks and many different restaurants nearby.
However, the office chair in the room seems like it could have been chewed by a dog and the style and decor in the room needs an upgrade. The AC is really loud. The one light switch in the bathroom turns on the noisy fan in the bathroom too. Our room looked rather empty and could have used some furniture like a couch. I really wished there was a water bottle refill dispenser at this hotel but there wasn't.
My kids lost a token in the arcade room and staff was nice to replace it with 4 tokens. The gym has everything you would want in a gym but it smelled like chlorine or some kind of cleaning agent. Overall, a decent stay.

I love this hotel

Try very hard to avoid this hotell. To start with, false advertising. When you search it is saying that hotel is located 1 mile away from Disney springs, so 1 mile is good you can walk to it, but no, can't walk there it will take you 40 min. Shuttle? But no only one at 6pm during the day, next one at 9pm. If you come to Disney springs, don't use this hotel. Oh yes and the manager will argue with you to say it is one mile, but not walking or driving, or flying will get you there in less than 30 min. "But it is one mile." 1 mile my as..., that is not the point, the point is to stay in convenient location.

The bus driver Larry was really the best part of the vacation, he drives the shuttle buses from the hotel to Disney World and the Universal Studios, he gets full points.
Unfortunately, our room didn't have the option to open the window, there was only air conditioning, so the air in the room wasn't that full.
During the room cleaning, which took place at different times of the day, towels were sometimes forgotten and the creamer for my coffee was not refilled (even though I left it open).

Staff was way too sassy for 4am.

Loved the location. The room was pretty small, not described in my reservation. What u receive had some room issues and they took forever to correct. They said they were short staff. Wasn't really a joyable stay. Stay out most of the stay. Every time had issues they had an excuse.

As I was getting ready to leave a great 5 star review. I received a new charge from the Hotel. I made the mistake to reserve through Expedia. And the charges have not stopped. And the Hotel is an accomplice of Expedia because they keep the information from you upon check in and check out. There was a hidden $30 “accommodation fee” besides the $30 resort fee advertised. And not once, from the 3-4 opportunities they had while we spoke and I asked them specifically about charges, they didn’t reveal it. The main motivation for this review was the young man that helped us with the luggage, AUSTIN. I hope this review helps him some how. Maybe they can make him Front Desk Manager so he can teach them hospitality.

We love this hotel, the beds are always comfortable and those sheets are so soft. Rooms are decent size with microwaves and fridges but could use an upgrade. Housekeeping is great. Their pool area is awesome although this time it seemed their pool heater was broken. We stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year because my kids love it and a big draw is the warm pool every time but this time it was SO cold. They have an Applebees where kids eat free and it’s always decent.

We had a so-so experience with the hotel. We made the reservation and we did not know that they charged a deposit + hotel taxes, the guy at the reception on the first day told us that after check out the deposit would be returned to the card. It's been a week and I haven't received it. The facilities are nice, the room was delivered to us clean, the second day we realized that the microwave was not working, some technicians from the hotel kindly came, checked it and decided to change it for another one. Every day they took away the dirty towels and left us new clean ones. The AppleBees restaurant for breakfast has good service from the staff, although it is not as varied, they serve the same thing almost every day. The location is excellent, many fast food outlets in front, next door there is a gas station with a local mini market, and in front there is a Disney souvenir store. The hotel has free transportation to the parks, it really worked for us. Unfortunately they did not notify us that check out is at 1:00 PM, if a girl from the staff does not notify us they almost charge us the penalty. They should clarify that when checking in. Most staff members speak Spanish.

Rooms are clean and presentable. The location is decent. Right in between the airport and the parks. The IHG timeshare staff definitely is on their A game with pitches, THE MOMENT you finish check in. Annoying. FYI take an UBER from airport to the hotel. It's $65-90 for a taxi.
