It is a very old hotel, from 1875 to be exact, but despite that it maintains a beautiful façade and is constantly undergoing maintenance inside, so you can see that there is concern.
The rooms are very good, they have everything you need to be comfortable.
The staff in general is very friendly and they help you with everything you need.
Breakfast is a buffet, and it is quite complete, there is also a pianist who plays every morning and it is beautiful to have breakfast with his music.
On the roof there is a bar that has excellent mojitos.
It is a very central hotel and there is always good music on its entrance terrace.

We have stayed here two nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well maintained, it is old but good. The location is very good, close to the capitol and central places to visit.

The only aspect to improve is the breakfast, you could tell that the food was old
The truth is that there is nothing to do with bad service, bad quality of food, everything tastes very bad, not recommended for anyone, do not throw your money in the trash for a service that they do not provide, the only thing that is useful is the sandwich
The coffee is well worth it, a very pleasant atmosphere.
DO NOT GO THERE WITHOUT HAVING CASH. They say they accept payments by card only, no cash .But the internet connection might be down for many hours. If this happens and you don't have the necessary cash they will call the police and threaten to escalate the matter to the immigration agency if you can't find cash. Their alternatives are to give them your passport until you come back to pay them. This happened to us for a mere 39,67€ 12 hours before our flight back and they threatened us that we would miss the flight if we didn't find a way to bring cash. The police arrested us for no reason, nobody in the police spoke A SINGLE WORD in english and we got out thanks to an employee of the hotel. That person was Roidy Javier. The whole hotel manager (who didn't speak english and looked at us with disgust)and another manager there only knew how to threaten us and call 4!!!! security guards for us not to escape.

This is the oldest hotel in Havana (built 1875) with great character. Ideal place to stay in the middle of Havana if you like live music with your breakfast, through the day, or night time roof top terrace drink/ meal. Great roof top views. Staff all very professional and friendly. Easy to get modern taxi or Classic American car from right outside. Bedrooms have more than adequate level ensuite facilities and hot water. Strongly recommend.
Beautiful hotel
At the hotel's ice cream parlor, Blue Diamond, they don't let you pay in national currency. You have to do it with a card, and they change the euro to 120 CUP, when in the informal market it is just over 300. A scam...

Can't fault this hotel.
It's rough and ready and has seen better days, but so arguably has Cuba!
It can't be compared to a 4 or 5 star hotel in Europe as it isn't in Europe, it's in a country where the hotels get first dibs on food and the Cuban people have rationing.
The staff are friendly and it's a proper, authentic, colonial hotel with classic cars and traditional musicians at the front.
In the evening we only went to the bar, which is really nice. We negotiated the price for our cocktails in advance, which was a good thing because we were then supposed to pay 26.45 euros for the bottle of water we ordered. That makes you feel pretty ripped off.
