It remains one of the most liked for its elegant style and its location and professionalism. Its patio or terrace is a balcony with panoramic views of Havana's Malecon.
To set the scene, this hotel is considered the best in Havana. We stayed there for 2 nights and can easily say that this establishment is one of the worst experiences on all fronts.
Check-in:
A cold and disinterested welcome will await you upon your arrival to announce that the room will not be given until 4 p.m., as a result, we waited 5 hours.
Bedroom:
Let's start with the only positive point, the room is large. Let's continue with everything that's wrong: the furniture is old, the humidity is everywhere, the hygiene leaves something to be desired, the sheets made us itchy, the bathroom is horrible with cockroaches.
The service:
With rare exceptions of friendly servers, the rest of the staff is extremely unpleasant and incompetent which leads to avoiding any interaction
The dinner show:
The advice to follow: don’t go there!!
The food is terrible and the show is very amateurish despite the visible efforts of the dancers who do their best

I love this hotel
We were only here to eat and stayed somewhere else. The atmosphere is very impressive. A hotel that was built in the 1930s by Mafiosi for Mafiosi. The hotel still gives off exactly this vibe. The price of the food is surprisingly fair. Especially if you pay in pesos. Live music on the piano also creates a pleasant atmosphere. Once the Godfather soundtrack was played, you felt like you were in the movie.
I recommend everyone who visits Havana to eat here at least once to enjoy the experience.

Nothing at all left except the name. My first 1 start rating, but this hotel definitely deserved it. Took a Senior suite (one ofter presidential) but had the worst service in all my life.
Pillows smells like mold, receptionist ego size as Texas.
I will not continue, cause Cuba was exceptionay amazing, will love it till the end of life.

It is a quiet hotel, the rooms are comfortable although they have a bit of a musty smell, which is why I give it 4 stars, it has an incredible view on the terrace, very friendly staff
You should only visit to look and learn about the history. Staying at this hotel supports the government completely. Stay elsewhere but enjoy the beautiful art deco construction and history.
The best option in Havana, the service and attention is unbeatable, thank you for being so good, it is a whole museum, so much history and its gardens, in the times of the great stars of Mexican and American cinema, excellent central location and the cannon shots very historical
The hotel is a monument in itself, the rooms are a little dated, but it is worth spending at least one night if you are on vacation in Havana, especially for the pleasure of recreating the stories that its walls treasure. The tour that is done in the mornings and that explains the history of this National Monument is highly recommended. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, a visit to the terrace is essential.
The hotel where they have treated me the worst in my life, where they have made me feel more embarrassed than ever, the security and reception staff are classist and homophobic, they even took me out of the elevator to identify me, for the 7 days I was there they did it to me 5 times, to make matters worse, they made me pay 50 euros for two towels that I put in the lovely maids' car to wash. I paid it because the taxi was waiting for me to go to the airport. If not, I'm not leaving until I count. all the hotel towels, a treatment towards my Cuban husband and my vegatorio person, without forgetting the 4 cockroaches that I killed in the room on alternate days, on the outside it will be beautiful but on the inside it is regrettable, the maintenance is conspicuous by its absence, the Lovely people at the breakfast buffet service. If you are looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, don't go to this hotel.

I tried going in with some local friends just to see and get a tour of the place. The security guards stopped us and said that the girls were dressed innapropriately. I had to give my sweater so the girls would cover up. If it was tourist women it would be fine. But since they were tourists we were harassed. As nice as this hotel is, i got turned off by the treatment i got. I will NEVER visit or stay at this place, unless you plan on getting harassed by the security guards. I like going to a place where i can feel comfortable and at ease but this was not a good experience. All eyes were on me and my friends. Youre better off getting an airbnb where you wont get harassed. No discrimination... disgusting.
