Our Opnion

The Iberostar Laguna Azul is a great resort situated within the resort strip of Cuba. The resort boasts a great array of a la carte and buffet options. The pool and beach area are also fantastic. You will never experience a shortage of lounge chairs. The Iberostar Laguna Azul is a great getaway for couples who are looking for a great place to lounge and relax. Many companies rate it 4 stars, but like most resorts in Cuba you probably should temper expectations and look at it along the lines of a 3 or 3.5 star.

We found some deficiencies in the room status service such as the bathroom system, TV without control of use, air conditioning without explanation or operation. Deficiencies in the food offered and other details such as the defective elevator service, as we are people with mobility limitations.
The important thing is that they attended to us and considerably improved the service and we returned satisfied.

Very good services, especially attention received by the lobby staff and waitress. Good restaurant service, I recommend improving dining facilities and maintenance of elevators as much as possible, fixing or changing sun loungers located on the beach

Good service, a la carte restaurants, very good experience, the buffet attendants are very friendly and charismatic, an unforgettable experience, the guys at the bars are very attentive,

This hotel has the best staff who treat you like family. Great service. Dania goes over and above to make sure your stay is fabulous. This is our second time to this resort and we will be back many more times.

Fantastic All-Inclusive Resort in Varadero, Cuba

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing all-inclusive resort in Varadero, Cuba, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The property is expansive, offering plenty of space to explore and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

One of the standout features of this resort is the 24-hour bar and snack bars, ensuring that guests are always well-fed and never thirsty. The variety and quality of food and drinks available are truly impressive, catering to every taste and preference.

The nightly activities, including dance performances, add a lively and entertaining touch to the evenings, ensuring that there is never a dull moment during your stay.

A highlight of my visit was dining at the Japanese restaurant on-site. The food was exceptional, and the ambiance added to the overall dining experience. It's definitely a must-visit during your stay.

Lastly, the white sand beach is truly top-notch, offering pristine sands and crystal-clear waters. It's the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.

Overall, this all-inclusive resort in Varadero, Cuba, offers everything you could possibly want for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Highly recommended!

I would not go back! Terrible service, begging for sheets and towels to be changed, we never had a hand towel available, cockroaches in the rooms, the attention of the employees, TERRIBLE!!!!!! One day they didn't change my towels, I went to ask for it 3 times, they took it after 3 hours, never a soda available, of any kind and the elevator doesn't work and is in terrible condition!! Do not choose this hotel

We stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul last weekend, we have to admit that it was a pleasant stay, beautiful hotel facilities and very good service from all the staff.

Excellent place to spend time with the family. I want to highlight the animation team who bring the place to life. Without a doubt the best of the hotel.

The entertainment was the best and the most attractive part of the vacation here in the Iberostar Laguna Azul. Compliments to the hard work of the dancers, entertainers and their manager for putting all this together.

This place is very run down.
I was put in the wrong section for what I paid for. They made it a hassle to change.
When I checked in, they did give me my wifi password, times that anything was happening (hard to find the info), etc. I had to go back and wait 30 minutes for them to print out my info.
None of the elevators worked and my room was missing light bulbs.
The bathtub was difficult to get in and out of, the shampoo dispenser was at the sink and the hand soap in the shower (mounted to the wall). They only gave you bath towels…no hand towels or face cloths. You have to pay a $15US deposit for the beach towel (each). Watch out for the one towel guy as he is willing to put on his own show for you.
It says it has a mini fridge but they don’t put anything in it. My balcony door would not lock so I shoved a chair into the track.
The largest pool didn’t have any water in it.
As the days went on, they were running out of more and more things. No pop, no mint for mojitos, no mix for pina colada or margaritas, no eggs…one day, they said no ice!
You have to search for the place to book your a la carte ….it is a single person in a back room and the wait can be forever.
The shows are 30 minutes and average. The singing was better than the dancing.
Many bars close at 4 and then you are waiting for a single person trying to make drinks for everyone (especially difficult since he has to keep saying “no” to everyone as they don’t have the needed ingredients).
The buffet food was horrible. Things were not labeled at all or incorrectly. I have a food allergy and more than once I found seafood in dishes that were labeled vegetarian or chicken.
I was a solo traveler. Getting service at times was very difficult and frustrating.
The relax section was quite nice. Would have been better with some more service.

The cleaning of the room is not impeccable, there are hairs behind the bathroom door. There is also a leak under the sink.

Everything is super good here, good attention, good service, everything is great, I don't have a bad opinion, I am Cuban and my partner is from Canada and we share the same opinion, I hope everything stays the same.

Personally, I like everything. The staff is friendly (please give them chocolates/money as a tip, they don’t have that much income, they try. They don’t eat pasta themselves, but they cook it, maybe not perfectly, but why judge people?) There are also 3 restaurants here that you can go to you can sign up (Italian, Japanese, romantic), the second photo is from the Japanese rest.
If only the towels and bed linen were changed more often... but as it is, I’m not complaining!

The hotel is very nice and cozy

The food and service are excellent

We were dizzy with the room. The latest in the check-in period.
They did not inform us properly about the towel deposit.
Room key didn't work and two trips to reception.
Towels were missing and the ones that are there are broken at the ends.
The next day the room was unmade at 3 in the afternoon.
Some very efficient workers and others passing by and saying congratulations when you commented on something.
After 4 days have passed. The pool that had the bar was under construction that was not completed on schedule. The beach was under construction with a crane and an excavator.
Repetitive food and lack of products. No coffee at breakfast.
The hammocks on the beach are amazing.
A disaster of a hotel. There were missing doors in the closets, the wall light in the shower did not exist. It is impossible for it to have 5 stars.
They gave us check-out a little later than the time and tried to get us to sign a document where we waived requesting any direct or indirect compensation from our travel agency. When I told him about it, they tried to justify themselves by saying that it was a hotel policy to justify to the government that they were giving something for free.

Had an absolutely fabulous time here once again- third times a charm! We were lucky enough to meet Cleopatra the first time we came and once again she was absolutely the best entertainment staff - please look her up when you are here next! My entire family loves her and will continue to come back and visit because of her 💕
