"Just returned from our trip on march 3rd and I would never go back to this hotel. My sister and I have been going to PVR for 17 years We have stayed at a lot of hotels and had stayed at las palmas in 2006. It was what we expected even though we had stayed at nicer places. Thought we would try it again, what a mistake!!!!!
First of all we had paid extra for an ocean view and had a view of a large palm tree, they were accomodating and changed rooms the next day which also was by the quiet pool instead of the noisy one with young children and college kids and loud music.
The day after that we informed them that the air conditioner was leaking even though we didn't use it, also water leaking from the light fixture in the ceiling from the shower above. They said they would send someone to fix it. How? They put a towel on the floor!!!!!
Speaking of towels, my dog has a better one than what we were given, you could almost see through it.
The food was very poor quality except for the breakfast, I guess you can't screw up eggs when they cook them in front of you.
Also there are not enough lounge chairs around the pool or umbrellas If you don't get up and claim one by 6.30 am you are out of luck.
Oh, and when they tell you that you are paying a deposit on the safe lock and you will get that back, its a lie. I tried to get mine back and they said no even though the room was so damp and the ceiling in the closet where the safe was was almost falling down with rot that my passport which was in the safe was almost curled in half from the moisture.
The only good thing was the location, but there are better hotels with the same location or closer to town. The only way that I would return to this hotel is if they bought me and all inclusive trip.

"We had a long night to get to our destination as the flight was delayed by 10 hours. When we arrived all the employees at Las Palmas were wonderful, checkin was quick. The room was very nice with 2 double beds. The food was very tasty and if you needed anything staff was very helpful." [...]

Rating: "Hotel was very comfortable, hotel grounds, pools and rooms extremely clean. Location, could not be any better with the ocean just footsteps away, staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Food, buffet with good selection. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you want the interact with the Mexican culture. Met several guests from Mexico and they reconfirmed the friendliness known in Puerto Vallarta." [...]
