Mandalay Bay Vacations

Las Vegas, United States

An outstanding, gleaming golden tower surrounded by palm trees and lush tropical gardens, Mandalay Bay is impressive even before entering and once inside it doesn't disappoint. Gaze upon the breathtaking 11 acre tropical water environment with its own Surf & Sand beach and lazy river ride. The grand service, cosmopolitan delights, wide array of excellent entertainment, and Shark Reef Aquarium fascinates tourists as Mandalay Bay is the ultimate blend of both entertainment and sophistication.

Location: On 60 acres at the south end of the Strip, next to the Luxor.

Our Opnion

Great atmosphere, great casino, and tons to see and do right in the hotel. There are lots of dining options, some are a little pricey, but the food is very good. The beach/pool area is the best in Vegas, although it can get a little crowded. It's a little out of the way, being on the south end of the Strip, but a tram to the Excalibur easily solves that problem. Magnificent pool area and a premier nightclub. One of the best hotels in Las Vegas and a definite recommendation.

We typically stay at Delano every time. It's a little on the back side of the strip, but the pool area is the best if you have a family. Cabanas and beds are a little overpriced, considering most people are already getting robbed by the casino, if your higher up on the players card, you should get money off. On another note, they should have people walking around and clearing off chairs that people haven't sat at for over an hour. If you want a seat, you better get there at 8 when they open ( then just leave and gamble/eat/site see and go back, as your chair's will still be there. )

My husband went for the Fortinet 2024 conference. I decided to tag along and spend time reading and swimming in the lazy river. Well, that went downhill immediately. The in room mini bar and mini fridge are ridiculously expensive. $24 for a single Fiji water! The 50ml mini size liquor is $20. Don't you even think about wanting to use the mini fridge for your own personal use, they will charge you $65. 2 K-cups with powdered cream and sugar on the mini bar for $16!!! Even if you want to use Instacart to purchase some food and snacks, like I mentioned, it cannot be refrigerated. The cheapest drinks we could find were the $3 20oz drinks from the vending machine near the ice machine. The closest CVS/Walgreens/Target are a mile walk away. If you don't want to walk, you can use a tram part of the way, but don't count on signage directing you where to go regardless of whether you walk or not. You WILL get lost trying to find your way around.

The cherry on top was finding out that tubes for their lazy river are not included. A thin, mass market produced piece of junk tube ordered in mass quantities from China will cost you a whopping $32!!!! I didn't even attempt to get in the lazy river once I found out the cost of the tube. Nor did I want to chance a skin infection in the murky looking hot tub.

I thought perhaps a massage would be lovely. Again, nope. I get it, it is Vegas and a casino. However, a 50 minute (yes 50, you don't even get the full hour) massage was $165 + 20% service fee + tip.

Not only will you pay incredibly high prices for in room drinks/food, you will literally be paying double for a Starbucks coffee. A Venti Ice shaken espresso was $13!! WHAT? Are you insane? That is quite literally double or more what you pay off the strip. Food inside the resort area or on the strip in general was mediocre, at best. The staff was the one saving grace in their restaurants. Service inside the restaurants was quite good. Ri Ra Irish Pub was our favorite. However, don't you dare walk up to a restaurant without a reservation. Even if 50% of the tables are empty, they will ask if you have a reservation and if you say no, you will be forced to make one for an hour or so later (if they even *have* slots left).

The smell. Bless, that smell. I spent the entire week with a migraine due to the sheer amount of highly perfumed fragrance pumped into the entire resort in an attempt to mask the extremely pervasive scent of cigarettes. The smell of pot was also a disgusting little treat both inside the casino and out on the strip.

For the price of everything, one would think they could at least treat patrons with some decent toilet paper. Nope, you get sand paper. If you do happen to make it through your entire stay, your south end will be begging for mercy.

The beds were decent, but the pillows were lacking. The terrible pillows definitely did not help my migraine.

The hotel, in general, was clean and looked decently well kept.

So much fun. I just turned 21 before I went to this hotel so it was an experience. There are multiple pools and a wave pool hence the name Mandalay Bay, a large casino, an indoor aquarium, and access to the Luxor, Excalibur, and New York-New York, among other features. The rooms were nice too, but the water does not taste good (although that’s the case for most Vegas/Nevada hotels). There are snacks and a refrigerator available in the room, but guests have to pay for them in advance, otherwise, they will be charged (a lot of money actually). I realized that the elevators are locked to only that person’s floor; a person cannot go to another floor they are not assigned to due to security reasons; and the floor numbers were changed after 31 due to a tragic historical event. Overall, this place is a good hotel to stay at for a few days for a quick getaway to Vegas. But don’t lose too much money!

Love Mandalay Bay! Classy and Clean!
Jackpots are numerous.
It's such a beautiful casino.
The pool/beach is AWESOME! It's worth a bookmark for sure. Enjoy!

Very nice hotel, right on the strip, there is a free tram going to Excalibur. Room is spacious and has nice views

My only issue was parking rates when I looked them up they stated 7.00 for the 1st 2 hours I was there for one hour and it cost me 18.00

All slots are hand payout, no tickets at all. Wait for attendant for pay so far is over 30 minutes. Once you put even a dollar in a machine, you have to wait for an attendant to cash out. Now that I look back on the situation, it was a pleasant stay.

Friends that stayed there said the rooms were good but when I went and had my car valeted it took an hour to have not 1 but 2 people bring a singular car up (nothing wrong with the car, new rental) and had to go to the help desk twice, about 1. Singular. Car. And the valet changed all the mirrors and seats, even ones they didn't need, I'm fine with moving the ones you need to see but all my stuff? No thank you. Overall beautiful building, but the service is not quality and service is where I draw my line.

I did the best gambling here. The event space is very nice too.

Had a two-night stay with my mgm rewards. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Restaurants were elevated. Air ventilation at MGM properties was some of the best I’ve experienced in Vegas.

This hotel is a breath of fresh air. It's a great feeling stepping into your room and just feeling the cleanliness, something that a lot of hotels in vegas lack. The amenities are great. The restaurant options are top tier. And the convention convenience is amazing. This is a more laid back casino for those of us who aren't looking for the craziness of what vegas nightlife really is.

If you booked via a third party, don't let the hotel con you into an "upgrade". They will tell you they will cancel the other charge and book the room under the new price. You'll get charged double and you won't get your money back.

Went to shark reef

Nice place I enjoy the pool parties in the summer

Clean atmosphere and great building. Generous in their slots. Not dishonest like other Casinos build with dishonest greed.

I work at Mandalay bay hotel and casino so when I'm there it's work related

Having visited this hotel on multiple occasions over the past few years, it is no longer possible to classify it as 5 stars.
Small maintenance details cause problems with:
- The air conditioning
- fluctuating hot water supply in the shower
- drainage of water from the sink
This was observed on several visits. So it's not just one place. For air conditioning, these are 3 different rooms.
In addition, I have never noticed the slightest renovation of the rooms whereas at the Bellagio, which is in the same group, there is almost a renovation every 3 or 4 years.

Taniesha (I hope I’m spelling that right) really made us feel welcome upon checking in. She was super professional - and made the experience here worth it!
Beautiful hotel as well!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Great place to watch football!!!

Overall I love staying here for work. The only issues I had were with the iron not working and they brought me a brand new one right up. And the shower water kept shifting from cold to hot. But again, I survived fine. Comfy bed, great water pressure in the shower and great places to eat.
