"In general the hotel was excellent, very clean, great maintenance & room service. The buffet was average not much choice but the Cuban restaurant, the Steak House and Mexican were excellent. Reception staff were not very helpful or knowledgeable. The Beach area was amazing and drinks were great." [...]

"My girlfriend and I spent a week there and had a great time. The lobby was awesome and the beach was nice, but the pool was cold and not landscaped nicely. All the food was good, and the steakhouse was incredible. We found the service at all the bars was slow, but it was our first trip to Cuba so perhaps that is par for the course. We took a day trip into Havana, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A half a day in Varadero town is more than enough, but we're glad we did it. All in all, I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a nice but casual place. We saw lots that were not as nice and a few that were nicer, but this was the right blend for us." "This was my very first all inclusive vacation, and I did not go with really great expectations, however, it was definitely a holiday I will not forget. There were six of us that went it is was the first for all of us.The hotel was great, the food was fabulous, the staff was remarkable. I have never met such wonderful people in my life, they were the most friendly and kindest people. Their service was great, absolutely magnificent. I have been told that the food in Cuba is not the greatest but I must say that even the buffet was great with a large variety of foods to choose from so there was something for everyone and I am really fussy when it comes to food and it's preparation. The a la cartes were wonderful will this 4 and 5 course meals which were absolutely delicious. It was truly an experience to remember and if you have the chance to go on the Jeep Safari, it is worth every cent ($71 peso each), a day filled with great adventures.
I would go back to this hotel tomorrow if I could. I am glad to have stayed at this hotel for my first experience because Melia Veradero definitely made it memorable for me and my daughter and I have also made life long friends with some of the staffs. My daughter did not want to leave and see loved the kids club and the nightly shows were great and very well done. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the smoking all around and that's because I am Canadian and I am used to the non smoking places but for them I think it's quite normal but it's a small price to pay for the experience we had." "We enjoyed our stay at the Melia. The rooms were very nice. The food was great, especially the a la carte restaurants. The workers in the hotel were so friendly and helpful. The beach was nice but short so people who like to walk the beach may want a hotel with a longer beach. Night life at the Melia was lacking, this may be a hotel for persons who do not want to party into the night. " [...]

"Above Average/Good - very clean and staff was extremely friendly. Like all hotels in Cuba, they need a freash coat of paint. Food was ok, but seemed excellent in comparison to other hotels.
