My family’s first visit today at Verdello.
Food and service was excellent.
Stay away. Restaurants never had wine in stock. Had to leave the restaurant to get wine. Reservations at restaurants mean nothing (i.e. 2 hr wait to be seated). No alcohol at the pool bar. Ran out of pizza and chicken tenders at the kid pool grill. Severe injury in the room without any concern from management in trying to make it better. Very disappointed.
"Warning to all families: Nickelodeon Punta Cana Resort is an absolute disaster! Imagine enduring days without hot water, there hot water boilers are always breaking down. And the food? Don't even bother – it's a culinary crime. And get this, they have the nerve to charge a small fortune for the privilege of dining on mediocrity. Customer service? Forget about it, unless they're trying to waste your time into buying Karisma vacation packages through a concierge rep that’s the last time you will hear from concierge or get any help from any of them afterwards as they make there money with paid packages and now see a nonpaying customers as a waste of time. The front desk staff are experts in deception, making honesty feel like a mythical creature. Spare yourself the agony and stay far away from this nightmare. Oh, and their 'Sunset Dinner on the Beach' is a scam! They served our kids burgers and fries that are at the buffet (which we already paid for with our stay!), then tried to pass off one measly steak skewer with three pieces of meat as a proper meal. Meanwhile, other tables were served promptly, leaving us feeling like second-class guests. To top it off, our main course arrived ice-cold and two hours late, and the lobster wasn’t cooked properly. We left the food and went to go eat at the buffet. Also for those that need consistent WiFi and or cellphone reception it’s all but nonexistent here. A REFUND WOULD BE THE ONLY REDEEMING PART OF THIS NIGHTMARE. We are NEVER returning to this resort! The Dominican Republic has plenty of other fantastic resorts – this isn't one of them!"
Space Walker has a really nice ambience and service was fast. At Nickelodeon punta Cana.
While we were able to have a relaxing vacation, it was not because of the Nikelodeon resorts but inspite of it. You can get a similar if not better overall experience at other resorts at the same or lower price point. For the price we just didn't think the Nikelodeon theme, characters etc added that much more value.
We do not recommend.
There were a lot of little negative things that took away from the experience (not an exhaustive list below):
- No hot water in the room for majority of our stay
- extremely intrusive marketing and selling practices; for some of the "free offerings" they were insistent on getting a lot of personal information: marital status, where we workes, what were our professional titles, what type of credit cards we had. Dude, I am on vacation!!!
- No permanent food place close to the pool and beach. Sometimes they would setup a grill.
- Power went out for 1 afternoon. No running water amd toilets wont flush. Thankfully it was temporary.
- Staff at Fresco grill was uncoperative when we wanted to take food away. Why make it so hard?
- One day they shut down the whole buffet! I have never seen that ever at a resort. Okay fine, but at least open all the restaurant open then. Nope. Only two restaurants open to feed the entire resort. Are you kidding me?
- Difficult to impossoble to get water bottles at any bar. Only from housekeeping or when we request for minibar to be stocked.
Some positives:
- Staff at the buffet was pleasant
- Beach was nice abd clean
- Arcade was fun for the little ones
Spacewalker is the best restaurant on the Nickelodeon Punta Cana resort. The waiter Galatico was phenomenal. Amazing experience for my son and I. Will be back!
Here we have been at the Resort since Saturday, we are going to do it for a week. Everything is super and above all THANKS TO NERISSA!!!! We truly enjoyed our visit to this resort. Everyone Who has worked here has been very polite, friendly, and very helpful-especially Rosenny with Team Nick. We visited the waterpark on two separate occasions, did several pools and also the beach.
Although there are several different locations to eat, unfortunately, I have to say the food has not been as good as I expected it to be. I guess when I think of inclusive resort, paying the rates we paid, I want a better type of food.
My children thoroughly enjoyed it, and we signed up to be members as well. So we will definitely be back!
