I stayed here for two weeks while the building was undergoing reconstruction, so I can only speak from the experience I had during this time. The staff was very friendly, location was great, but the room was underwhelming.

For the price point of $180usd a night one should expect a little more. The room is very dated, water stains on the curtains, scuff marks all over the walls, temperature control is a knob with 'High, Medium and Low', you are unable to set your own room temp and just at the mercy of the knob (low is still freezing). The tv is also relatively tiny (20"?)
I booked a room that clearly states 'balcony' and no balcony in sight. This particular room is similar to roadside motels. Thin fleece type blanket shoved between two sheets also. There is little redeeming about this room. Mattress is comfortable and seems the housekeepers have done as good as job as possible

The positives of the hotel are
1. Location is great
2. Pool area is decent size and a lot of chairs although they look uncomfortable
3. Gym is pretty good and much better than expected- smyth machine, treadmill, free weights, kettlebells, stability balls, punching bag, ropes, cable machine. You can tell some thought was put into the gym.
4. I found

Am I impressed with the hotel? No. Would i be inclined to see their renovated rooms, maybe.

Will never sleep there again. Got charged twice at check in cause the front desk clerk made some mistake. Then called to let us know that she had made the mistake and corrected it. Then got charge twice for a deposit holding fee. That’s was taken out upon checking in. Went to settle it with the manager, who told us she can’t do anything until she finds out what happened from the desk clerk that checked us in. Didn’t wanna stay any longer with the lingering thought of them taking out more money.

Sadly for my 1st time in Hawaii I'm very disappointed in my stay. Me and my daughter are staying a week and this has been anything but relaxing. 1st room move because of loud construction and no rest at all then my new room had neighbors blaring music all hours,l and they don't seem to care, no vending machines, no laundrey services, no breakfast and we had to go down stairs to get any door dash orders we placed. Rooms are dated and nothing special. For the $1400 we spent id have expected something a little better. We will not be back.

Where do i start? this is the worst hotel experience i have ever had in my life:

1-Construction is in progress while having their guests stay in the hotel, under the guise of renovation. you should shutdown the hotel while that is ongoing. you don't have the right to annoy the guests during their stay (We were told that it is from 8am to 5PM. imagine being on your honeymoon and having to deal with all of that).

2-We booked our stay through expedia and already paid for everything. just to be hit with "resort fee" to a total of $500+ for the entire stay. we never agreed to anything like that and we were not told that we have to pay anything extra from the hotel on our first day nor on expedia's payment page.

3-They slipped a notice under the door twice about either cutting the hot water or cutting the water completely.
First of all, that's not how you notify the residents. secondly, why is this happening in the first place.

4-The room is extremely small.

5-No water bottles given in the room.

6-Constant noise in the street, people revving their car/bike engines constantly or drag racing. Why isn't the hotel coordinating with the local PD to prevent this? this is supposed to be a tourist attraction, not a downtown area.

7-To my surprise, Japanese tourists have been extremely disruptive. especially teenagers. they are partying in the pool as if it's some kind of a dance club between 7 PM and 10 PM during our stay.

8-You can constantly hear the emergency services sirens in the adjacent street.

9-Construction in the next door places makes it impossible to have a peaceful time in the pool area.

10-People constantly get into the pool or jacuzi unsanitary and you can see their skin break onto the surface. One of the teenagers in the jacuzi peed himself while sitting with us.

11-People are constantly letting stuff fly off of their balconies facing the pool fall down. be ready for a game of wack-a-mole on your head. we had a soda can, water bottle, and other items, fall next to us.

12-Some of the front desk employees are rude and unphased to our problems.

13-No shower body gel, you have to use the bar of soap they are providing you.

14-The bathroom sink is so small, that you have to get close to it so you don't spalsh water outside of it. Have never ever seen something like this before. whoever the interior designer is, needs to get fired.

15- one of the elevators, had wooden walls. (Way to care about our safety).

-The only good thing about this hotel is how helpful the pool employee was. very kind and taking intiative to helping first timers in the pool area(handing towel, guiding us around, etc).

Unbeatable service and location. This is such a centrally located hotel and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay here phenomenal. We found some dirt on our bedding (to be fair I am paranoid and we thoroughly inspect any room we stay in, we have found far worse at 5 star resorts) and within 5 minutes of calling at midnight the staff quickly came in and did a full bed change (mattress protector, everything). The rooms are definitely a little dated but that is transparent in the photos and nothing you wouldn’t expect from booking, and they are working hard to update the hotel which I think will end up amazing. Construction was a little loud from 9-5 but they are also transparent of that and you realistically shouldn’t really be in your room much between that time though it is something to consider. Top notch service and amazing location I would absolutely stay here again.

Really wanted to like my stay here. For one, the location is perfect in proximity to the beach and shops. The room was spacious; however, the room itself was really dated.
Where they lost me was the lack of communication regarding their renovations. Upon booking, I was sold on the ability to eat and wash my clothes on site. The laundromat closed shortly before our arrival. Their breakfast restaurant, Hawaiian Aroma Coffee, was there one day and gone the next. The hotel staff made no mention that renovations would be happening 2 days after we checked in. The construction was loud and intrusive enough that it forced us to start our day sooner than planned. To add further insult to injury, the hotel cut off their water supply (with only 24-hours notice) due to the construction from 8am-12:30pm. No mention of options to help with using the restroom or showering were provided. This really soured our trip and caused stress where there shouldn’t have been.

Upon arrival, the room we were clean buti did find something that was under th we table and left by a prior guest. Rooms are very dated. The bed was actually comfortable and clean. There is a coffee pot and small refrigerator but no microwave. Nor is there any sort of table in tge room to have a snack. There is no coffee shop. There are no drinks allowed in the pool area. People still brought drinks and food. There is no pool bar or any quick refreshments in the hotel. You must walk across the street to the ABC store to get any refreshments. The park directly across the strret had some characters that made it feel unsafe to venture after dark. The pool area was recently renovated and is nice. I only caution anyone to be very careful, the tle issmooth and very slippery. The gym area is also nice. There are major renovations so be prepared for some inconveniences. Outside of that, the staff was exceptional- front desl, housekeeping and security.

What a bummer! Under renovation. No lobby. Breakfast restaurant closed down. Pool open but no microwaves, ice machines, or vending. Not helpful at all at resolving these inconveniences. A few renovated rooms but most still old style. Stay away for now. Try again in a year or two.

Super friendly check-in staff with poor attitude and guest service experience - nothing but a surly attitude here if that’s your thing…

The location is great, so you can walk anywhere in Waikiki. It's a bit old, but it's clean, so I think I'll have a good stay at a good price.
There's only one day left

DO NOT BOOK unless you are interested in waking up to the sounds of LOUD CONSTRUCTION starting at 8am sharp every day. Extremely loud construction throughout the rooms and pool area all day from 8am-5pm. Absolutely no consideration for guests trying to sleep-in on their vacation.

Used on tour at the end of 2023
It looks like it has been renovated so it doesn't look old at first glance, but I was concerned about the thinness of the walls, such as the elevator vibrating a lot, the arrival bell of the elevator that could be heard from far away, and the sound of laughter from the next room.
However, the beds are made and the water areas are cleaned perfectly, which more than makes up for the age of the building.
Behind the elevator on the lobby floor, next to the toilet entrance, there is a free water dispenser (bottle dispenser type found in airports), which you can use to fill your water bottle for walking or to boil water with the coffee maker in your room. . There seemed to be a microwave at the back of the lobby.
There is a security box with a PIN code in the room.

We have stayed here 2 times now and had an amazing experience both times. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially Denise who went out of her way to accommodate our needs. The location is great and the prices are very reasonable. I want to thank all the housekeeps for doing an amazing job with big smiles!

It seems like the quality has deteriorated compared to the past ~ The grilled meat is also the worst (´A`) Miriam I asked for it to be rare. . . It was burnt and the fillet was ruined. I won't go again~ It's good for people who like performance.

Soooooo good!!! My favorite is the "Haupia" (coconut filling)

One of our go-to accommodations when staying in Waikiki. It's a great location since it's away from the crowds with friendly, helpful staff, and offers better than most kamaaina rates.

We're staying on the 14th floor in a suite that supposed to be the most expensive rooms they have available. They have construction going on the 15th floor they start banging and drilling at 7am. You come to vacation to relax and sleep in. Not to be wakened up by drills and hammering.

clean rooms, nice staff, however cold showers, they could not get hot water too our room, so a week of cold showers, and do not eat in the cafe, 2 OJ's 2 coffee's, french toast, bacon and eggs on toast, $92 AUD
