A pleasant hotel located near the beach. The a la carte restaurants are amazing. However, there is opportunity for improvement with their buffet items. Nonetheless, the resort has plenty of food choices available. There will always be helpful and friendly staff to assist guests. Both daytime and nightly entertainment are available, making this resort great for both families and couples. The grounds are well-kept and clean. However, refrain from staying during the rainy season, as many have reported that the facilities leak during times of heavy rainfall.

Beware of the pocket glass door in some rooms between bathroom and main area in the Reserve section of the hotel! I hate to write this but I had a horrible experience at this hotel on the last night of our stay. Up until that night my experience had been amazing. We were so glad we had upgraded to the reserve side, the pool, staff, views, food, poolside beds, everything had been amazing. On the last night, after I showered, I went to exit the bathroom and started to slide the pocket glass door when the entire thing shattered and fell onto me. Despite being tempered glass, I still sustained cuts to my head, chest, neck, shoulder, legs and feet. I was thankful that one friend was with me at the time and we both honestly were shocked. There had been a leak just outside our room in the ceiling and I don't know if that contributed to the track or something coming off. From what I have read about these doors is if there was an installation issue and they come off the track they will shatter. I did have a medic respond properly who assisted in butterfly bandaging the cuts and cleaning me up. I did sign a form documenting my refusal to go to a hospital as it was recommended for me to get stitches. What I was shocked at was the lack of response by the hotel manager. He never came and spoke with me after, nor did anyone check in with me. It seemed as there was no concern over this happening to me; I would expect some kind of response when their malfunction injured an occupant. When we were leaving I was talking to hotel security who indicated they were not aware and requested all the details. The last night, after it happened, they moved us to another room but downgraded us to the non-reserve side without any refund for the difference. It was a very traumatic experience to have an entire glass door shatter and fall onto 5 foot petite body. Almost two weeks later I still have cuts healing all over where I was injured and no contact from the hotel. I have tried to call twice to get some kind of documentation of a report and each time am placed on hold where I sit for an extended period and no one ever comes back to the phone. I felt it necessary to write due to the hotel chains lack of response and most importantly to ensure people know this could happen to them and to request a different room if they have this glass pocket door. I can't imagine what that door would have done to a child or senior person.
Arrived at 10 am .met the rude receptionist that with attitude told me that the room will not be ready before 3 pm. I m coming in this hotel with my family for the past 3 years. You just lost my business. . Never again. All the other times I was able to check in at 12 and 1 pm .today the flight was early. It s extremely hot and no access to our belongings with a 3 year old plus the tiredness. The hotel is half full from what I see and there is no point to make people suffer waiting to go 3 pm .
We love the Meliá group hotels and resorts. We got married at the Paradisus Los Cabo’s. This resort is very nice. We stayed on the reserve side. We were able to book cabanas. No issues reserving dinners with our concierge. They even bring food and drinks down at the beach. Would definitely come again. It’s one of the largest resorts in Cancun with a ton of restaurants on site.
Bryan, Sandy, Amy - macrame and dream catcher crafts were great.
KIDSDOM was fantastic for the kids with so many activities inside and out. The staff were super friendly and playful. My kids never wanted to leave which is always a plus
Nice food. Ariel is awesome
My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at Paradisus. It's my second time at a Melia resort, and I'll keep choosing Melia. This was the best resort I've been to in Mexico: food, room, view, beach, staff, location, ambience—all exceptional.
We stayed in the Adults Reserve area, and our lagoon view room was modern and beautiful. Housekeeping was great, and the resort's location, layout, and beach were stunning. Minimal seaweed, plenty of chairs, and clean pools at perfectly warm temperatures. The quiet, calm atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for.
We loved that Reserve guests could reserve cabanas at no extra cost. The resort's common areas were clean and filled with tropical plants, creating a cool jungle vibe.
The food quality was surprising—never repetitive, with new items every meal. The restaurants were excellent, especially Sal, Blue Agave, and Cielo. The meats were always tender and juicy.
The staff were the best part—friendly, attentive, and hardworking. Special thanks to Alfredo, Martin, Richer, Alberto, Enrique, and Gerardo at Malva for their exceptional service. Veronica and Moises also left lasting impressions with their kindness and helpfulness.
Upgrading to Reserve is worth it for the perks and extra service. Galdino, our concierge, was attentive and helpful. Raul, the bellboy, made our departure memorable with his exceptional service.
Overall, Paradisus exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return. My full review is on TripAdvisor since Google has a character limit.
I have not left yet and I am already missing this Gem. Perfect for a relaxing couples or family holiday. The hotel is beautiful earthy, there are several restaurants but we loved the buffet ( best buffet food we ever had, restaurant like). Guillermo was at the buffet very kind and all the staff including Pedro , Alberto were extremely helpful. The guys at the expreso bar always kind and welcoming. My son had a great time . The Spa fabulous William and Itzel with the best massages of my life. I will definitely be back with the family.
🩷Bryan from animation, he has very good music! I recommend coming here
The rooms are clean although u can tell that the resort is old.
The food is really not the best, here and there 1 decent dish but all food lacks proper seasonings. Most of the food that should be cold is warm even dairy. Sushi is barely edible, do not! Food is really not good.
Now practical tips-carry ur own beach towels as they don’t wash but only dry theirs.
Carry ur own sunscreen, meds etc even if u have to pay for check in bag because it is ridiculously expensive to buy anything here. Sunscreen ranges from $15 outside of resort and $41+ inside of the resort.
Bring at least $150in 5’s and 1’s US $ for tipping as exchange rates are different.
Kidsdom was magical for my son. He liked going there everyday and enjoyed the activities very much. The staff was very caring, friendly and professional.
Bryan was very friendly , and kids enjoyed the virtual reality!. The food at Lemon Fish was really good, and the service was excellent .
Uriel helped lead the handmade key chain activity. It was a lot of fun. He was very helpful and explain a lot about the hotel, activities and restaurants. He was a pleasure to spend time with.
Very nice for my experience, the buffet is very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner, varied foods of good quality, but the restaurant options are not very good for my taste, the menu is very small, so much so that I preferred to always eat at the buffet for the 3 days.
Divinely beautiful - and one of our best experiences was the KIDSDOM, my girl and my little sister fell in love with that place, the treatment, the vibe and the varieties of activities, I recommend it 100%, my girls felt safe and happy, especially thanks to ivy, ruby and Monse they were very nice with my girls
I'd give this place 3 stars.
PROS:
- Close to the airport
- Staff except for 1 or 2 are very polite and helpful
- Even sales staff at the sales office were polite, helpful and not pushy
- Architecture is absolutely beautiful
- Facilities are mostly clean
CONS:
- The food quality needs improvement. Not that it's bad but it is nowhere close to most 5 star hotels I've tried in Cancun
- Somehow everyday, they ran out of things. Lemon, Avocado, Salt (I'm not kidding), Burger and more
- Rooms are quite old and need update. There are some rooms that are not even at a quality of a 2 star level. It was so bad that we walked in and right back out. The staff were kind enough to change the room but that kind of room should not be given to anybody.
- On a rainy day, there's absolutely nothing to be done at the hotel and they don't seem to plan ahead to keep those days full of activities. They only had 3 or 4 activities all day.
- Anything you purchase at the hotel stores are easily between 5-10 times more expensive than what you can buy in Canada or the U.S.
Overall I would say this hotel would not have a 5 star reputation was it not for an absolutely incredible staff.
Having spent 2 weeks at the hotel we have had a fairly complete experience and I wanted to comment on many things to help both clients/readers and the hotel itself.
To begin with, the first thing I have to say is that they should copy the style of other Paradisus more. For example, we have been to the Paradisus in Puntacana and at night there are “Shows” or some entertainment every night until 12. In this hotel it was noticed that they operate different hours, for example from 10 or 11 they begin to close. the restaurants but that didn't worry us, there were very good artists who came to sing in the bar on the first floor at night. But not every night was like that compared to the other hotel.
My second comment is directed at the first come, first served system, it wasn't bad as you don't have to wait too long for a table when you are put on the waiting list, unless the hotel is very full as was the case last night. It would be good if, due to these occasions, they tried to try a reservation system like in Puntacana where your concierge reserves the restaurant and the time you like, thus avoiding any unpleasantness or complaints regarding this issue.
Then I have a series of quick comments that I highlight, such as that they do not have enough lounge chairs on the beach and that these do not have the function of fully stretching out. On the other hand, we had to water our plants on the balcony many times, we have already noticed that they were not watered and the cleaning people came by every day. Congratulations should be made to those at the bar who always refilled our snacks but they should pay more attention to carrying water, we have gone days without them refilling our water which is the most important thing before chips and things like that. During those days we asked for bottles of water from the guys serving on the beach, greetings to all of them, they are geniuses.
Now, the rooms are a little old since the hotel is old but we didn't find them a problem, it's more that we liked that it has a bidet which we normally didn't find in the Paradisus we went to. We had rooms 2207 and 2208, these same ones connected. I have read many comments complaining about the oldness of the rooms but I don't think a modernization is necessary for now they could simply add free bathroom accessories or put shelves in the closets to store more clothes and compensate for it that way.
Finally I am going to talk about the most touched on topic in the comments section that I have read and they are the restaurants, the best for us were Capella (Italian) and Lemmon Fish (sushi and ceviche), the mosos at the latter served us very well, Greetings to Jorge and Daniel who were very kind and also to Osvaldo from Cielo Lindo. Thank God we didn't see cockroaches nor did we get sick and they didn't treat us badly either, the food at Malba was excellent, the Poke was a very good idea.
Our only comment on the subject is that many times the mosos forgot what we asked for or took a long time to come to serve us, especially in Malba where we had to get up and go ask for a moso to serve us, which many of them did not even know. They didn't even look at the tables to check if anyone needed a drink. For me, they would have to set up a sector for people to go and help themselves to drink, since apparently the mosos system often fails and takes too long, especially when there are a lot of people. We only ask that you be more attentive when people just come in to eat to serve them drinks and make more eye contact with the tables to ask if they want to be served more drink or something else.
Despite these comments, it is worth noting that we had a great time, the beach is beautiful, the hotel is huge and unique but it was necessary to comment on these things because before coming to the hotel I was very scared by the comments section so I felt like to do my own review to help. Thank you very much for reading and to the hotel for the vacation.
Hello! The best thing about the hotel is the Kidsdom, my girls enjoyed it very much! Rubi and the rest of the girls are very loving. Every day they offer different activities and workshops!! They spend the whole day entertaining with their friends!!! They were delighted with the crafts and art workshops!! Highly recommended!!
We had water leaking problem floor .
Katrina & salvador are the bar tenders to know, if you ever go to kanna night. They where the highlight of 2 of the 4 nights I stayed at the resort.
Karina took amazing care of us! It was my cousins birthday and she went all out…I love love love this resort and will def be back. Highly recommend!
