Our Opnion

Paradisus Los Cabos is one of the best family resorts in the Cabo area. It has a great swimmable beach area, which is rare in the Cabo corridor. Excellent food, beautiful grounds, and a very attentive staff round out this great all inclusive resort. Recommended for families, couples, and golfers. Singles might prefer to be closer to Cabos San Lucas.

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel! The reserve upgrade is a must. Food was okay - last night we probably had one of the worst meals I’ve had in five years and took an hour and a half to recieve our order. Ice cream shop, ginger bar, and espresso bars are awesome. We loved hanging by the beach!

Major concerns - our room door was skidding on the floor so my wife couldn’t open or close our door the entire time. Lastly, the third party shop they have (we ran out of sunscreen) stole my credit card information and tried multiple times to use it.

Besides those few things I’d recommend for a short getaway.

It was a very important occasion for us, being the first vacation in years so we didn't allow inconveniences to bother us too much.cudoos to coffee place baristas, Sonia on lobby bar,all of the staff of the breakfast buffet and the sore restaurant. Karina & Adrian on aquamarina.suggestions:improve ASAP housekeeping system, it's notgoodto say the least.add buffet service in the evening at least and add more food options for lunch time if buffet not possible.

Rooms could use a bit of a makeover but nice and comfortable.
The staff are fantastic!
One thing I could do without is the scents they have in the rooms. Some people might like it, but I suffer from migraines and found it a it too much for me. I had it removed from my room, but other places like the gym have it and made it hard for me to stay in those areas.
Overall, it was a very nice place in a beautiful location.

Spent a week here for Spring Break. Good food in the restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, Asian, & Steak House). You must make reservations for dinner, so do that before arrival if you can - or make a couple days’ reservations immediately upon arrival so you don’t have to eat early/late. Staff/Service is excellent. Don’t bother paying extra for “swim up” rooms. I also wouldn’t pay extra for rooms in “The Reserve” b/c it’s nothing special. The main pool is great with plenty of seating even during peak spring break time. One of the only “swimable” beaches in Cabo area. On the “corridor” - a little closer to San Jose than San Lucas. Can walk a couple miles on the beach in either direction. Art Walk in San Jose on Thursday evenings is worth the trip and definitely hit Italian at Osteria 107!

Great hotel and the food was very good . the service was great !

I’ve stayed at many, many resorts and this resort (Paradisus Cabo) is by far the slowest I’ve ever been to!!

My wife and I stayed at the Paradisus Los Cabos in mid March 2024.

The resort is well kept with clean rooms and attentive staff. The grounds of the resort are nice and it has one of the few swimmable beaches in Cabo.

The downside of the hotel is that the main pool (the only one for non reserve guests) is freezing. Even with perfect weather the pool is nearly empty as for most guests it is simply too cold to go in. In 8 days in Cabo I went into the pool twice and never put my head below water. **If you want to use a pool, this hotel is not for you.**

That said, the reserve pools are heated but they do not mention that when telling you the benefits of the upgrade and I don't think any other hotel only heats the exclusive pools.

The food is decent, with food ranging from questionable (Celio) to extremely good (Asian Fusion).

I would say the highlight is the staff, who are helpful - except when asked about the unusable temperature of the pool.

TLDR; this place is a total scam, there are better, cheaper places for the money very close by.

Oh man was this place a nightmare. First thing’s first was the check-in process, not terrible but not great either. They took our bags from the shuttle for us(we had to arrange our own, a lot of the places nearby will do this for you or have their own) and then just let them sit there in the lobby, we had to physically grab them and take them to our room ourselves despite them asking for our names and room number. Red flag number 1

Second, was the food, the way this works here is that you have to reserve all the restaurants ahead of time on their app or with the front desk. This would’ve been nice to know when I checked in and pre paid for our stay prior to our arrival; when we checked in we had to ask what the dinner options were, and they told us reservations were closed and our only option that night would be the buffet.

Third, this place is not adults only, or definitely was not when we went. We saw children as soon as we arrived, assuming they had a day pass to the pool/amenities or were visiting/attending an event on site, we thought nothing of it. We continued to see children and asked the front desk “we thought this resort was adults only?” And then were told that only the reserve portion of the resort was adults only, and that the rest would be adults only in 2024. This would’ve been nice to know during the booking process.

Fourth; for an “all in-clusive” place, there were a lot of extra costs while we were here. All spa services were additional, of their “7 world class restaurants” 2 were not included and incredibly overpriced($125+ USD for a steak), alcohol beyond absolute bottom shelf booze was an additional charge.

Fifth; quality was just awful. Poor water pressure in the shower, our door broke on literally the first day, food was consistently awful, bottom shelf booze filled with sugar giving you headaches, we were here for new year’s and they didn’t even serve champagne, just a sparkling wine.

And finally, when we thought the nightmare was over, upon check out they tried to charge me the full balance of my stay, again. I had to escalate to the front desk manager as the employee checking me out was assuming I didn’t want to pay, when I was trying to show her I had paid before we even arrived. If I hadn’t insisted on that I would’ve been left disputing a 3k+ charge with Amex on my own.

Overall, skip this place. I don’t know if they were awesome long ago and changed ownership, or if they’ve just fallen from their once five star grace, frankly I don’t care, and you shouldn’t either. There are a lot of nicer, cheaper, and better places to stay for your money.

The reserve was over rated. Food was mostly mediocre, had a few good meals. They don't sanitize the reusable drink cups at the pool fyi bring your own drink cup.

For the expense, we were disappointed. Broken toilet seat, fridge didn't work, bathroom light didn't work, iron broken, our son's A/C broken, daughter's bathroom door wouldn't close. I mean, if this is a luxury resort, I'll stick with my timeshares! We were there for my son's wedding, so there was no choice. Rooms were like a hotel, except 2 double beds instead of a king or queen. Very nice amenities and food and drinks were great. Maintenance came promptly but why were there so many things broken?
On the other hand, the wedding was absolutely beautiful!

Wonderful resort but the staff tells you to tip too much for my taste. I didn't feel comfortable bringing cash to the pool and the service reflected that. I honestly feel like they put something in my food to make me sick.

We love Paradisus. This is our third time staying here.

Zahian is very good at her job, increase her salary now, urgently

It is an excellent place to vacation

The activities are very good, the dancing and pool games with Zahian are incredible

I never write reviews but based on my experience following my stay I felt obliged.

I’ve been trying for months to resolve a wrongful charge on my credit card with no response or action from Paradisus.

I had reserved a king size ocean view room, to find out after checking in that we received a room with 2 doubles. It took some discussion but the hotel staff reluctantly obliged to change my room.

Looking back though I wish I never moved rooms, since when I returned home, I found hundreds of $$ worth of charges on my credit card that didn’t belong to me. Instead, I came to find out, only after trying to dispute the charges with my credit card company, that they were from the guest who moved into my original room!

Even after sharing that these charges belonged to someone else, and were a result of the hotel’s own negligence, I still haven’t been able to get ahold of the hotel, yet alone a refund for the money charged.

I can’t believe the carelessness and lack of service that my card was still tied to another room after moving, occupied by someone else entirely and that they would allow that guest to pay with my credit card with no authorization.

Then the hoops and hurdles that I have to go through just to get ahold of someone from this hotel. All to get my money refunded on charges that were a result of the hotel staff's own negligence.

My stay was poor enough, but this service has just added to my sour experience. As of now, I’ve reached out numerous times and am still waiting to hear back from the Paradisus team.

Until this is resolved I can not in good conscience recommend this resort. There are so many great places to stay in Los Cabos, but this is not one of them.

There’s a lot of hit-or-miss reviews on here which gave me nerves ahead of my trip. Now that it’s over I’m happy to leave a 5 star review. Here’s everything worth sharing:

In my opinion, the reserve room was worth it for the concierge assistance and the lounge. The visit to the steak restaurant as well as access to the reserve pool and la palapa were enjoyed perks, but not as compelling of a reason to spend the extra money.

I saw reviews complaining about dinner reservations so I made sure to secure all dinner reservations with all the guests I’m traveling with ahead of my arrival. This was a little tricky due to some misunderstandings through email but once it was settled, it gave us so much peace of mind and ability to enjoy the trip.

We stayed in a swim up room. The most gorgeous room Ive ever stayed in. We were given a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate and strawberries as a surprise. For early Feb, the pools were very very cold. They say the pool is heated but I have major doubts about that. The swim up and reserve pools were warmer, not warm, but warmer. The main pool almost never had anyone in it tho because it was so cold.

The food was fantastic and the bartenders were fast and kind. There were some hiccups, like 3 or 4 times we placed drink orders from a cabana and simply never received them. But it was easy enough to walk to the bar ourselves. The reserve lounge had some of the best service though.

The beach was beautiful and a nice perk. The staff were very friendly. I think if you go into this trip with high expectations and no planning or patience, you’ll have a lot to be upset about. However if you plan ahead, have patience, and focus on enjoying yourself, you’ll have a great time like we did. We would go back!

My wife and I had a fantastic 5 days at this all inclusive, adults only resort! From the time we arrived, someone greeted us and made us restaurant reservations for our stay at the five different restaurants. They are Asian (good sushi and sashimi), Mexican (not tacos or burritos, but real authentic Mexican cuisine-I had the mole which was superb), Italian (ok, not my favorite, choices were not really authentic), international (some nice choices, food was good) and a lunch restaurant (order the guacamole and chips with or without lunch). We didn't eat at the steakhouse as that was an additional cost and we had booked a food tour in town (San Jose del Cabo Taco Tour Experience-very good, with a selection of foods from small, family owned restaurants; included sopa, chalupa, tacos and (on your own) interesting drinks. Tour guide Tania was amazing, highly recommended). The pool was wonderful, with plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas. Poolside service was very good, and since all inclusive, no money necessary except if you want to leave a tip. They also have a swimmable beach with plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas.
They also had nighttime entertainment such as bands and outdoor movie night. We also went to their tequila and mezcal tastings. The sommelier was very knowledgeable, although the tequila and mezcals offered were the ones offered by the resort and not special. The drinks in general were ok as you might expect in an all inclusive, not top shelf of course, but reasonable. Mostly tequila, beer, wine, but also some bourbons and mezcal.
If you wanted other things to do, there was a desk at the resort where you could arrange for fishing, sail boating, snorkeling, or yachting among others (not included).
But perfect weather, great service and food made this a memorable vacation!
A list of things that could be improved (as I would recommend anywhere):
1. Nighttime entertainment was limited. As I wrote, there were some small local bands, some tastings and movie night, but nothing really outstanding. Maybe the resort can consider adding some other things. Some friends went to Cabo and their resort had local fire dancers, acrobats, etc.
2. Offer some better quality spirits and more variety even if there is an additional cost.
3. According to the daily schedule there was supposed to be an exercise class outdoors with an instructor. No one showed up at the appointed time and the staff wasn't sure where they were. Maybe just a poorly written schedule?

All things considered, we will return for future vacations since this resort was, overall, fantastic!

This property is lovely and the staff are very nice-- but there were some elements of the service that were bizzarely bad. What is the deal with the cold pool? It was seriously so cold, no one could stay in it. And now I'm reading multiple reviews with the same complaint. Why does the hotel not fix this? It's a simple fix-- just heat the pool. We feel like the swim up room was a total waste of money because we couldn't swim up because the water was so uncomfortably cold. The hotel would not refund the difference for us to downgrade to a room that was not swim up.

When we asked the hotel to do something about the pool no one seemed to think there was anything wrong. It's almost like they don't know how pools are used. Yes on hot days you can have a cooler pool but this time of year-- for a recreational pool-- it should be 80-85 degrees depending on how many people are using it.

The ocean is lovely, but beware the sand is rough so walking on the beach barefoot is not very pleasant. But wearing watershoes is an easy fix for that.

As for the food, it was hit or miss even at the same restaurants. Some meals great. Others mediocre. Make all your dinner reservations before you even arrive if possible. The alcohol selection-- even in Reserve-- was not great. Mixed cocktails were also hit and miss.

All of the staff were very nice though. But given the main reasons to come to an all inclusive resort are to eat, drink, and swim I cannot recommend this property. I am also sending this review to Melia corporate, because in my experience this is not up to the standard of their brand.

For reference... please take a look at the photos for a guide to pool heating.

This place has a lot of potential but the service falls short. The pool was so cold it was unusable during our stay. We asked for the pool temperature to be raised many times, but for the entire 4 days we were there, the pool was too cold to use. This is really disturbing because there is not a lot to do at this resort. They offer almost no activities. So if you can't swim in the pool, what exactly are you supposed to do for 4 days? Also over four days we only had hot water once in our room. For the rest of the time warm was the best we got. Lastly, they seemed to be really understaffed. Long waits for things, slow meal service, slow bar service, unstaffed areas. I know sometimes that can't be helped, but if they don't have enough staff, they should limit reservations so they only take on the number of guests they can properly serve. These seem like very easy things to fix. I'm not sure why they don't.
