Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda
This warm, friendly Caribbean hotel is located on a 500-metre stretch of the white-sand Long Bay Beach, surrounded by 10 hectares of tropical greenery. Later, relax with a back rub at the massage clinic or a refreshing beverage at The Outhouse bar, the funky hillside hideaway and classic Caribbean hangout – the perfect spot for watching the sunset!
Location: On Long Bay Beach, 30 minutes from the airport and a 30 minute drive to town.

Just returned , from 12 nights staying at The Pineapple Beach Hotel.

Location;
Beach location, what I would only describe as Paradise , blue waters , white sand , the perfect setting .

Service ; Great service . All staff , so friendly, nothing too much trouble.
Coffee Shop was our regular spot , late afternoon , and late evening . Wallace , always greeted us with a smile and made the perfect coffee .
Accomadation ;
Rooms , we're dated , however very clean . Had a Colombian feeling to the resort.

Food;
Food was good in The Topaz bar , buffet , different choice most nights .
Pineapple Grill , was amazing , service fabulous .
Italian Restaurant , was also great , along with the service .
The later two , you do have to book in advance.
The Outhouse , was a hidden gem , Carribean Street Food, ribs were the best . Views were amazing.

Excursions ; Catamaran is a must, staff were very entertaining , Food and drink were included.
Shirley Heights , was a great night out , the view , the steel band with the sunset was an added bonus.

Entertainment ;
The entertainment, was enjoyable , from the singers , to the steel bands . Throughout the day you could join in the activities, which were varied , from beach games to music quizes.
Water sports on offer , from sailing , snorkeling to paddleboarding .
We visited the sister Hotel The Verandah , again, Food, beach and the water sports were just as good.

Staff;
I must not forget the staff , from Devina and Kevina at breakfast, always greeted us with a smile .
All the staff , around the resort, always acknowledged us .
The groundsman at 6.30am in the morning, were happy as they cleared the seaweed on the beach . The young drivers who drove us to and fro the resorts , were always accommodating.
Wallace , certainly made us smile with his daily cofffeolgys !!
Overall our holiday , was the best , one we won't forget. We certainly will be returning.

I

A joyful adventure or relaxing staycation. You choose! Friendly people, good food, great vibes.

I visited the last week of March for Spring Break and this was my first visit to Antigua. I’ll start by highlighting the positives which were the beach and the food/service at the Italian restaurant. The hostess was wonderful and had the most pleasant attitude, so did our servers. While the portions were smaller than I expected, everything tasted great! Now to the reasons I will NEVER step foot in this resort again. The room was outdated and nothing like the pictures online. I would have been better off staying at Motel 6. There were dead spiders in the shower and our toilet had scuff marks on it from where the paint chipped. The bed was hard and the room overall was just old. My parents stayed in the same building and the door latch was broken which is a huge safety concern. Someone came out to “fix” it, but they were still without a way to secure their room. Many of the staff members that work at the Topaz buffet have no sense of urgency. We waited well over ten minutes just to receive water and our drink orders each time. They also didn’t check on us to see if we needed anything. They have very little variety especially at breakfast. While the food was decent at the snack bar, a couple of the staff members had very poor attitudes. I ordered a pizza almost an hour before closing and the chef gave me a nasty look. There is no excuse for this behavior when all of the items at the snack bar are pre-made. All he had to do was add pepperoni and put it in the oven. He also had other food cooking for three or four other employees, but gave me a nasty look as a guest. My friend walked up five minutes later and he suggested that she just eat off my plate so he didn’t have to make the wings she ordered. We got so tired of the lackluster food and poor service, we ended up getting a day pass at The Verandah Resort across the street which exceeded our expectations. The only reason I’m rating this place two stars is because of the beach and the wonderful staff in the Italian restaurant, otherwise I would give this place no stars.

Great laid back all inclusive. Good food and great staff.

Pineapple Beach Club is an absolutely phenomenal all inclusive resort, let me explain why. The resort is adults only, but clearly tailored for those who want to relax and have a true 'beach' vacation. There is a private beach accessible only to those in the resort, with a small stretch of public beach that is walkable beyond it.

The resort has multiple food and drink options: The Outhouse (lunch only Caribbean BBQ, reservation required), pineapple grill (bistro, reservation required), orchids (steakhouse, reservation required), chef Pietro's (Italian, reservation required), Topaz (buffet, no reservation needed), Pelican (outdoor grill, no reservation needed), a coffee/pastry shop, and two walk-up bars. There are three pools, a larger deep one, a smaller shaded one, and an infinity pool by the beach. The rooms are in various locations around the resort, but from a guess I would say there aren't much more than 200 max. This allows the resort to not feel crowded at any point despite being on the slightly smaller side.

The resort really shines in their customer service. Every employee is extremely friendly and helpful, as one employee put it to me 'Tell us if you have a problem, because they're not your problems, they're ours'. Everyone was extremely kind and attentive. To keep guests entertained beyond the normal relaxation, there are about 10 activities a day that one can partake in ranging from jewelry making to aquarobics to coconut bowling. If you are there on a Friday night you'll be treated to a special mega buffet with outdoor grills, musicians, DJs, and dancing. If you are willing to spend a bit more you can talk to the hotel's approved vendors who can take you on excursions (HIGHLY) recommend Stingray City.

I've seen reviews with the resort running out of ice or having cleanliness issues but my stay and the stay of the other couples we met did not see any of this, and it was fantastic. Some protips if you're visiting for the first time:

1) Bring enough small bills for tipping and taxis, there is no ATM at the resort (although in an emergency they can give you a cash advance for a fee). Pretty much everyone takes USD.

2) if you want a taxi that takes credit cards, ask specifically for that in advance.

3) The Tranquility Spa at the resort costs extra but has great masseuses, definitely worth trying out.

4) Make reservations for food for the week the day you get there. Don't be too bummed if you have to eat at the buffet multiple times though, it's really good, and changes menus every day.

Pineapple Club met and exceeded all my expectations! We recommend this resort so highly! We transferred from another resort on Island and we were SO pleased with Pineapple, the difference in resorts was like night and day

We were greeted with broad smiles, cool towels, and ice water. An orientation is provided so you know where things are located but the resort is relatively small so we didn't attend. Our Premium Oceanview room was delightfully decorated, including bougainvillea blossoms in the bedroom and bathroom linens. Such a lovely touch! The rooms circle the beach so each one receives wonderful ocean breezes.

The beach! OMG, the beach! It is pure white, powdery sand, absolutely gorgeous, with a perfect breeze so you don't get too hot. There are Hobecat sailboats to take in a sail. A waiter will take drink orders from your lounge chair. One of the locals said it was one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

The food was good, plenty of choices. The Italian restaurant was good but it didn't feel Italian and there weren't any pasta dishes, which was odd. We splurged and reserved the private dining at the gazebo and that meal was divine.

Most everyone at the resort was hospitable, knowledgeable, and kind. We felt well cared for and welcome. Highly recommend the Calypso Cat excursion for snorkeling - lots of fun, great fish, sea turtles and manta rays.

We would definitely return to the Pineapple Club and highly recommend it!

This is just my opionion!😂 Beautiful Location and Resort, however, I really believe they cater to a certain age group and customer. This resort is definetly ur laid back let me read a book resort, which is fine, I just wish more ppl were honest in their reviews. This is a 60+Resort. Again I take no issue with that, just know what you are booking.
Also there is no Top Shelf Alcohol, and no bar service at the pool or lounge areas. Also we did notice most of the food staff seemed as of they did not want to be bothered, especially the crew at the snack bar😂🤷🏾‍♀️
I celebrated my 40th, so im not a young 21yr old complaining. I just know with these views and vibes, more can be done with entertainment. And lastly they run out of alot of things 🤷🏾‍♀️Not sure whats that about. Again, awesome views and location. Just know ur audience when u get here. We got bad looks for trying to play a small speaker at the pool, which by the way none have swim up bars or service🤷🏾‍♀️, but yea no music at pools by staff or anyone. Again everyone here came to read and relax, which is fine, but I wanted more Fun and Entertainment for my 40th. And had I know the target audience is 60+, I would have booked a diff place

This is a nice resort that has a beautiful beach. The property is small, and the guests seem more concentrated as a result. I went to the Outhouse for lunch. There you can get a good selection of island food. The place has nice activities during the day. Honestly, I think the sister property across the street isdd a better vacation choice. The island music played at the bar all day is quite excessive.

This was our 4th and final visit to the Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua.

I have noted 13 concerns from our stay at the resort, but will only mention the points that I feel let this 4th experience down.

Good...
1. Some of the waiting staff and chef's went above and beyond.
Big shout out to Natoya, Monetta and some chef's. Kevin is a really good manager, but is fighting a loosing battle with too many up hill struggles.
2. Customer services provide a good service.
Great Snack bar with a queuing system if it gets too busy.

Bad...

We knew about the additional $24 per night charge and a tourist tax which is $5 Per Person, Per night.
When we last visited the resort in November 2 years, I was told the additional charge was in case any member of staff contracted Covid-19 and the charge was effetely sick pay.
When I question it on this visit, I was told it was for WI-FI and additional clean.
If you book via British Airways then it clearly states that WI-FI is free in all public areas and in bedrooms (screen shot added to this review), even though the WI-Fi Isn't very reliable. .
When we arrived at the hotel we were told that they only clean your room every other day. So how can they justify $24 per night? I asked for our room to be cleaned daily. They missed out 5 days of room service for an 11 night stay!

Not enough staff, especially in the bar. Bar staff can't deal with more than 4-5 people at the bar, at once. Some of the bar staff are very rude, which was pointed out in someone else's review back in March 2023. This clearly hasn't been corrected! One member of bar staff was shouting at guests as we had to then argue who was next to be served, unless you slammed your glass on the bar and shouted what you wanted to drink...
On plenty of occasions, the bars ran out of produce, but when they ran out of ice, then you could only have tap beer or water!
you are not able to serve your self during meals for the hot food. This is clearly something that has carried on from Covid times. If they ran out of something, then they didn't replace it, which happened a lot and with the hotel only at 33% capacity.

Overflowing broken toilets that are left for long periods of time and not closed off (pictured), broken swimming pool lights (pictured), rubbish pilled up on the beach and not cleared up (pictured) and broken feet wash areas that have been broken for a long long time (pictured) and guttering missing from the roofs, which then leaks onto you after a quick rain shower when trying to relax on a sunbed around the pool area.

Note-
Do not use the on site car hire. Look into getting a hire car delivered from some place else. This was our 3rd time hiring a car. This time, the small RAV 4 had broken rear shocks, no spare wheel (which the agent couldn't find) and a problem with the steering!

No matter what the Pineapple say to me regards a reply to this review, I feel that after 4 times of visiting, pre, during and after Covid-19, I think I have a good idea of how the resort sits from a guest perspective.
Over priced, poorly maintained, some poor staff attitudes and a hotel charge that only they charge!

It was the week of March 1 to 8, 2024, the beach was full of algae, they passed by a little truck that barely picked it up, roughly algae on the beach all week, for the educated staff but no human warmth, we ran out of water at the hotel, the food not good, not even fruit, yogurt at lunch, the orange games not even natural, in summary for the enormous price we had to pay we are so disappointed….

My family just returned from a week at PBC and all six of us, loved every minute! The property is beautiful, the food is delicious and beach is so pretty. I disagree with the complaints about the food. If you want cheese pizza, fries and chicken nuggets, go somewhere else. If you want delicious grilled fish, vegetables, an array of meat and vegetarian options, PBC hits that mark. I also did not see any problem with the seaweed on the beach. Every single morning we saw hardworking people shovel up the seaweed which washed up overnight leaving the beach clear, powdery and beautiful. There is always going to be some seaweed around (it is the sea after all) and complaining about that is like complaining about there being too much salt in ocean water.
The beds were comfy, the air conditioner powerful, the Wi-Fi in the rooms strong, and the shower water hot. There is always security on the beach (even during the night) and we felt safe. The resort is pretty compact so it is never a long walk to get anywhere, but at the same time, it never felt busy (even though it is peak season) and there were always plenty of beach chairs available.
I had the most amazing massage at the spa by Marbee who clearly knew what she was doing.
My only complaints (and they are very small ones).....as a coffee lover....the coffee at the restaurant was not good, but that was ok because the coffee at the cute coffee shop was delicious. And because PBC does not use wrist bands to identify guests, there is no self-seating at meals. This results some line ups at the Topaz restaurant as guests waited to be seated. We never did try the a la carte restaurants because the line ups at the guest service desk every morning were too long. But that was not a problem as we loved the food at Topaz.

It was a great week at a great resort. I would not hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone.

We’ve been here for 4 1/2 days and still have 3 more but I couldn’t not write this review right now. From the food, to the service, to the entertainment and rooms everything has exceeded our expectations. Ann-Marie the recreations coordinator needs a raise for the amazing job she does. As do all of the hands on recreation staff and reservations/activity desk ladies. We did the hilltop couples dinner last night and I could not recommend enough. Our coconut chicken skewers and lamb were phenomenal. I’ll be thinking about the chicken skewers for a while and the view was breathtaking and romantic. Our room seems to be freshly renovated and far better than we pictured coming here. We walked in and our jaws dropped. We reserved a premium ocean view which has a lot of steps but totally worth it. We rented their smirking equipment (free) and the reefs were fun swimming around with the fish and we are hoping the water calms down in the next few days to be able to take a ride on one of their mini sailboats! 10/10 stay so far and we are already sad we are leaving in 3 days. A perk: We made so many new friends from all over the world and being a younger couple at a place which has a lot of older ones, not a single one made us feel unwelcome and are honestly able to party harder than we are in our 20’s lol

Our family had a fantastic stay at Pineapple Beach Club last year.

Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed with refreshing cold drinks, and the provided airport transportation made our arrival stress-free. The staff at check-in were helpful, friendly and accommodating.

The friendly staff didn't stop at check-in; they helped us with our bags to our rooms, making us feel right at home. Our favorite dining experience was at the Outhouse restaurant, which offered not only delicious food but also breathtaking views.

For early risers, the lovely coffee shop served amazing coffee and a variety of pastries to enjoy before breakfast. The beach was amazing and we enjoyed the floats in the water as well.

Overall, our experience at Pineapple Beach Club was nothing short of memorable. We can't wait to return!

Great location, service and food. Rooms a bit outdated and bed was terrible.

Went on a night over at the hotel, the room was lovely the bar service was great the staff service was ok. The one staff member who stood out and made us feel welcome her hospitality was a 10 , her name is Wendy . Thank you Wendy you made our stay wonderful with your wonderful energy . We will definitely be back.

This resort fell short of our expectations and unfortunately many of the short falls are preventable. “Some” of the staff just doesn’t care and it seems to be the leadership.
Our biggest complaint is our room. The door didn’t close properly, the bathroom window didn’t close (so we were constantly killing bugs) and the molding in the bathroom was all rotten. We tried (twice so far) to notify the front desk. Asked them to fix it or move us to another room. They said they would send maintenance. Never showed up. We asked to be moved. “Can’t because we are at capacity.
So here we are, my husband trying to fix the door himself. He even went to the other side of the building to try to close the bathroom window.
They keep running out of alcohol, limes and to top it off, the food it just ok at most restaurants.
We tried to come with low expectations (from other reviews) but reality fell even lower. For the price- look elsewhere .

Forgot to add- seaweed issue. I know that’s out of the resorts control but to just let it keep piling up on the beach? Many guests said there wasn’t any seaweed a few days ago. The high winds brought it in BUT it’s here now. We were told they just let it pile up then once the winds slow down they start cleaning it up. In the meantime, you have to walk over huge piles of seaweed.

We stayed 8 days at the end of January through the beginning of February. I’d love to give it a 4 star but the best I can do is an almost 3, because we did meet really nice people that will be lifetime friends, and there were parts that were wonderful. Unfortunately, the parts that weren’t wonderful overshadow the good.

I’ll start with the best because it’s a stunning location and the beach was one of the best we’ve experienced. These are the two areas that we look at first when booking a vacation. This property did not disappoint in these areas.

We purchased an Apple Vacation Mystery package where we were guaranteed a 4+star resort. How could we lose?
We did.

When we arrived we were given room that had furniture where people had spilled stuff on the tops and they were all bubbled up. There was barely enough room to maneuver around for the two of us. We had one plug outlet that worked in the room itself and that worked the lamp. We had to charge our devices in the bathroom.

We were given two bottle waters and one pouch of coffee. There was never any more beverages of any kind bought to our room in the entire 8 days we stayed there.

There was 1 chair to sit in, and there are two of us.

The nicest part about our room was the porch.

We were told to go to the desk near the buffet to book our hotel reservations. Well, we were given 1 reservation because there was a mix up according to the lady who was making our reservations, and the restaurants were overbooked. We went every day and wasted 15 min to a half hour daily to be told no.
My husband went to the manager and she was finally able to book a second reservation.
2 restaurant experiences in 8 days is not my idea of acceptable.

The buffet was out of a lot of things often.. it was hit or miss, sometimes it was good, many times it wasn’t.
Their fruit options were honey dew, cantaloupe, water melon and pineapple. We saw someone with a banana once, the same with passion fruit. Once.

The bars seemed to be out of vodka and rum a lot also. Rum is made on the island, I would think it should be in supply. The bar near our room closed at 5pm.

We didn’t get offered a drink once at the pool. I’m not against having to go to the bar to get your own drink, but the staff wasn’t as friendly as I think they could have been. In fact it was kind of a running joke between my husband and I as to who would go up and get our drinks.
Our rooms were cleaned every other day, and the towels were removed at that time. Even if they came back to gather our “spent” towels it would have been nice.
We booked excursions from the lady with Sun tours. We were told to meet at the water sports at 9am. We did, along with another couple. We waited a long time, and finally someone came up and asked who we were waiting for. We told them, then the guys says “what? They haven’t picked up at 9 am since covid hit”. He made the proper phone call and we didn’t go to see the stingrays through Sun Tours. Then that ended up being more time spent trying to get our refund for the excursion we couldn’t go in. Such a waste of time.

The coffee shop was outstanding. The grounds were kept nicely, and we enjoyed the grill and the Outhouse. That was the best food this resort offered.

Realistically, we’ve stayed at much nicer 3 star resorts and were offered something in our fridge to drink, whether it was water, a soda, or something. We also had rooms tidying up on a daily basis, and we had much better buffet experiences.
We paid a lot of money to stay at this resort and truthfully, we feel very cheated. We filled out a questionnaire upon leaving, I also wrote Pineapple beach Club and we’ve never been contacted. We also contacted Apple.
I couldn’t recommend this resort to friends, which is very sad as it has so much
So when you look at whatever the price charged, remember that you might only get two restaurant experiences, room service every other day, nothing in your room to drink, no pool service, limited access to the bars in the evening, and bars that run out of standard liquors.

We can't say enough about the Pineapple Beach Club and Antigua. You will not regret a decision to stay here. What a relaxing and laid back place to be. We spent 10 days at the resort. There were numerous daily activities on-site and nightly entertainment.  They have 6 pickleball courts and a well placed 17 61° coffee shop that has these great "Refresher" drinks to keep you hydrated while playing and throughout your day. The beach is amazing as are the sites in and around the resort.

The food at the buffet was super delicious for breakfast, lunch or supper. The view of the ocean and beach while you eat is so peaceful. We also went to the A La Carte restaurants for excellent meals. The Pineapple Grill was a great environment.  The daily catch was always sumptuous. We had some great jerk chicken, ribs  and fish, at the Outhouse. It is a small BBQ space up on the ridge with an amazing view and unique decor.

The smaller number of rooms at the resort means you don't feel squeezed in by crowds. You feel like you have the place to yourself. At the same time, you can gather with other visitors around the pools and bars. We met lots of wonderful people visiting from America and Britain.

The staff here are so friendly and laid back. They make you feel like you are part of their family. We want to mention and thank many and all the staff for their service and top notch work.
Thank you to:
Sanjay, Cheraine, Solange, Anne-Marie, Dequan, Neil, Clementina, Renee, Mochita, Vincent, Leon, Bashi, Kevin, Tieniqua, Delanie, Barrymore, Jo-Ann and many others who we have missed mentioning. From friendly waves, greetings, helpful info, to all out conversations, you made us feel so welcome here. Even the grounds crew and the maintenance guys and painters were friendly.
We also have to mention Omara Edwards. He was the driver on our private island tour. He was knowledgeable and a perfect guide.

We will definitely come back to this resort again. We've told family and friends all about it.
Thank you again for making our stay in Antigua so wonderful.
-Bernard and Susie

We came to the resort on a day pass, and are very glad that we did. The food was delicious, the pools were fantastic, and the beach was beautiful. We even did some snorkeling, and saw quite a number of fish and even a lobster! The turtles in the front reception area are super cute. Definitely definitely worth the visit. !

I can't say enough good things about this resort. The staff was amazing the trips all fun. The food at buffet was good. The resturants were very good. Just book your reservations as soon as you get there. Do all the things. Every night there was entertainment and the participation was really good. Swim with sting rays go snorkeling and enjoy each day because it all goes soooo fast♡
