The Riu Jalisco is a great hotel which is popular with couples, singles and families alike. The friendly entertainment staff keep the activities going throughout the day. Restaurants and service are very good and the beach and pools are excellent. With only one central elevator and the hotel being set back from the beach, this can mean a lot of walking. Most tour operators rate it 5 stars, but it's closer to a 4 star resort these days. The Riu Jalisco is a great option, just as long as you don't go in expecting a full 5 star resort. If you want to experience a true Riu 5 star, try the Riu Palace Pacifico.

Probably the worst resort I have ever been too. The costumer service is awful but not at bad as the food!

Nice hotel. Good service. Beautiful beach where you can walk for a long time on either side. We felt safe when we got out of the resort. I don't see anything negative, except that it's difficult to find a chair at the pool.
Solid 4 star hotel nothing more nothing less. Lobby and restaurants received a renovation. Rooms are older and getting tired. Little disappointing for a Riu hotel but nothing wrong with the place. Would try another hotel next time.
No complaints to speak of. Rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable. Food overall is quite good, and the drinks are generous. Staff is friendly and the grounds are beautiful and well manicured. It was our first trip to Mexico and we would recommend it!

We did not care for the room at all it was big & looked good , however we had so many mosquito bites, 2 cockroaches, in the bathroom on the ground floor. It was disgusting.
The place is beautiful, it has very spacious and comfortable spaces. The rooms have details that can be improved, the cleaning is very good, the garden employees are very friendly. The only drawback is that the waiters make a lot of distinction between local and foreign tourism. If you are not white and blue eyed. The waiters in restaurants don't even turn to look at you... but I highly recommend the RIU Hotels... I especially want to thank the lifeguard Angel who immediately treated an injury to my little daughter's right eyebrow. And he was reviewing the sicatrisacion during the 3 days I was there. Thank you so much

We have been coming here for around 15 years and always have a wonderful time! Management is excellent (Gracias Luis Montoya!) We are visiting our grandchildren who are staying there and it was first class everything.
Everything is good at the hotel, the staff is fast, attentive, friendly, they welcome you with a complimentary drink, online check-in saves you time, we were never able to check out online but it was super fast, the food was very delicious, of good quality in almost all the buffet and specialty restaurants but the Italian restaurant needs to be improved, the food lacked flavor and the desserts were delicious; The bad thing is the rooms, they are either very old or have many details to improve, the cell signal is non-existent and the wifi is good once connected but it takes you out ALL the time and you have to reconnect manually (both on iPhone and Android) and sometimes fails and you have to “forget” network and re-enter data.
Great beach location and overall value/experience. Housekeeping is fast and daily. Buffets offer good food and variety. 4 out of 5 because it was sometimes hard to get utensils/cups once buffets get busy; family room option has no door to the bathroom (and glass shower door); only all-in-one soap provided in rooms (not like nice resorts in US); no self-service laundry for those who like to wash clothes (only paid laundry service). Overall we’d stay here again.
They did not respect my reservation made on Booking, the girl at the reception did not make the slightest effort to try to solve us, sadly we had to leave and they cared little, fortunately Booking did solve us and we went to another much better hotel
Having mostly stayed at Secrets all inclusive in the past, we thought we would mix it up by staying at RIU. Definitely a more affordable option and while the facility is very nice, and service was fair to good, I doubt we will make it a priority to return. Overall it was an acceptable experience.
The front desk & bellhop service was good. Most of the staff were friendly, but a noticeable percentage were just doing their job and didn't seem super happy to be there.
There were plenty of chairs on the beach and there were very few vendors. Not like at some places where they literally line the shore.
Though we didn't participate in the pool exercise/dance, we did think highly of the instructors. They put some serious energy into their work! The bartenders at the swim up bar really seemed to enjoy their work as well. We came in from the beach to get a drink at a nearby bar and noticed how much fun they were having so we stayed for a while to watch them mix drinks and joke with the guests.
A perfect vacation spot
Everything was good till we both got food poisoning. I had mussels and my partner hamburger. It was one day terrible. Also, for an hour we didn’t have water. It was black.
Ok, First off the property and location are great, beautiful beach except for all the cigarette butts everywhere, my kids were basically digging in a ashtray. Food wasn’t bad, it was limited though and few options, and a few of us got food poisoning. The Discotech was sketchy, bad vibes our friend got drugged. The rooms are very outdated and broken, black mold in the showers, strong smell of sewage coming from the drains, also the drains don’t drain very fast and back up.
Wouldn’t stay here again. Waste of 4000$CDN for a week.
