Our Opnion

In addition to the gorgeous beach and turquoise water, Riu Palace Aruba also has a great location, only a few minutes drive from downtown, 15 minutes walk to the market, cafes & restaurants and in the proximity of the hopping Pier Bar. Great food with 4 a la carte restaurants and the Buffet is impressive too. Don't miss the chocolate martinis at Barry's.

We only spent a single day here while on a cruise. We found a single day pass for this resort by searching on the internet. It was slick!

We each had to pay $110 at the door for the day pass. This gave us access to beach chairs, towels, swimming pools, all of the food you could eat, all drinks included (yes, even alcohol). Access to the beautiful white sand beach, palapas, umbrellas, WiFi, restrooms... you name it, and it was included.

I would recommend this to anyone if they were looking for a great beach club experience. I understand that they sell out, but we booked a month and a half early. So, we were fine and never had to worry.

This is Palm Beach. The water was calm. It was so dang clear. Mildly cool in March, but nothing that was uncomfortable.

We would strongly recommend this resort.

RIU Aruba Palace: WARNING!! Dangerous conditions at property (Adults & Kids can be seriously hurt). I was a guest at the RIU Aruba Palace from 2/21/24 to 2/26/24 with a group for a wedding taking place at the RIU on 2/22/24. On the evening of February 21st, I was walking from the lobby to the pool/beach area. The lights are completely dim during evening hours in the lobby. On the upper section of stairs, I slipped (stairs were wet) and lost my balance which caused me to fall into a glass banister approximately 50 foot up. The glass was loose which cracked and fell below (almost landing on top of another guest). I had to grab a banner which was hanging to prevent myself from going over and falling to the first floor as well likely dying. I was dazed from hitting my head and hip. Friends came out and attended to me. I was very sore and walking with a limp. I ended up returning to my room for the evening. A brand-new phone in my pocket also completely scattered. Two days later on Friday February 23rd, I discovered my room was locked and my key was no longer working. I proceeded to the front desk which the attendant rudely grabbed my keycard from my hand and was told to step aside and wait for the manager. The manager (Maria) came out and pulled me over to a side desk. First, she apologized for the incident and asked how I was feeling. I said sore and my walk was affected, she apologized again. She then said the reason the keycards were shut off was the glass was expensive and if I wanted to get back into my room to access my belongings and finish my stay in the resort, I would need to pay them $1000 USD. My debit was charged and the room key re-activated. This is Fraud and Extortion! RIU refuses to provide an incident report. The staff and general manager, María Domínguez Sánchez were all very rude.
Ryan Campbell was your guest that this happened too. What is wrong with this foreign owned resort? Not Dutch owned company . Also Shared to the Arubian Parliament . Aruba tourism. What an absolute disgrace . This place is disgusting .

Nice all-inclusive resort for families! Good location with huge pool and good restaurants and amenities!

Really like a 3.75. Overall this is a really nice place. Very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Great space with plenty of sun or shade, whatever you prefer. One big drawback is you have to get up around 6am just to get one of the 100 or so palapas on the beach. For the pool it’s more like 8:30am. Great pool BTW. Very attentive servers to take drink orders was nice. The main buffet was really really great. Everything you can think of any very tasty. There’s about 5 other restaurants but a big drawback is it’s extremely difficult to get a table. Not reservations accepted, you have to literally line up when they open at 6pm and take whatever time you can get. Frankly, other than the fact that they serve you, I’m sure it’s the same cooks that make the buffet foot, so it’s not really something too different. They rooms are less than average, nothing special. A big issue is the AC seemed to be inadequate (we had 3 rooms and all were the same). Due to the humidity everything seemed damp and there’s a bit of a musty smell at times. THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK AND REASON THIS CANT BE 5 STARS IS BECAUSE SMOKING IS PERMITTED OUTSIDE. MANY PEOPLE JUST PUFFING AWAY WITH NO REGARD TO OTHERS. I did see a no smoking sign at the pool bar and there were 3 people smoking right next to it so they also don’t enforce it. Another big negative for me is they blast live music from 8-11pm that will keep light sleepers and early birds awake.

2nd time at this resort and enjoyed it!
We had a beautiful view and the room was clean. I’m a picky eater and I could always find something at the buffet.

We stopped here on a short stop on our way to Brazil. A very used hotel with a bunch of loud young Americans taking advantage of the 18 and over drinking options.

PROS:
- Food (Wide variety and great quality)
- Beach (clean and spacious)
- Service (prompt service)

CONS:
- Rooms (outdated)
- Entertainment
- Spa (do not recommend)

This was our second time in Aruba but now we went with our family and the stay at the Riu Palace was excellent. The food, the facilities, the view of the rooms, the beach, in general everything was ten but I want to highlight the kindness of all the hotel employees or every person we met at the hotel, I think that makes the difference with other hotels. I am going to name some that in my opinion stood out, such as Jeferson from the buffet, Héctor and Brandon from entertainment, Jack, Ana, Jeffrey and Freddy from the pool bar and Carlos in the Beach service. I do not want to fail to mention the cleaning and reception staff, always well prepared. The restaurants are very good. I highlight the extensive buffet and the Resto Sayuri. We didn't go to the Nautilus and Krystal restaurants because there were no veggie options since there are two members of my family who are vegetarians. Another thing to improve is the issue of the assignment of the palapas. A reservation system should be implemented to avoid conflicts between guests and beachgoers over this issue. It could be an app and make half-day reservations per palapa per guest. For example, one guest reserves from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. and another from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. It's just a suggestion. Another tip, I think it is not an option to go with small children, although there are some things for children, it seems to me that it is more for adults and teenagers. There are shows every night and on Fridays there are the Riu Party, only for adults and where guests of the two hotels, Palace and Antillas, go. You can also access the facilities of both hotels as adults. Inside the hotel you can book excursions and rent cars. We will surely return. We love Aruba. 100% recommendable

They have improved the TV service, now they continue with the air conditioners and the elevators that are already old, otherwise excellent

Very small menu for dinners the only good meal I had at night was at the steakhouse but the buffet was actually very good drinks were served in 6 oz plastic glasses so I recommend bringing you your own Tumblr you had to be on the beach by 4:30 in the morning to reserve a hut and beach chairs if your not there by 5 am your out of luck otherwise nice location and beautiful beaches

We were first timers to Aruba. We traveled in Jan. Of 2024.

This place was amazing. Everyone was above and beyond helpful, kind and customer oriented. Food was amazing. Outstanding place.

The facade of the hotel is 4 stars but the rooms are 3 stars. They definitely need a renovation along with the elevators. There are no modern smart TVs, regular internet and old air conditioners.
The service is good and the facilities around are good as is the food but without a doubt other hotels around can give more value for the price.

Excellent place, everything clean and tidy. Friendly people willing to help you spend pleasant days. The animation should be reinforced. In general Not very good. Otherwise it was worth going.

I didn't stay, I took a tour that left next to this hotel, but the hotel is beautiful, it has a very beautiful pool facing the sea.

The service is the worst, the people who give towels at the pool are abusive, the frontdesk ignores you, there was a child's tooth in the bathroom from Wednesday when we checked in and let us know until Saturday we checked out and they didn't remove it. High humidity in the room and the air conditioning does not work in optimal conditions. I don't recommend it for the price you pay.

We stayed at family’s side, have stayed at adults only side last year, thinking it would be quieter. Wrong. Ear splitting rap music begins at 10 AM, continues non stop until after 11 PM. “Drink yourself to oblivion “ atmosphere. Not enough seating on the beach, people jockeying for seats at 6:00 AM, several shouting conflicts on beach, “you moved my towels and took my seat!” Room clean. Food good, but I would never stay there again!
