Excellent hotel on the beach. Needs a bit of tlc though. Lovely people, excellent location close to bars, restaurants and nightlife. Can be a bit noisy from the bars nearby but mainly the rooster 🐓

This was the third time in 8 years me and my wife visited Rooms. This time we cancelled our room after one night and found another hotel.

The rooms are very outdated, smell pretty bad and have slim to none ventilation. Walls are thin and you will most likely be disturbed by the busy road outside or the Woodstock bar next door playing loud music until at least midnight. Our only morning before we left again we were woken up at 6am(!!) by a guy spraying bug poison in the garden with some kind of leaf blower style tool. It was LOUD.

The staff is friendly but not very enthusiastic. No one will help you with your bags to your room.

Breakfast is extremely boring and the bar on the beach is tiny and pretty much dead.

The location on the beach is perfect so if you want a decent backpackers style hotel, Rooms could be an alternative.

Stayed here for 2 weeks, and it was a wonderful stay. All the staff give fabulous service. Highlights literally on the beach, lunches are varied and reasonably priced. You get a big bed.

I had never stayed here before but got a Gustazo at a good price so I grabbed it for Reggae Marathon weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the property was lovely. I would definitely come back again!

We got there late but we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our rooms safely. We had a smooth check in, loved how spacious the room was, hot/cold water in the shower. Cable channels to our comfort, wifi and the bed was comfortable. The only thing I suggest is for certain rooms to have a small fridge for the guests. The receptionist was very warm and friendly, didn't catch her name but she recommended activities we could do outside of the hotel as well. The security was really welcoming too, he made sure we were safe and guided us effectively. Hats off to the jovial Velma in the restaurant, she was a good sport, fed us well and was very hospitable. Breakfast was 9/10. I'll definitely recommend my clients and visit again too.

Rooms is a lovely little hotel.
A little sprucing up of the rooms would be good.
The outdoor areas are very well maintained.
The employees are real treasures!
The location is perfect‼️
Direct beach location.

Great place to stay, rooms are spacious, garden is beautiful. A real treat, with swimming pool and amazing beach. Service is great and staff friendly.

My second home, the best place to go for R&R. 7 miles of white sand beach and crystal clear water. Divine. Best location near to entertainment and restaurants. If you want relaxation without the noise of all inclusive this is the place. Great WiFi and TV in the rooms

Hotel itself needs some updates, but it was a pleasant stay.

Before you come to Rooms, manage your expectations. Not all staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are outdated but that’s the price you pay for a budget experience. The food is not great and during the time we spent there is no lunch or dinner available. If you need assistance with luggage, there is no one to assist and we had to find that out the hard way. Fortunately there are other experiences available along 7 mile beach within walking distance.

When I first saw the reviews about the noise next door from Woodstock I was a bit hesitant but I booked anyway and to my surprise the noise was bearable and even at 9:30pm, it was no big deal to give the hotel about review about. It's Negril, on the hip strip their is going to be a little noise.

Mostly Pros and few cons:
1. Hotel needs some updating but still a good stay.
2. Had breakfast and it's was good food on the paid menu
3. Pool and beach combo is excellent
4. Hardly any hustlers on their beach
5. Clean environment.
6. Felt safe here.
7. Steps to my room were kinda steep
8. Waking distance to places and party
9. Friendly staff: jovial Darnette in front office, most pleasant housekeeper Tavesha, Donnette and Melody in dining room and Omar who I met when I was checking out.
Overall the staff there and real helpful.
10. Hot water was adequate
11. Air conditioner was well cold(+)
12. Buildings need to be repainted
13. Closet door in room had minor damages that the average person wouldn't notice but due to my line of work I normally have a more keen eye.
14. Nice balcony
15. Hate the fact that the rooms don't have a mini refrigerator and microwave (you have to pay extra per night to rent them, I'd prefer if the cost was just added to the room cost and you just pay once than when I reach this additional cost is being pushed on me.
16. Coffee maker and ingredients are in the room so that's good, I drink lots of coffee.
17. Go to the damn place and experience it, it's a safe place as far as I am concerned

Would return

I recommend almost everything...

A last minute decision to take a beach break after a hectic quarter yielded a pleasant surprise. As a first time visitor to Jamaica, let alone the westernmost beach town of Negril, I didn’t know what to expect, but am quite satisfied so far. Rooms on the Beach, Negril is comprised of around 6 guest 2-storey casitas with either garden or ocean view. The property shows its age and wear being situated right next to the ocean with salinity & humidity taking its normal toll on infrastructure. Very well located on Seven Mile beach with a nice smallish swimming pool, but one of the more expansive beach swimming areas right in front. The in-house Sugar Cane Cafe serves very good food, especially the local Jamaican specialties. The continental breakfast is simple but offers toasted bread of choice, boiled egg, butter, jam, fresh fruit & excellent coffee. Pretty substantial for a continental breakfast; the cafe also offers extras at a small upcharge & an ala carte menu of traditional Jamaican, as well as, American breakfasts. Prices at the cafe are very reasonable compared to many of the other restaurants lining the busy strip of beach & resorts in the area. The only cons I’ve noticed so far are:
1) the lack of enthusiasm & interest in some staff…
2) the presence of cigarette butts & beer cans/garbage all over the property & beach area…I don’t understand how guests feel entitled to leave their cigarette butts, finished drinks, plastic food containers & utensils on the beach & elsewhere on the property.
Respect your hosts & people who work harder than you ever will, North American tourists!
Overall, I would recommend this property.

Rooms would not have been our first choice, but we booked at the last minute and it was the only place with availability. I was pleasantly surprised! The room was big, service was pretty good, located on a lovely part of the beach set away from the main resorts which meant less hassle from beach vendors, nice little bar, great Wi-Fi and parking. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of other resorts, but has everything you need at affordable rates.

The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Water doesn't work good, no pressure, barely warm. Don't expect your room on the day you arrive. Continental breakfast will take a long time to get. Nice and central on 7 mile beach.

Amazing Experience. The location is convenient, food was delicious and reasonable, rooms were clean, staff members were friendly and welcoming. Overall great experience.

This hotel is definitely below average when you are in a mood for luxury vacation in Jamaica. The breakfast is one of the worst I have even had in bed and breakfast. Every day they will serve only bread butter and jam with boiled egg and few tropical fruits. That's it. I would say it's nothing more than 2 star hotel. There is no Wifi connection in the hotel. They will always tel you it's under repaid, but it is actually not part of stay. There is no fridge in the room and they will charge you $8 per day if want a fridge. The positives are only that it's on a good location with clean rooms. There are 2 pubs right outside the hotel. So get ready for sleepless nights if you wish to stay here, as the pubs play loud music till 4 am. It's definitely not suitable for family with kids as most of the check ins here are singles or couples who will be having ganja all day

I have never been to this place but I wanted too as it looks beautiful and is in a prime location. I was going to ignore the negative reviews and the shortfalls with the place and still wanted to go for my birthday. I called to ask some very simple questions and the person who picked up was so rude it was unbelievable. I even complimented the place and I was met with silence. I ask was September good for weather and I was told they don’t control the weather. If the customer service is bad on the phone imagine what it’s like on resort. I won’t be going and wasting my money. The person sounded like they didn’t want to be there and neither do I.

They don't have wifi, and it's a very serious fact since the shack next door also offers the service! They also don't change dollars into local currency. In short, the services are very scarce

Excellent food and service ,hoping they offer dinner on their menu ,lunch and breakfast only offered ,beautiful beach ,pool was clean, very friendly staff .Location was perfect ,live music was closeby :) Definitely will stay here again .Only issue I had was the wifi ,wasn't working till the last 2 days I was there .
