Friendly staff…great food! Could use help with the entertainment as it used to be better

Horrible customer service. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I really liked my hotel overall. The food was ok for real I ate well. I especially liked that the staff is caring, kind and the beach is private so we really have plenty of room for us and chairs always available. The heat was there. The cocktails were great and the shows were good. Not a lot of entertainment, but I would say it was more of a resort for people in the 40s, 50s, 60s. The club is however very small and there wasn't really much to do in the evening in fact, I would even say nothing to do... But otherwise, we really felt that we were in Jamaica the flags, the atmosphere, shows, food etc. For a 3 star hotel I was really impressed. It was clean and we always had good and fast service although, unfortunately I didn't tip much, I was still treated very well and quickly, thank you. 😊

Poor service from the staff dining room wouldn't acknowledge you unless you tipped they'll every night at 7.30-8 we went for dinner and had to go find our own cutlery, never got offered a drink would go to the bar ourselves, food has improved over the years..
Was there for 12 days never got a beach towel they had always run out, our cleaner took all our towels and never replaced them, when she did she bought one towel but took 6?

Our ac had leaked all over our floor in our room 4 hours later they still hadn't sent someone to look the maintenance man was brilliant, but then it took another 2 hours for the cleaner to come mop up the water...

Lovely hotel just very run down the staff arent happy, which then causes issues and the. Customers then complain..

Just the most beautiful place I have visited.

My experience was good I jus wanted more activities that suites my interest
And better tasting food

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, peaceful and clean.
Staff are really friendly and helpful.
I spent two weeks here and was able to totally unwind.
Do not miss the Saturday lunchtime shepherd's pie - it was absolutely banging 😋
I would definitely stay here again.

The location needs some work. There are two pools. The quiet one between the villas is nice. The main one carries the swing with entertainment team.

The hotel is nice but the rooms needs a fridge and a tea station. But everything else is good

Needs allot of work in delivering quality customer service. They say your experience at any resort beggins at the gate of the resort and at this gate we got there some time after 12 after traveling over 2 hours and we were told to go find somewhere and wait until 3pm, that's the time for check in and we were literally turned away, if we didn't already pay, we wouldn't come back. We know the rooms in most resorts are not ready until 3 but we have never been denied access to a resort because we came earlier than check in time. And to add insult to injury, the room wasn't even ready at 3pm and when we finally got the key, we had to wait a while for someone to take us to the room, this after asking the front end staff to just point us to the direction, we will find it ourselves. Loved the cottage concept.. The room however was great, some of the staff are friendly but the security team needs serious training. The facility needs allot of improvement as it relates to appearance... beach was good, food was great and surprisingly the liquor wasn't bad for a seemingly eco resort.

The Royal decameron in Ocho Rios Jamaica is a nice little quaint place with two pools, great beaches, three beach bars, great service, little bungalows, some direct walk out to the sea.

The entertainment everyday and night is amazing. I give props to the entertainment team. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.

If you walk across the street there is a restaurant that serves pizza and Jamaican food. It was pretty good. The souvenirs and store across the street is cheaper than on site.

There is a gym, tennis courts, a spa area for massages, and throughout the property there are hammocks among the trees to take a cool nap.

Otherwise I still give it four star. Because aside from the food, it's very reasonable and entertaining for the price. The property is immaculate.

The cons:
The food, 😔 was horrible. If food is important to you, then this isn't the place for you. There are two restaurants. The buffet food is horrible. Each meal you get a selection of two meat a salad bar, fruit / dessert bar, pasta, and rice every meal that's it. The wait line for the pasta bar is so long that my food got cold. The waitresses in the main dining room, do not pay attention. Twice and one day, I had to get up and get my own silverware. For dinner, I waited almost 10 minutes before they even asked did I want water, so I got up and went to the bar and got my own drinks. When you get your plate and sit at the tables there's no silverware or play settings. So you have to wait for a waiter to recognize you and bring your silverware and water glass. Soon as they clean the table off, they should reset the table. And to give them credit, there's only two people working the entire dining room. They need help. They can't do it on their own.

I recommend this place if you're looking for quaint, budget friendly, near Ocho Rios. Otherwise, you'll have to make your own judgment.

If you want to enjoy Jamaica at a lower price

Superb location, lovely gardens, cute comfy huts and beautiful beaches. Needs some renovation.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay, already booked another trip.
Entertainment team each and every one we're fantastic. Shereece cool and Jim from the gym made us so welcome. Food and hospitality staff were so good. Even the gardeners were helpful. Only one downfall was orthotic jamaica night was mash and pork chop lol.

Ok spot... Electricity infrastructure for the area could use a little help though. Power cut came at the last 2 seconds of the last game in the NBA Finals with Toronto and GSW

Update Mar 2024: Still a great value with an ok sized pool and good beach.

Service seemed unavailable in restaurant buffet, food in buffet was cold.rooms were fantastic, staff on grounds were very friendly.

Really enjoyed this hotel so far, the food and drinks are really enjoyable

First time at a place like this and it was very very nice especially the views over the ocean

It's nice but needs some repairs. Food is pretty good, soup is delicious

Having just returned from here I can honestly say my experience was a good one. Do not expect the ritzy but it is clean Tidy and the staff are friendly. Accommodation is adequate and cleaned daily if required I heard some rooms aircon was not working but ours was fine. Location is good for alot of attractions like Dunns river falls and dolphin cove are Just a couple of gems. The beach is nice sunbeds are numbered and the bar and pool area is nice to be around. Food is nice and plentiful but can be repetitive. Tipping goes along way and gets you better attention from staff. Some tables in restaurant were being reserved by staff by tipping.
